As someone whose passions drove away from the aesthetic, I was always skeptical of the things she did in part due to my ignorance/disinterest for art (despite her repeated attempts to engage my other half the brain). As someone who is trained in finance/trading, my right brain was pretty much left to rot while in school. However, she worked tirelessly (many, many sleepless nights) at home coordinating fabrics, making the quilts, testing and developing the soaps, creams, shampoos, and god knows what else she made, on herself and with products she grew in what was her backyard. Yet, even after two to two and a half days of marathon preparation, she kept on going until she found the perfect formula for her products and the right designs for her quilts. I've witnessed this first-hand for the last ten years of my life. This story, while superficial in the background, is a testament to her commitment to her passion, the combination of art and beauty. Now, on to the products. While I am not a good judge of interior design, her bedding has always seem to seamlessly work well in the proper environment. That's as much as I'll say about that. On to her beauty products. My mom (pretty much by force) gave me these products to try on. These included, her soaps, some serums, and shampoo. Of course, I never bothered trying them until I ran out of soap and shampoo since I thought all soap was soap and all shampoo was shampoo. Boy was I wrong. When I used the typical 'head and shoulders', I would get dandruff and my head felt a tiny bit itchy afterwards. I've also used Kiehl's products for shampoo/conditioner, and I have to say the after effect feels comparable, if not slightly better. Now, I'm not saying this just because she's my mom. The smell is very neutral, and the shampoo just makes my hair feel squeaky clean and smooth. No weird side-effects. Same with her hand soaps. With regular soaps (like Dove), I noticed my skin felt a bit tight but never really thought much of it until I realized by skin was getting dried out (flakes during the winter). However, once I started using these soaps, I no longer felt this tightness and actually thought my skin felt just as loose as it was going into the shower. I don't know how else to explain it. But the fact that the scent is very natural and there is a sense of 'neutrality' makes it a great product. She gave me a bunch of funky serums and I tried one and I felt has started to even out my skin complexion a little bit more, which was pretty interesting. In all, I tried to give as objective a review as I could on her products, and all I can say is to give my mom a chance. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

We bought quite a bit of furniture here for our new home - couch, love seat, chair, coffee and end…read moretables, rug and a dining set. We worked with Janessa, and she was very helpful and ready to answer any questions we had by email, phone or while in store. She was glad to help us price out the different pieces and helped us decide when we should purchase based upon what specials they were running. We were able to get someone to come out to the house and measure so we could decide what size couch we wanted to purchase. The pieces came and they are lovely. The coffee and end tables do wobble a bit, but since we have hardwood floors we can't tell if that's due to a dip in the floor or uneven legs on the table. Delivery is kind of a pain - apparently they're only in this area once per week or so, so you can't select a delivery date/time that's best for you. If Thursday is the day they're in town, then you have to be there Thursday or you have to wait until another time they deliver to your area. They call the day before with a 3 hour delivery window. My disappointment stems from a problem with the dining set we ordered, which is why this rating is in the 3 - 3 1/2 star range instead of the 4-5 star range I was anticipating. We placed the order for our dining chairs with someone other than Janessa, and instead of getting the chairs we wanted - upholstered seat and back of chair - we received chairs that have only an upholstered seat. Looking at the paperwork, it has item numbers and the description "upholstered chair". Of course, we are not familiar with the product numbers they use, and we assumed it was properly written down since we had discussed it with the employee and it said "upholstered side chair"; unfortunately, we now have $1900 worth of dining chairs that aren't what we feel we ordered. I called to clarify and spoke with an employee who read the description herself, and when I explained the problem of upholstered seat versus full upholstery, she said she'd need to do some more research and she'd call me back; I can only assume this means that she, too, might have thought that "upholstered side chair" meant the same as I did. When I received a call back, it was from the employee who took our order for the chairs (a different employee than the one who said she needed to do more research). She said that though it was a while back (the order was placed the first week of August, and was delivered today), she remembered we were undecided because my boyfriend wasn't sure he liked the zipper seam down the back of the back-and-seat upholstered chair. Actually, I was the one who was unsure about that feature, but the comfort, style and contrast of the fully upholstered side chair outweighed any hesitation about the zipper-to-nowhere. While the chairs are nice, they aren't what we had intended or expected, and it's a bit of a bummer that it turned out this way. I'm not sure if or when we'll head back to Thomasville as we continue furnishing our home, in light of this error (how can I expect to understand what they're ordering, if the description sounds like the correct item but apparently isn't?). As I mentioned, while the pieces are quite nice - and all the other furniture appears to have come out right - it's kind of disappointing to be stuck with something that was, in our minds, second best.
