Discovery is known for their hot fashion at extremely discounted prices. With such discounts, the quality drops. However, I still find it worth it when I can purchase 3 dresses or more for equal to or less than the price of a department store dress from the mall. If you are like me, keep your purchases out of reach from your pets as their cute little paws will tear through anything. The quality is not the best, but it's well worth it for the variety you can find there. I just purchased 2 sets of boot socks on clearance for $.99 apiece. Buy them anywhere else and you'll spend a MINIMUM of $5-15, unless you're shopping from an online retailer such as Grace and Lace and can spend $20-35 for the handcrafted work. I also found a SUPER SNAZZY, classic black jacket that was $16. The jacket was somehow both delicate AND fierce. All in all, if you're on a budget yet wish to dress trendy, sexy, comfortable, or classic, Discovery has all you need. If you're a Pinterest gal and find that you can't afford the outfits you like pieced together by the pros, you certainly can afford those pieces when you're shopping at Discovery. (I hate adding this in, but imaging buying direct from China but eliminating the wait time for shipping and guaranteeing that what you see is what you get. That's kind of like Discovery.) Shoes on clearance range from $5-10. Their full-price shoes are not much more than that. Bras are good quality, but then again I'm not as well-endowed as some. Accessories are very reasonably priced. You can always find something on clearance for a knock-your-socks-off price. Leave your own review on other products I've not yet tried out from them. Complaints about staff? I've never noticed any issues. But then again I don't pay close enough attention. They were very courteous and helpful while we were there. However, a little bit of respect, appreciation, and common courtesy go a long way if you find a person to be a bear to be around. read more

Discovery's strong suit is the variety of products it carries. At Discovery, you can find dresses, jeans, shoes, workout/lounge wear, lingerie, all kinds of accessories, and lots more -- and the things you can find there are pretty much on trend. Its other strength is that the staff is friendly and helpful. Whenever I walk in, someone always says hello to me. The main thing that I don't like about it is -- as other reviewers have mentioned -- the fact that this particular store does not have a fitting room (I don't know if that's the case with all Discovery locations -- it is a national chain). Personally, given the fact that I live in Demotte, it's much more convenient for me to go somewhere like, say, Plato's Closet in Merrillville and get clothes for even lower prices than at Discovery -- and you can often find better quality clothes at Plato's too. However, I do like to come to Discovery from time to time and check out what's going on. Also, some people who live in the Schererville area might not find Plato's Closet to be a very convenient option. So if you live in that area, Discovery is the perfect place to get trendy clothing & accessories for good prices. read more

This used to be a great discovery location but the staff gets worse every time I go there! There are a lot of things up high that can't be reached and when you ask someone to assist you they act like you're bothering them. Everybody says Hi and goes through the motions of giving good customer service but it just doesn't feel genuine, it's obvious they have a manager that makes them "fake it". I find it very disappointing that this store is going down hill because it used to be one of my favorite stores! But the girls in here make me dread going. I'll be sticking to the Orland Park location, it's worth the drive. read more

Discovery has the cutest clothes and accessories at a very reasonable price which is why i continue to come back over and over again buttttttt the schererville locations staff is not so great. They literally never ask if you need help & if you ask them, you're bothering them. This store has really cute clothes, accessories and shoes for a moderate price. The employees are nice and helpful. The only thing that makes me not want to shop here is that it doesn't have a fitting room. They added an extra space (very large) for more clothes and an entire room for shoes but still can't find the space for a small fitting room. Every time I shop here, I end up making returns. As you walk in there is a young lady that never greet customers...Well actually none of the ladies greet customers because the registered is close where many of them are visible. I am in love with they're new store, I really like that it is a lot bigger in size. You have a lot more to choose from and it is very roomy. I don't like however the SLOW service at the cash registers. The ladies are nice but they need to pick up their speed. This store is great if you are looking for cheap cute clothes. My ONLY problem is that there are STILL no fitting rooms... All of that space and they can't put at least one in there? Recently, it has honestly been so painful to shop here. They have a few things that may be worth purchasing like tank tops or something that you wouldn't mind falling apart because every item of clothing there pretty much will (that's why it's so cheap...literally). All of the employees look sooooo miserable and act they hate the world and everyone in it. I probably would too if I worked there. The wait in the line to purchase is ridiculous. I work in retail so I understand that it may take a while if the store is currently under staffed. But they are always full of staff!! Having a long line and only one or two cashiers is unacceptable. Especially when there are other employees in the register area and they are not doing anything. Another con that I can add to this list of disadvantages is that it takes a year and seven months to purchase or return something. I went to return a pair of pants because of a length issue and had a 5 min ordeal take probably 20 mins. The cashier had absolutely no idea how to return an item for the life of her. She called someone over and they scribbled all over my receipt lmao. I was supposed to get $8.55 and the cashier honestly held my money for like a minute and then ASKED the "manager" (I guess if that's what you want to call her...more like a joke) if she could give me my refund. Like howwwwwww are you working and then she ASKED if she could give me back my receipt. Like I'm deceased . Don't get me wrong. Tonight was a mini breaking point for coming to this place. I really used to like this place...when I was younger and it was at it's old location. Everyone was friendly and knew what they were doing and the clothes weren't as poorly made. Now it's just a big store with items that will probably be worn just once and a sad excuse of customer service and knowledge. Tbh I'll probably be back because I can be a basic bitch sometimes and they have cheap tank tops. Whatever. I'll just go on a week day. So I guess advice for this place is to actually make your customer's experience pleasant and not dreadful (I know that retail sucks ass but you work there so suck it up during your shift), train your employees on how to work lol, have more experienced employees work on weekends, get better management, and just do better. I haveto say the new Discovey clothing was exciting to go to. The accessories there were overwhelming, I didnt know where to begin to start picking anything out! Also, The store is gigantic. GIves plenty of room for more fashionable items. The only complaint I I have with Discovery clothing is the no fitting room policy.
