Unfortunately zero stars is not an option. I found Ms. Demko unprofessional and petulant after she dropped the ball on my consignment items.

It is a beautifully curated store with many unique pieces. When you go in it has a good vibe and experience. Great service!

Her Closet Boutique is a women's clothing and accessories consignment store, which moved from downtown Flossmoor a few years ago. Her Closet Boutique is now in a strip mall in Homewood's Cherry Creek Plaza. This store only sells name brand, current trend items from designers such as St. John, Coach, Michael Kors, Chicos, Kate Spade, Calvin Klein, Vera Bradley, and others. Upon entering the store, there are brand new "boutique" items for sale at the front of the store. These items are tagged at a fixed price. As you get deeper in the store, you encounter the actual consignment racks. The consigned items are all tagged with 3 tier pricing. There is the initial price, 1st markdown date and price, and the final markdown date and price. There is not really a huge selection of consigned items, as it seems the brand new items have gotten a larger and larger portion of the store in more recent years. But, there is plenty to look at, and all of it is nicely displayed. There are even gorgeous fur coats for sale. Pricing is rather high. Ladies this is not a "thrift adventure," even though there are used clothing items for sale. Just in case you were hoping to snag one of those fur coats, you will still need about $800 (or more) from your piggy bank! Truthfully, this store caters to the more mature, older woman, and I feel a slight degree of age discrimination when in the store. I have repeatedly observed Her Closet Boutique employees greet and ask to assist the "more mature looking women. " I don't know why, but I have been in this store (old location and new location) on at least 5 occasions over the years. In each visit, I received no greeting or any other acknowledgement/assistance during my entire browsing experience. (I guess that's because I look so young!!!!) But, gosh darn! I wear mature clothing too! Her Closet Boutique only earns 2 stars.... Poor customer service for the "younger looking woman." And, pretty high prices for used, resale clothing! read more

I will never try to sell with them again! They donated my stuff, to a non-profit, that didn't sell WITHOUT giving me the option to take it back & try & sell it on my own! The ladies also act stuck up! ** I would not have minded giving to a place such as Goodwill. Etc but I don't think they should have donated it without my ok! After all, they were still my clothes since they didn't sell! I don't and will certainly not be recommending them to anyone! read more

As a recent college grad, the majority of my wardrobe was either super-casual (tee shirts, jeans, mayybe a pair of cords) or super-dressy (suits, formalwear). Unfortunately, with the advent of a new job that required but didn't really have the budget for a new professional wardrobe, I had to get pretty creative about appearing professional on very little money. Goodwill is great, of course, if you've got the time to wade through everything looking for things that both fit and are work appropriate, but Her Closet was definitely my saving grace. Cashmere sweaters for $15? Dress slacks for $10? Blazers for $20? Leather coats for $40? Yes, please. They're particularly good about dropping their prices for items that have been in stock for a few weeks- after a while, I got good at guessing how long things would be in stock, and letting the prices drop. The owner, Rose, is also very good about comprehensive presentation- she has business casual tops, blazers, work pants, suits, jewelry, nail polish, purses, shoes, pashminas, everything. Her selection for dresses is somewhat limited, since it's just not her niche, and she has a lot of fur coats and designer jeans, which I wasn't really interested in but I'm sure sell well. I'm sure I've given her at least $1,000 in business over the course of a year, and gotten at least $5,000 of value from the store. Two leather coats, at least ten cashmere sweaters, three suits, MANY pairs of black slacks, cords, some more casual jackets, jewelry, shoes, purses, a briefcase, and a love affair with scarves later, I'm a transformed woman. Haven't been in a while, but the clothes are pretty good quality. However, some prices are a bit steep for a re-sell shop. Also, as a seller as Hillary C mentioned, they claim to donate unsold items to some mysterious non-profit, but I have personally seen my items in the store the following season after she claimed they were "donated". Not to mention the owner takes FOREVER to send checks. So long that you forgot what you had even given them at times. Who wants to wait 2-3 months for $30 bucks? Thanks...no thanks. Her closet boutique is my "go to"boutique when I'm in the south suburbs. The store carries a great collection of new clothing, (amazing sweaters), coats, jewelry, handbags and great-looking consignment pieces. They also carry bodycare products and Brighton jewelry and sunglasses. The owner, Rose, is always friendly, and helpful in suggesting items that go together to make a great outfit yet, she's very laid-back and fun to engage with. I try to make a visit whenever I'm visiting family in Homewood. If I need to find an pulled together look in a hurry, I have always been successful here! read more

I have been a customer of Her Closet for many years; first in Flossmoor and now in Cherry Creek., where besides being a consignment store they sell new clothing and have added jewelry. I recently needed some presents and found a good selection of of Brighton jewelry at differing prices. They have a selection of lovely new clothing, some of which is a little pricey, but they do have sales which make it reasonable. The clothing is very chic and you won't see it many places. Rose, the owner, is always pleasant and very helpful as is all her help. Rose is fussy about what she takes to sell, as well she should be as she wants a good selection of consignment articles. I LOVE this store because I prefer to shop local and Her Closet carries a very nice selection of fun tops, dresses and bottoms. All of the new seasonal merchandise is up front and it's very much a boutique. Fun styles, prints, and fabric. You won't find basic khaki's. They also carry a huge huge selection of jewelry and bags. The back of the store is consignment with a wide mixture of designer and department store brands. All very good quality. I have both bought and sold consignment through Rose and find her to be fair and reasonable. They do donate your unsold merchandise to charity but you are told that at the time. They will make arrangements for you to pick it up, but won't hold it very long. All in all a great local place to shop. I can get new seasonal things here every Spring and Fall to spice up my wardrobe. Everything I have bought has been good quality and lasted. read more

They have some new jewelry at the front counter. They do not take in any costume jewelry, nor any bridal gowns and accessories. I found 5hrm to be way overpriced for a resale/ consignment shop. Not evety article if clothing is a name brand... I would consider selling stuff in here, but I couldn't afford to pay their prices. read more
