I had the most amazing and joyful experience sending my kids to MKU at the University Heights location. However, when I learned they were closing, I began a frantic search for a new school that offered the same diligent and thoughtful Montessori curriculum my children had been experiencing. I also wanted a program with a rich Spanish language curriculum to support my trilingual children. I'm so thrilled to say that these past two months at MKU Shavano have felt like a self-fulfilling prophecy come true. My children love going to school and come home each day sharing their newfound love for literature and the arts. Their bond with their teachers runs deep - it warms my heart when they talk excitedly about what they learned while we eat dinner together. The front office staff is my daily dose of positivity each morning as I drop them off. Through my journey with MKU over the past year and three months, I can confidently say this place is a home away from home for my kids. If you are looking for an academically rich, safe, and loving environment for your child, look no further. I only wish I had enrolled my son and daughter sooner. I deeply appreciate Ms. Brigitte, Ms. Viví, Ms. Elvira, Ms. Alé, and Mr. Sandoval (the newest teacher there!). Within just one day, my son couldn't stop talking about the fun activities he did in Mr. Sandoval's classroom. Thank you, Ms. Chrissy, for accommodating my children into your school.

Making a decision on full time childcare can feel like a daunting task. Of course it's a big…read moreexpense, but mostly you're concerned if your child will be loved and cared for when you're not around. I can say for certain this has never been an issue at MKU. Both of my girls have been there for over two years, and not a single day has gone by that I was worried about their safety or general well-being. The staff is extremely attentive, and they know every student by name. Additionally, the Spanish immersion PLUS Montessori is a game changer; learning life skills and another language from such a young age has had a positive impact on their overall growth and development. We moved further away from this school and made the easy decision to keep them there even though the drive is longer. Selecting MKU where our girls have a safe, clean environment to thrive in has been one of the best choices we've made as parents!

Tennis and pickle ball courts Basketball indoor courts Security is tight and comforting, sadly needed these days Although the neighborhood is fine Easy to find along highway with big signs Favorite is the gift shop and Holocaust museum Open to public Membership is a plus Great asset to our city Blessed to have a place like this Also the staff is super friendly too Btw if you have a keyboard or acoustic piano, they could probably use one.

Their web interface and app are almost entirely unusable. The gates are constantly closed, the staff can be rude at times, especially more temporary staff. I often feel like I'm walking on eggshells just to go and work out. It's chaotic, it's almost impossible for my partner to find basketball court availabilities, yoga classes fill up and wind up being overpacked into rooms, and in general there is so much pro Israel rhetoric that it is very challenging to be a member if you're not a zionist. My family is Jewish, but we feel deeply uncomfortable going in there and expressing our opinions. Things seem to be open and closed on a whim, you can't use any of the workout rooms when they are empty or you will be yelled at by a member of staff (even though there is no signage explaining this), at this point I'm not sure why we're spending so much money to come here, when clearly the people who work there don't seem to have an interest in our family's well being. Finally, it's clear that after school activities will always give privilege to the students at Anne Frank Academy, which seems to be affiliated, so for instance we have missed my daughter's Jazz recitals at The JCC because the instructor can't give us a time that actually involves the beginning and end of the recital. Because the concern seems to be about children and Aftercare rather than former students and families who pay high membership fees. So at this point I'm getting fairly fed up and I'm not sure why we should still be members.
