I went to countless jewellery stores and was always told "the features are too complicated and it doesn't warrant the design." This all changed when I met Mathew. He was open and willing to take on the challenge of building the perfect ring. I described to him the meaning of the ring. I even went as far as trying to figure out how many twists the bands would have and the number of diamonds on the band, in order to be symbolic of our relationship. Mathew asked me why I had chosen a specific style and feature. So I described that the band was to be simple yet stunning, like my partner. The center stone was to represent her heart and I wanted it to be as big and clear as possible. Together we went through multiple design stages. For example, changing the diamond sizes on the twist in order to make it look nicer. When it came to choosing the center stone, Mathew knew exactly what I was after. He told me that it would take time, but he was willing to bring in diamonds to show me, until we found the perfect one. Never once did he pressure me into choosing a specific stone. He told me to be patient and that when the moment came, I would know I had found the perfect diamond. Well the day came. Mathew presented me with the final stone, and he was right, I knew it was the one for the ring. He agreed that it matched my description perfectly. The ring design was completed next and high quality photos were given to me for approval. I once again decided to make changes to the ring. This time adding each of our initials and birth stones to the side of the ring. Mathew agreed it was a very nice touch to the ring. When all was said and done, the final ring came out better then I had ever expected. Mathew said the reaction on my face was priceless. He felt the ring was exactly what I had envisioned for my partner. All this to say, Dixon Jewelers allowed me to come up with exactly what I felt my partner deserved in order to reflect who she is. Dixon Jewelers accepted the challenge and was fully supportive through this LONGER than normal process (only due to my changes :) ). People's did an excellent job repairing the intricate work of the piece, and I have brought other pieces to them since. The staff seemed friendly and pleasant. Update: I've had quite positive experiences with People's (St. Laurent Mall location). I was so pleased with the repairs they did to several pieces I brought in. I had used other jewelers for repairs in the past and was never pleased with the result. I have also had a much more pleasant experience dealing with the People's staff when looking for a present compared to other vendors. When I described what I was looking for they immediately helped me find something very close to what I had in mind but were not pushy and didn't try to force me to get items I didn't like. I am pleased beyond my ability to express superlatives with Master Jewellers at Billings Bridge…read morePlaza I have an old Timex Expedition watch that I cherish very much because it is a reminder of happy times from the past. A few weeks ago it stopped working for some reason. I took it to a reputable jeweller and I was told that it needed a replacement movement, but that the replacement unit would not have the illumination feature because it wasn't available. I decided against getting the repair done and I took the watch to another reputable jeweller. This jeweller also checked the watch and told me the same thing. I also decided not to have the repair done. As I mentioned, this watch is very dear to me and I wanted it to work as it was intended. A friend of mine recommended Master Jewellers to me as he so very pleased with their service. I took there and I told the lady how much I cherished this watch, also mentioning the information that I was given from the 2 other jewellers. The lady was familiar with this model of watch and told me that the illumination feature is separate from the movement and it would be retained if a new movement was needed. I agreed to have the inspection and repair done. A few days later she told me that the watch only needed a battery and the existing movement was operating correctly. I was so pleased!!! Not only did it not need a replacement movement that 2 other jewellers told me it would need , but it only needed a battery ! This watch is now woking perfectly just as it had been for so so many years. I highly recommend Master Jewellers to everyone, especially if a treasured item is involved. They are so courteous and honest , such wonderful service !!

Just a statement to say how satisfied we are. My son is travelling from country to country. He…read morewanted to propose and asked me to help him find the right ring. The problem is he knows exactly what she will like. After visiting some places in Canada, online and in Barcelona and France where he was, he decided he will give her a custom ring. It was an other level, I went to all stores, sometimes it was the price sometimes it was something else. I went to the internet and found the name of David Congers. I called him, a very calm, confident voice. I felt that he really wanted to help me and knew what he was talking about. The problem is that during the pandemic, he closed his store and was working from home. The first time I went to his house, he was scared of me and I was scared of him. Showing diamond in a garage was not to reassure me. My phone died and I asked him if I could charge it inside his house, I could feel that he was not confortable to let me in. To make a story short, I showed him a model. He showed me a diamond that my son was thrilled about. We discussed prices and settled. When the time comes to deliver we went to a mall. Again, we were both scared of each other. I had to make sure that the number on the diamond was right and he did not want to give me the diamond until he received the money on his account. Besides that lack of confidence on both sides, it was a great experience. The ring was wonderful, both my son and my future daughter in law are so happy about it. The size, everything was exactly they way the wanted. I really recommend David Congers for his patient. He is working from home but he is honest and direct. Thanks again David.

Frank is amazing and I have been going to him for about 3 years now. I have several luxury watches…read more(Tudor, Hamilton, Ball) and when I need a bracelet adjustment (e.g. removing links from a metal watch bracelet), I will only trust Frank to handle my luxury watches. I also have two specific examples of how Frank saved the day: 1. I have a pair of earrings made of semi-precious stone with a thin gold wire running through a tiny hole drilled in the top of the stone. The gold wire on one of the earrings wore out and snapped. I took it to an upscale jewellery store for repair and they said they couldn't do it because the hole was so tiny and the wire was so thin - they didn't have wire small enough to fix it. I took it to Frank instead. He took one look, said that yes, the wire was tiny, but he could special order the right wire if I was willing to wait two weeks. He fixed it and it's been perfect ever since. 2. I received a vintage, 35-year-old quartz Mickey Mouse watch by Lorus. It didn't keep proper time, as it lost 20 minutes every day, despite having a new battery. Brought it to Frank, he cleaned it, serviced it, replaced the rotted gasket, and it now keeps perfect time. Don't be put off by his modest storefront - it's not the jewellery he sells that's the draw, it's the expertise of his repair service that's important. There's nobody I would trust more with handling my expensive pieces for day-to-day minor repairs or bracelet/strap adjustments.
