The place has an event space if you wanted to throw a private gathering and also has the traditional brewery feel with kegs and tabs of the ciders. This time I tried the Peach Tea and the Spicy Passionfruit(might be seasonal). Both of them were so good I had to get some cans to take home. The Spicy Passionfruit has a slight kick to it and has the tartness from a passionfruit. Overall great flavor. The peach tea is slightly sweet similar to the tea but the elements that make the cider prevent it from being overpowering. The staff was very kind and patient as it was my first time there. I love cider so I knew going in that I would love visiting their taproom. And yep, I did. Place is quite large - plenty of seats. They have games and cards you can play with and they had some sort of class going on while we were there. Maybe cake decorating or something? It looked fun. They gave me four choices of ciders. I decided to go for three of the flagships ciders: 615, Bob's Your Uncle, and Tiki Tonik and one of the seasons ciders: Jo Loco. Each one had a distinct flavor, with the Jo Loco (limoncello), 615 (fruit tea) and Tiki Tonik (pineapple) being the most unique. While in town this weekend we discovered Diskin had a special event to celebrate the release of their Roses Cheeks Cider !! We had a blast, lively event with a chill vibe and fun activities. Yay Ciders! A place for me! I was pretty excited for this spot as it was my first cidery that I went to and it was finally all about me vs Ben. LOL. I discovered them when we were at the hockey game the night before as they had a booth with local brewery options where I choose Tiki Tonik. As this was my first time getting an all cider, I was taken back a little by the cost of the flight but now have learned that is pretty normal. On my flight I had Lil' Blondie, BTC - Bourbon Tart Cherry, Resolution and Striptease but was given little tasters of WeHo, Six One Five, and Bob's Your Uncle. Beer and cider are great! I've come to Diskin so many times in the last 4 years. The neighborhood has changed a lot - when I first came there was a grass field for parking behind Diskin. Parking can be tricky now, but there are several lots and street parking. Nice outdoor area for good weather. They have some games too. My husband got the hot mess drink and he said it was extremely good and would get it again. I got the seasonal "sleigh" and it was great! I'd order that again! My husband got a burger that was mediocre and could use some salt. I got the margarita ish flatbread and it was unique not something I would crave, but was pretty good! We both agree that as "bar food" it was great! We split a side house salad without blue cheese and that might have been the best thing we got that we both really liked. Service was bar style, order at the bar after you seat yourself. They came and grabbed stuff afterwards which was great! I also saw they had a bunch of board games in the back corner even though we didn't play it seemed like a nice touch! Mere minutes from the Honky Tonks and fried bologna sandwiches of Broadway sits this absolute gem of a Cidery that is slinging some of the tastiest ciders around! Upon arrival, you are immediately wowed with the building itself, simple, yet beautiful from curb to bar. Once inside you walk into a wide open room that transitions from entry to lounge area with couches and a fireplace to picnic tables and high tops and finally to the bar itself. The outer areas are lined with pallets of cider cans through various stages of the process and behind those is where all the magic happens! You can take tours of the place at certain times, but we were more interested in the end product, so we hung out at the bar! The ciders - We both opted for the Cider Flight which was (4) 5 ounce pours of a variety of Ciders you choose, all for about $12.00. We both sampled two classic ciders and two of the seasonal ciders. All 4 were absolutely delicious! In addition to drinks, they also serve a small variety of snacks from popcorn, wings to charcuterie. We went with the Thai Spiced Popcorn, which was phenomenal! It was however spicier than we thought it would be, this only meant we had to make sure we had enough cider to put out the flames...good job on you, Diskin - You knew what you were doing with that spicy deliciousness! Outside of straight ciders, they also offered cider cocktails. Knowing me, I couldn't refuse, especially when one features Gin and a Cherry Cider. I ended up with the Cherry Chapstick, it was a sweet and sour cocktail that was well balanced and quite tasty! The outside area has an area for cornhole, a few hammocks, and a little childrens area. We ordered two flights which included 8 different ciders that were priced at $15/flight. I enjoyed most of them, but my obviously favor was their seasonal cider!
