The ambiance of this venue is impressive at first glance, but unfortunately the overall experience fell far short of expectations. The restroom facilities were poorly maintained. One stall had a broken lock, while another was completely out of toilet paper. We attended a comedy show and waited approximately 15 minutes before being acknowledged by the bar staff. When I approached one bartender to order a glass of wine, I was told that because I was attending the comedy show, I should use the bar located in that area instead. I was then informed that if I wanted food, I would need to return to the other side of the venue to place that order. As a paying customer, I found this interaction unnecessarily dismissive and unhelpful. My destination within the establishment should not determine whether a staff member is willing to serve me. The service throughout the evening was disappointing. The bartenders appeared overwhelmed, unfriendly, and unwilling to provide basic customer service. While the venue itself has great potential, the lack of professionalism and customer care left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I do not plan to return. read more

Love & Exile was the perfect quick stop before a concert nearby--though I'll admit we almost wished we had more time there! We came by for happy hour and light bites and were pleasantly surprised by their great deals. The $5 glasses of wine (plus a few other happy hour options) made it an easy choice. With the amazing early spring weather, we opted to sit outside in their patio garden area, which was such a cute and relaxed spot. For food we ordered the bruschetta, whipped goat cheese, and meatballs. The whipped goat cheese was the clear standout--it came with blueberry compote and hot honey so you could go sweet or slightly spicy. The blueberry compote with the goat cheese was honestly to die for. The bruschetta was also really tasty with great flavor, and I appreciated the thinner crostini slices.The meatballs came with three generously sized meatballs and were good, but not quite as standout as the other two dishes. Service at the bar was a little slow, but I honestly felt bad because there was only one bartender handling an increasingly busy bar. Despite that, the food actually came out fairly quickly. I love coming here! There's an amazing dog-friendly patio with a stage for live music, fire pits to stay warm, and enough seating for decent-sized parties. So I went to Love and Exile on a slow night. Not too many people inside or out. I have been before and I enjoy the intimate ambiance of the bar. Service was prompt that evening. This was th first thing we had and it was a very promising start. Meatballs 3 stars. The marinara sauce mixed with balsamic was way too sweet and missed the mark. More parmesan cheese and fresh parsley would have made it better, but less sugar would help too. Prosciutto and Goat Cheese flatbread was also disappointing. The seating options are an eclectic mix and the bar has an open feel to it with a plenty of greenery and televisions. The outside patio is expansive for warmer days. I tried The 6 to drink. The drink was sugary sweet, and you couldn't really taste the bourbon. I tried some of my wife's me & yuzu which had the opposite problem. They had to ring in my caprese sandwhich up separately as if I ordered an Italian. I am sweating from the amount of salt consumed through my meal. My hunger overroad my appetite as I was extremely hungry. That's saying a lot considering the bread was coated in salt flakes. First we were greeted by Presley, a gentle greyhound mix rescue. Presley led us to the outside soggy area where pups can run free with treats, water and room to romp. Or pups, Ruby and Dill, met two other dogs, where everyone seemed more chill than you might expect. Two great drinks later we ordered a few appetizers and were surprised before we got our food, with a 'gift' of freshly cooked meatballs, gifts for our dogs! Jenna was so sweet to our pups and attentive to us we felt very welcome! The drinks were great and the food was too. But don't worry... while the place is dog friendly it wasn't overrun with animals, but did have a nice crowd on football Sunday. I'm conflicted. I am a frequent Love & Exile goer, but one of the bartenders has ruined it for me. I went on a Friday, and the bartender made a rude comment towards me, which I addressed on Saturday. I told him he was mean to me and he said "What do you mean? I liked your jumpsuit, and then I told my coworker that you had a nice butt." He decided to tell me this when my guy friend and my friend's boyfriend had left the table. Then, he told my friend that he made the drinks strong, and she said he could pay for her uber home, to which he said "I'll drive you home" and asked her where she lived. He also assumed that my friends and I were really young, making weird comments about how we were turning 21. Besides these uncomfortable experiences, I love this place. It's got great energy and wonderful drinks. I hope this guy gets his shit together lol.
