It's Disneyland! What's not too love! We were there for Sweetheart Night and it was amazing! Some rides were closed, but most of the main ones where open. We were able to get on 4 rides in 1 hour! That has NEVER happened! Everything was Valentines Sweetheart themed and very romantic. Don't take my next comment the wrong way, as I have kids...but it was really nice without millions of tiny tots lol. Most of the restaurants are open, but most of the snack carts aren't...and those that are open are churros or pretzels...and the lines for them will be longer than the lines for the rides lol. The 2 churros I did get were luke warm at best...but I didn't let that get me down! Being able to walk straight on to all the rides was definitely a trade off. Oh, and there were photo ops with Disney characters, but I wasn't there for that as the lines for them were also longer than the rides lol...DEFINITELY WILL BE LOOKING FOR MORE SPECIAL EVENTS read more

It was really funny because the Birthday Boy (Tim) didn't want to wear his button, so I wore it for him! Ha ha! After a few greetings, I would point at Tim and say, "It's his birthday!" So - Cast Members aren't look at the name, "Tim". They are just looking at the button and responding! That's really nice of them to take the time at the restaurants and attractions to recognize and greet guests! Besides the Birthday button (just tell them the name that you want printed on the button), you can get "Honorary Citizen" and "Happy Anniversary" ! I have all of my buttons pinned to my cap - even one that says, "Happily Ever After"! Also, located near the entrance on the left, near the Fire Station - this office is Customer Service or Guest Relations and Lost & Found... Example: A few years ago, my visor had flown off my head during the Thunder Mountain Ride (yes - this ride is fast and the wind whips around strongly). I filed a claim at City Hall, describing my visor. Eventually, Disneyland mailed me a Mickey Mouse visor that sure looked like the one that I had lost! How cool is that?! To be clear this rating is for Sandra ONLY everyone in there other than her provided courteous service when it came to the Disability Access Service not only for my grandson who is type 1 but told me as 100% disabled vet that i need to bring my own stuff for comfort. Not one other person in there said that to anyone. I knew as soon as she started talking it was her intent to deny my grandson. To top it off as I was leaving she started loud talking me so the next guest could her saying everyone is different as if i didn't know that. I am 60 year old educated woman i know different health concerns call for different services - she became patronizing and raising her voice as i was exiting. The one thing about it is everyone hears exactly what others are saying i stood there over 25 minutes as many others with issues that didn't compare came in and exited. We'd been planning our Disney trip for my husband's 30th bday for a few months. One month before the trip, my cousin asked if he could join us. It was his 36th birthday and we had driven down to celebrate it with him. Our entire family attended his birthday party, because just days before he had been told he may only have a few days to live. At this point it could be weeks or months, but it's very unclear. (RIP Erik Halonen 1977-2014) So we of course wanted to spend our time at Disney with him. My little cousin Staci also joined us and being a seasonpass holder, she knew all things Disney. She first had us rent a wheelchair ($32 including a $20 deposit) from outside the park. Then, upon entering Disneyland, she told us to stop at City Hall. This is where you can get a pass for front of the line. I'm told people abuse these, and it makes sense: the waiting in lines is significantly less. There are stories of wealthy OC Moms paying handicapped people in wheelchairs to join them at Disney. And you know what, that's selfish of those people taking advantage, but probably really great for the person in the wheelchair, so I have mixed feelings. There was no way my now very-ill cousin would have been able to wait in the sun while standing in line. He becomes exhausted after walking a few feet. It was exhausting to him just to be pushed around in the wheelchair. The hundred degree weather took a lot out of him and he was in considerable pain most of the day. The lady who helped us at City Hall was very nice about giving us the pass. Perhaps she could see the pain in his gaunt face. And who's going to lie about stage 4 cancer? (hopefully nobody!) I saw several people rolling their eyes as he stepped out of the wheelchair to get onto rides. Annoyed expressions that "this guy can walk, he's cutting" because they couldn't know that this might be his last trip to Disneyland and this was the only way he would be able to do it. We made it on almost all of the low-impact rides. There's no way we could have done this without the front of the line pass. My cousin is really positive and had a great day. Positive attitudes real affect your degree of healing so I hope he can maintain it through the hard days. It was a wonderful trip to be able to share with him and keep in my memories. And it was wonderful that Disneyland makes their park so accessible to the people in need of wheelchair assistance. read more

Ran into some very friendly cast members when I went into just see their pin book. But i usually have good interactions with the people I meet in there. This is the place where you go to get issues resolved and to put in comment cards as well, especially those pertaining to interactions you might have had with cast members. They don't let you write out your comments per se since they write it down for you, so you need to make sure they get down everything the way you wanted it to be written. You could get the infamous types of buttons, such as first visit and birthday ones, but if the line for city hall is really long to wait to get one they usually have someone outside at this small desk to assist you in getting whatever button you may need. read more

Surprisingly, this was the last stop we made on our trip to Disneyland. I had lost my Honorary Citizen of Disneyland button, and had heard that you could get all the buttons here. Turns out, my friends were right! Not only could did I get a replacement button, I also picked up a princess button for my girlfriend's birthday. Score!!! The cast members that work the desk here are quite friendly (as are all the cast members around the park) - pretty good spot for basically the main info booth at Disneyland. Also, check out the fire engine parked next door... supposedly, Walt Disney would hang out in the room above the fire house and look out the window to see guests going up and down Main Street! read more

Disneyland Guest Services is top notch. The Cast Members are amazing (this goes for all CMs). Every business, be it a theme park, store, restaurant, auto mechanic, government agency, is going to have instances where the customer (Guest) isn't completely satisfied. And let's be honest, we as Americans are spoiled and expect the utmost in customer service. Disneyland (and Disney in general) leads the industry in customer service. But incidents still happen. And that's where the Guest Relations Cast Members at City Hall step in. Whether it's a complaint about how a CM was behaving, or an issue with an experience, maybe an issue with a ticket that turns out to be just a case of your father trying to use his Costco card for a FastPass (good job, dad) or non-complaints such as accessibility assistance and compliments, these CMs will go above and beyond and do what they need to do to make things right. Now, let me be clear. I hate the old adage "the customer is always right," because let's be honest. That's not true. I'm talking when the unfortunate event happens that was out of the Guest's control, and often out of the control of the parks (contrary to popular belief, Disney can NOT in fact control the weather above the resort...the giant glass dome has been broken for quite a while now). Disneyland Guest Relations will do what they can to make it right. I look forward to the day I get to go to the parks again, and walk into City Hall to pay a compliment to someone who went above and beyond to make the day extra special for me, or another Guest. read more

I had forgotten my purse at the Indiana Jones ride and didn't notice until arriving at California adventures. Went all the way back to Indiana Jones ride just to find out that it was not there anymore. A lot of the staff that I passed by along the way,even told me to head to City Hall and make a claim their. Had lost hope on finding my purse and was expecting to just make a claim on my lost purse. Their was a lot of people in line. I was surprised on how many people lost their stuff. Hopefully no one in the line lost their kid, and if they did, found them quickly. Thank you for finding my purse. Was shocked to find out that they had it secured still with my passport inside. Guys moral of this story is, just go straight to City Hall. Overall, the staff at Disneyland is amazing!!! City hall is the one stop shop for all questions disney. Located right on the left as soon as you walk into the park, you can pick up your disney buttons and ask any questions you have. You can earn the honorary citizen button by answering a disney trivia question. You can ask any park related questions such as the secret to riding the Lily Belle, or how the disability line works. I have been here numerous times to buy Disney Dollars and the staff is exceptionally nice. Not every cast member is allowed to sell disney dollars, so patience was key. I'm sad they are discontinuing them, but city hall is and will also by a great stop for any information related questions! read more

This review is specifically for their disability services. They do not have induction loops despite what their disability guide & pdf claims. The cc boxes run out of battery in 2-3 hours & don't work most of the time. When they do work, they're very out of sync with the ride. They have old rides & wrongly placed ride audio nearly every time. Ex: it wants to play Captain EO when standing by ex-Innoventions. The tiki room cc is out of sync entirely - starts & finishes 5-7 minutes prematurely. Doesn't work on railroad or jungle cruise despite having programming for it. The only ride it works decently on is Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The preview test for the railroad lists Winnie the Pooh as their newest ride, which opened in 12 YEARS AGO in 2003, so you can tell how long ago anyone even thought about updating the CC devices. There are deaf guests needing these disability aids who weren't born yet the last time the CC/ALS devices were updated. Guest Services at both City Hall & Chamber of Commerce in CA don't have even their own claimed disability services for their guests with hearing aids to be able to enjoy ride text. Even the cast members admit they've never seen the assistive hearing devices work properly. Accommodations for guests with hearing aids is laughable at best and insulting at worst. read more

As an ultimate Disney lover, I'm saddened to rate City Hall so low. I visited the park yesterday with the mother and came here towards the end of the night for some clarity and suggestion as to a better route to the park since my visit this time would be in the most ridiculous boot ever due to an injury. Now, usually my mother and I visit the park with herself in a wheelchair and me pushing her, but considering my situation, that wasn't going to happen. Yes, we winged our trip and stopped most often than not and took advantage of all that transportation that the park has to offer. Of course we could easily have rented those motor wheelchairs, but who on earth wants to pay $75 each visit (we are premium passholders)?! So at the end of the night, I visited city hall for a little suggestion and while joking about this, Victoria responded ever so rudely that she would not take any suggestions but may take a question. That initial response alone is not exactly how you'd expect a Disney Cast Member to respond. Anyway, so I went on in telling her my situation and she continued to refer us to a wheelchair. I simply suggested that they should use the kiosks and ride exits to make use of return times making it easier for people who cannot walk as much as they'd like to, and since you have to physically be there to scan your ticket, it would be nice to have a couple extra kiosks to allow less work for the disabled person. Anywho, Victoria began to talk over us while speaking and practically digging her fingers into the counter while ignoring us, showing her frustration with our speaking as if we were such a hassle. At that point I was over it, her rudeness has proven how downhill Disney's cast members are going. I'm not speaking for all, because I've met a lot who have been amazing! But my experience yesterday has left me completely saddened and just in awe by her perfect failing attempt in leaving a positive lasting impression. She was the last cast member we spoke to when leaving the park... If I was just some tourist who was here for their once a year vacay, I def would NOT return. She ruined our entire day. Disney is known for stellar customer service, but I honestly think that this is the best it can get. Unfortunately, after a few hours in the park yesterday, my son (who is four and a half years old) started to get sick in the park. He threw up everywhere in the park - bushes, trash cans, on the ground...even on some people. It was literally a mother's nightmare trip to Disneyland. He got to a point where he couldn't stop throwing up. I held my very sick child in my arms just dreading the entire experience, knowing it would get worse...but for what could have been the worst time possible, the following generous, kind, and understanding acts of kindness from cast members made a bad experience to one that I will personally never forget. 1. My daughter (same age as my son) & I waited for an hour to see the Paint the Night parade while my husband walked around with my son. She and I found a spot amongst a gazillion other people. My son and hubby joined us once he was feeling better. He wasn't feeling well so he fell asleep in my arms. A few minutes later, like a geyser, he was puking like old faithful all over the people sitting next to us (who were quite rude to be honest prior by spreading out or putting their feet on my kids...they deserved a little barf). I grabbed him and ran him to the bathroom close by. He finished and since the street was shut down for the parade, we were stuck, so we watched the rest of the show. At the end, he started throwing up again, so I ran him back to the bathroom which was now closed. A cast member wouldn't let anyone in, but since my son was heaving I screamed, "He needs to throw up!" and he immediately let us in. He and other cast members checked on he and I for a while and even cleaned up the mess he made. I could even see them clearing it with haz mat tape as we tried to leave the park. 2. We joined the massive herd to leave the park but got caught in the sea of people waiting for fireworks. Kid is still puking his brains out so we have to stop every 5 feet to let him barf. Meanwhile, I get separated from my husband and daughter in the sea of people and of course, his phone had died. I knew we would rendezvous at the car so I carried my 45 lb son as far as I could until he needed to stop and throw up in the bushes. Just then another cast member came up to me and asked if I needed help - which I definitely did! She helped escort me threw the sea of people, moving everyone out of the way to get to First Aid. Amazing. 3. We get to first aid and my son is pale, shaking and cannot move. He is whining and whimpering in pain. The nurses rush to us and open the door for me and immediately help my son. But due to his age, they can't give him any good anti nausea meds, so they give us something that was like sugar water they said. They took such good care of him and made ME feel safe and in good care as his mother. Kendra, one of the nurses, suggested the fastest and easiest route out of the park and told us to stop by guest relations to see about comping our tickets. What? When your kid gets sick at Disneyland and it ruins the experience, they actually CARE about that? Who knew?? 4. The final, and BEST part of this whole adventure was when we finally got to guest relations. Thank God there wasn't a line. We got up to Ryan in guest relations. He took one look at my face and my son and asked me if I wanted to take him to a quieter place. I did, so we went into a special Disney office - a place that I didn't know existed. While there, he asked what happened and told him the whole experience. He starts to tell me that he can comp the tickets but he needs the original tickets in order to see what we had. I told him that my husband had the tickets and was with my daughter and his phone was dead. Just then, my son starts puking again, and Ryan takes one look at him and says, "let me see what I can do." A few minutes later, he comes back with 4 tickets for us to come back to the park. He tells me this, "Disney is about magic and today didn't sound very magical for you. Please take these tickets on us so that you and your family can come back and really enjoy a day with us." I literally cried. Here, we had spent the day with a sick kid who wanted so desperately to be at the park and put on a happy face until he just couldn't do it anymore. My daughter was so upset because we couldn't stay the whole time and she missed the fireworks which was her favorite part. It killed me as their mother to give them this super special day and have it just not work out. And, the kindness that Disney showed us - my son, daughter, husband and I to be so understanding and kind...there just aren't any words to express how much it meant to us. Disney and Disneyland IS magic. This was like a generous Christmas gift. Fortunately, my son wasn't contagious - just food poisoning. He is still not great, but doing better.
