Don't use AAA for tows! My car was slightly lowered and the first tow truck didn't know how to load the car properly. Instead of trying to load it with wood and the proper technique, he just started naming reasons why he can't do it. He then submitted pictures and made it impossible for me to get a tow off the side of the freeway in make my car AAA denied my service and called the police on me. I called a private company and they came out within 30 minutes and loaded the car within 5. Super easy process if AAA used a proper tow company. read more

I had a very bad experience when purchase home insurance with AAA. Two months before my previous insurance expired, I started looking around for insurances that covers my auto and home. AAA proposed a very attractive discount if purchase both auto and home with them, so I signed the contracts and paid my premiums. However, the date my policy became affective, AAA cancelled my policy without event notice me the reason. Since then my agent became very hard to reach. After calling multiple agents, supervisors, insurance office, and "underwriting " personnel, I found that they increased my premiums and deductible which forced me to pay more and insureds less if I want to continue. This is very unprofessional practice to mistreat customer and forcing higher premiums on cheaper products. I have reported this to state insurance commissioner. Just want to bring this up to anyone out there searching for AAA insurance to avoid this problem. read more

I went to the Anaheim office to renew my vehicle registration and was very disappointed. After driving there, waiting in line, and finally getting to my turn, I was told that they don't accept debit card payments, only cash or check. Nobody had informed me of this beforehand, and the person who helped me just said I couldn't pay with debit, without any explanation or even an apology for the inconvenience. Since I didn't have cash or checks with me, I had to drive back home without getting anything done. This was a complete waste of time driving, waiting, and now even days lost since the office will be closed tomorrow. Something as simple as clearly informing customers about accepted payment methods would have prevented this entire problem. The young man at reception was cordial and cheerful and checked me in quickly. I saw Antonio at the DMV services desk and he was warm and friendly. My application for a temp disabled parking placard had one illegible item of info from my doctor, so I had to come back. He gave me a slip to put me at the head of the line when I came back with an updated form. Again reception and he treated me like an old friend when I came back. A great experience. read more

Remember Trip Tik? Years ago when I traveled. We would always get maps and detailed travel info from AAA. With internet and Google that kind of stopped. But I was thinking of taking a trip. Went to AAA. Meet Sylvia N and she helped me plan a route, show me highlights along the way. Then printed out a little book with directions. Plus got paper maps for the areas. I will be in. Came here as a paying member to obtain a one day moving permit for my car that had been towed. My car was towed and I needed the permit in order to take the car out in order to get a smog check done. The big white man drinking red bull for breakfast at desk 4 with terrible customer service was unwilling to help. His excuse for not giving me the one day permit I was requesting was due to my registration being up. The point of me needing the permit was so that I can get my smog and registration handled. I came in with my proof of insurance and Proof of registration in progress that showed my need for a smog. This man still refused a service you guys supposedly provide. What was the point of me paying for the convenience of being able to do dmv related things like this at your offices when you have employees like this one who just got me a full week of impound holding fees. The DMV was willing to help too bad i wasted my time coming here last week or else i would've gone straight to the DMV in the first place. I had claims adjuster at AAA in Santa Ana. Sarah R. She foind me at fault for an accident. I filed a complaint with the California Department of Insurance. A week later Sarah R. supervisor calls me telling me they reversed their decision upon further investigation and I was found zero percent at fault. They waived my deductible and apologized profusely. Don't let them try to screw you around. Always contact your states Department of Insurance! That's not good for the insurance company and they dread it. read more

Parked right by my apartment and then went to readjust and then got hit so hard it threw me around 3 times. The girl who hit me called me a white bitch and I made the mistake of saying that. The man who worked with us was Mexican and sided with her in racism (oh sorry, forgot, white people never experience racism). My chiropractor asked me if I had been in an accident because my neck got so messed up. But of course, she's an angel being on her phone and unable to be courteous in a parking lot of an apartment complex because she's Mexican and I'm just a white bitch. She said her car had it worse? Hers got fixed by MY insurance because she had none and my car got salvaged. Hate to break it to you, but white parents are savage and don't believe in family. I was facing homelessness as a woman on the streets. And poor little gangsta girl with no insurance. How I was treated when I was paying this man's salary with 20 years of monthly payments was awful and I will forever be angry about it. Putting me in a position where I have never done anything wrong being white (my ancestors are Minonites... basically Amish) and treated poorly after 20 years of paying for them for them to not fight for me and side with someone just because they are not white... Cold and tired. It's about 2AM. requested tow and ETA was 40 minutes. Then after 40mins, I got TBD. No tow. No update. I called AAA and rep put me on hold tp get an update. Hold time wqs just amazing. I just left the car with a note and Ubered home. But held on the line to see what AAA would say. I just hung up when I got home. AAA never got back to me. Filed a complaint and asked for a call back. No one responded. They said sorry and they will have a team reach out in 48 hours to offer membership discounts. No call back. I called back again to follow up and the rep told me they never offer any discounts and there's no team for membership retention. Also no notes on my account for any of this. Bye bye #AAA No more wasting membership fees when I can't count on your service. Hope not everyone goes through what I went through to realize this waste of time and money. (Side note. It was a quick and painless Tuesday morning taking care of my DMV registration and getting an insurance quote. AAA opens at 9am. I arrive at 8:55am and I'm the 10th person in line. Really? They open doors exactly at 9am. As we all walk in and talk to customer service, they send us to our appropriate spots or to just have a seat to be called. It took about 5 min before my name was called. Paid by check. Bada-bing, bada-boom. Just like that, received my new tag and I'm too see the next person with my insurance quote. Ten minutes with the insurance guy and I'm out the door. Now, I've been here on a Saturday morning as well at about the same time, except the lines are about 15-20 people deep! They do, however, keep the line moving and keep things as efficient as possible, but like all other places there are only certain things one can control. Like, they can't control the customer from asking a multitude of questions or if that same person is asking the questions in the wrong area. The person behind the desk just calmly and kindly directs you to someone else who can help you so that they can expedite the line and serve the next person.
