We've used the Magical Express at least 7 times now, and never had any issues. I recommend it, and it's very easy to use. If you have your Magic Band ready when you get off the plane, it's incredibly easy, and you just walk up and scan your Magic Band and they tell you what line to stand in. Line 10 is AKL for both villages and Coronado. A personal gripe of mine; I don't think Deluxe resorts should have to share busses. Before this trip, we'd always stayed at Polynesian and Grand Floridian. They are both Deluxe resorts, and they share with Contemporary, and all of those resorts are right next to each other, so it didn't really bother me. But this time we were at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we stopped at Art of Animation and Pop Century before getting to AKL. I just think the Deluxe resorts are so much more expensive that they could get their own busses. In any case, I landed at the airport at 3:45, was on a bus by 4:15, and on resort at 5:07. I don't think it's worth the cost of an Uber to get there like a half hour faster, but that's up to you. One thing that's great about Disney is that you don't need to worry about transportation at all once you get there, and I really appreciate that. And if you check bags, you don't even need to get those, and they'll deliver them right to your room. I had a very early flight home though, and they picked me up excessively early. I got picked up at 5:30am for an 8:30am flight. I didn't have luggage, but if I did I could have checked it at the resort, so no one needs to be at the airport that early. I sat around for a good 2 hours before my flight. That might have been worth taking an Uber just so I could sleep another hour. It's still a great service though, and I plan to use it again next time. There's really no reason to spend extra on transportation when this is included with your stay. read more

During our Disney vacations and staying at one of their properties we always use the Magical Express. It's great if you don't need to rent a car as you can use this bus service from and back to the airport. I highly recommend it. Then just use the free Disney transportation to get to parks and shopping. Never had a bad experience! Clean and comfortable buses, with professional courteous drivers. Charging ports on the bus along with TV's showcasing Disney info and trivia. They have this down to a science. Be sure to tag your bags correctly, and they will get them for you, and they magically show up at your hotel. The buses run on specific schedules and based on the time of your flight be prepared to leave a bit earlier to the airport. I read this service will end in 2022. Sad, as it's a terrific perk. read more

You will be picked up from the airport (MCO), taken to your resort hotel and taken to the airport after your stay. One really great perk is that they will pick up your luggage for you from the baggage claim upon arrival. Also, will check-in your luggage at the resort before getting to the airport for departure. Unfortunately that has been discontinued due to the pandemic. Now you have to haul your luggage on your own if you choose to you this service. Reservations are required if you do decide to use it. Makes the process run very smoothly. Sad this is going away, but excited about the new project for the train that will take you from the airport to WDW resorts. read more

So, do you believe in magic? When I was younger I really believed David Copperfield had the ability to make the statue of Liberty disappear, but as I grow older, acts like Penn and Teller (or the hilariously incompetent act-within-an-act machinations of Gob Bluth) taught me that magic is often driven by illusions and willful self-deception, and then the fun became less the actual magic and more "let's see how this works and how did the rubes eat this one up". The magical express is yet another linchpin in the shiny smoke-n-mirrors set sold to us by the Disney company. First, let's make it clear that it's not a free service - the bus service is covered by your resorts tab. When I elected for an all-inclusive in Cancun the airport transfer-to-hotel is a part of it, and as such, it's a similar set of expectations here. Second, considering the "magical" aspect of the express i.e. if you receive the tags someone doing baggage handling at MCO (the code for Orlando International Airport, formerly known as McCook Field) will pull the bags aside and send it to the resort rather than to the baggage carousel, someone at Disney boned the magicians as I got the arrivals letter and the baggage tags at home 2 days after I arrived in Orlando - never mind that I had to head to New Orleans for work a week prior...Disney seem to have issues listening to the needs of their customers. The entire "oh look I didn't have to drag my luggage from the far end of Terminal 1, hop on the Peoplemover, walk across A-side of the main building, and then down to the far end of B side to hunt down the bus lines, isn't that magical" narrative didn't apply, and once you are at the Magical Express departure area you will run into multiple queues...how very much like their theme parks, and for this one you cannot Fastpass your way through. So it's slightly less magical. Well, there is a little bit of magic - when I saw the bus it looks like the Operators of the motorcoaches either reads "Mears Transportation" or "Maruti Transportation", and for this one it's Maruti and the driver looks Indian...he reminded me of my friend's Gaurav's father, who just so happen to be Gujarati. He helped us load the items onto the luggage area under the main cabin, and afterwards we climbed on board to the usual "decal windows with TV screens, somewhat clean and somewhat cheery" modern long distance motorcoach experience. We buckled up, the bus doors closed, and our supposedly Indian gentleman identified himself as Liam. The unexpected part was when he did his welcome/ introduction he sounded like Ray the Cajun firefly from "The Princess and the Frog" - and I don't mean the voice...it was the accent, the mannerisms, everything - we instantly wondered if he's Indian...or Cajun. It's really that unusual. Was it delibrate? We can't figure this one out. The other aspect of the magic was how Disney managed to convince you that the airport is owned by Disney and there's nothing else interesting otherwise between WDW and MCO. How? MCO is located east of Orlando, and traditionally you go through Florida State route 527 west towards Orlando, Southwest down Interstate 4, go past the numerous other theme parks and off-resort hotels on International Drive and then exit near Epcot. What Disney did instead was to convince Florida authorities (with about 75 million dollars in private contributions) to extend the Central Florida Greenway from MCO southwest towards Celebration (which is, surprise surprise, right next to Epcot), so the southern branch of that expressway is used heavily by Disney Magic Express buses taking customers directly from the airport to Disney resorts while avoiding I-4. Why yes, it's all surrounded by verdant fields and not much else, and it does so well to shield you from ever having to see Orlando, Dr. Philips, their competitors like Universal Studios, SeaWorld or the ridiculous amount of cheaper off-resort lodging/dining options on International Drive. Why in that regard it is downright magical - disappear down a green tunnel south of MCO and *pooof* you are magically transported onto Disney property in 25-30 minutes. I am sorry, was that Disney International Airport you flew in from? I swore there's nothing else in the area. So yeah, not quite magical, not quite terrible, just a semi-questionable transfer service between an airport and a resort. Although I have been to Disney dozens of times when I lived in Tampa, I had never needed to use this service. Included in your resort stay, this bus picks you and most importantly, your tagged luggage from Orlando airport. The tags arrive in the mail a few weeks after making your reservation. Be sure to confirm departure if you change flights after reserving. You can do this upon arrival at the airport. It is a bit of a walk to get to the buses but pretty easy to find. The buses leave approximately every 20 minutes. We had a very short wait for a bus. Very comfy roomy seats with charging ports and TVs showing all things Disney with trivia game. On the return, they will give you instructions on pick up time, resort airline check in option on the night before your departure. The Magical Express is included when you book at a Disney resort. However, check the times it operates because it isn't open 24 hrs. Any flights that arrive after 10p will not be able to take advantage of the service. Pro Tip: before your trip you'll get luggage tags in the mail. These are attached to your checked luggage and indicate you get Magical Express treatment. Make sure you have a tag for every checked bag and if not, call in advance to request more. Otherwise you'll have to pick up luggage at baggage claim before boarding the buses. The buses for Magical Express is a bit of a haul from where planes land. You will take a shuttle to another terminal and walk to the far end of the airport to check in. Based on the resort you're staying in, you'll be placed into a line to wait for the next bus. The ride to your resort is 30-45 minutes. A video is shown about the parks and rides, some cartoons. The seats are big and comfy plus a restroom is available. Your luggage will arrive at your resort later, up to 3 hours later, so make sure anything you need quickly you pack in your carry on luggage. Luggage will be placed inside your room. Before leaving the resort you'll get a letter with a time for departure. The bus picks you up in front of your resort and luggage can be checked in at the resort, eliminating the need to do it at the airport. We also got our boarding passes. You show up at the airport and can just go straight to the resort; you don't have to worry about picking up your luggage. Update time. After not using DME for our last two Disney junkets we did for this one but mostly because everything we happened last minute. We left for MCO on January 5th and on Christmas there was still was nothing fully planned or paid for. As usual, I digress. A few things about DME: 1. If you book very late they obviously will not send you anything in the mail prior to your departure. If you're one of the precious infants who wants your luggage dealt with you'll have to go to the DME welcome center when you get to MCO which in a way is nuts because taking it on the bus with you is honestly the way to go. Take your luggage and know where it's at the whole time, or roll the dice and even if things work out it'll be a few hours until you see it again. Thanks but it's not that big of a deal to collect my bags and then go down a level to the 1st floor where the DME picks up/drops off. 2. People who are saying "we called Disney" are funny because this service is not staffed or serviced by Disney. It's Mears Transportation and honestly we've never had a bad driver. Both guys loaded all bags themselves and go everyone seated fast and efficient even for the return trip to MCO which left Coronado Springs at the barbaric time of 2:45am. 3. Coronado is the first stop in each direction on that route so that makes things very easy. Ten minutes in line at the airport, twenty-three minutes from MCO to Coronado and on the return trip we had to stop at all three All-Star resorts but even then door to door it was 45 minutes to MCO. So easy. The only issue that we had was one that was Coronado Springs centric. For the return trip we extended our departure a day last minute and while I though I took care of that with the front desk at Coronado, they said they would input our flight information so that our DME would be updated, of course that never happened so the night before we left I'm calling DME at 9:30pm to gets things figured out for 2:45am the next day. Nice. In the future I'll go back to renting a car at MCO as it's too easy and too cheap not to and Disney bus service as good as it is to places like MK and EP, really lacks in comparison to HS-AK and the water parks. But honestly, ignore most of the negative stupidity about MDE. It's free and there are always trade offs in life when anything is "free" and everything you need to know/do is well explained on their website or in the literature you get before your trip. If there are any issues just give them a call and they really are great to deal with. If there is a problem, more than likely, it's you. read more

I was in Orlando for the IBM Connect conference and certainly didn't have any time to visit the Magic Kingdom or any of the umpteen theme parks in the surrounding area. Catching a ride on Disney's Magical Express was my one and only shot at an E-ticket ride on this trip. You don't remember what an E-ticket is? What are you...twelve or something? An E-ticket was what you redeemed many eons ago at Disneyland for a ride on the can't miss rides like the Matterhorn Bobsleds and the Jungle Cruise. The Magical Express was no E-ticket...more like a zzzzz-ticket. Don't get me wrong. It's very organized at the airport, much like Disney World is with all the different hotel destinations marked clearly and roped off into different queues. I was told to take Express #5 since I was staying at the Port Orleans Riverside (see photo). The driver cordially took my bag, and I hopped onto a rather luxuriant, air-conditioned bus with several TV screens mounted to the overhead compartments. The little blonde girl across from me was so excited that I could read her thought bubble... "Oh Mommy, I'm so happy to be here. Thank you for taking advantage of the Bush tax cuts and your sizable divorce settlement to take me and that useless little brother of mine to the Magic Kingdom. Why couldn't Daddy come with his new girlfriend Tiffany?" My thought bubble was saying..."Dammit, my hotel better be the first stop. I don't want to be stuck on this bus with those brats. And get off my lawn while you're at it!" It's a half-hour ride timed to the half-hour commercial they show on the TV screens of all things Disney. Yes, it was one long infomercial of a ride with no scenic distractions to be seen en route. Sure enough, my hotel was the first stop. Must have been the good karma of my thought bubble. Must have liked it so much that I booked it for my return home even though my 6AM flight meant the Magical Express was coming to pick me up at 3AM. I was a zombie by the time I got on the plane, but I can't complain when it's free, right? I can claim pure stupidity since I was on a business expense account. Fairly easy process-- not in my case, but that's because I failed to read my itinerary prior to my arrival. I had a Delta flight and had no idea where to catch the bus. I called my agent and he informed me the directions were there.. DUH. We had to catch the tram which only took about two minutes and head over to baggage claim. There are arrows which point you over to where the line is, and you scan your magic band and the employee tells you which line to stand in based on the resort you are staying. The numbers are clearly marked and it's a short wait. One thing I noticed was many people neglected to provide the employee with a tip. I understand it's not families complete luggage because Disney sends your items directly to your room, many people still have several carry-on bags, it's very hot outside, and it's a lot of work for the drivers-- would it really hurt to give them a couple bucks? Disney's Magical Express is the best airport ground transportation service that I have ever experienced. The free service take you from Orlando International Airport to your Walt Disney World resort (on-property). Signage from the arrival concourse is clearly marked. At the check-in area, you may use your Magic Band to check in for the bus and you will be directed to the boarding queue for your resort. Disney's Magical Express supplies luggage tags so that checked luggage may be put right on the motorcoach. You don't have to claim it at baggage claim. I almost always stay on Disney property so that I could avoid having to get a rental car. The lines for a motorcoach can be very long if you stay at one of the budget resorts like one of the All Star resorts. However the lines will move fairly quickly and soon enough, you'll be on board a motorcoach and on your way to your resort. The location of the motorcoaches is on the ground (1st) floor of the B side of the MCO airport. The driver will help you with your luggage if you're not taking advantage of their luggage to your room service. During your ride to your resort, the driver will put on a Disney video to give you important information and tips as well as a cartoon short to keep the kids entertained. When it comes time to go home, they will hang your transportation notice on your door. Make sure that everything is in order before you go to sleep. On most occasions, the flight number gets changed, so you will have to call them to update your pick up time. Overall the Disney's Magical Express has been awesome and I will continue to use this service every chance that I can even if it means that for the most part, I will have to remain on Disney property for the duration of my trip. read more

This service is EXCELLENT and although it is attached to Disney, these fabulous bus drivers are not Disney employees. No one on my bus tipped these gentlemen! Since when is it ok to NOT TIP people who handle your luggage or provide a service like this? I learned from one of the bus drivers today that they are on a low minimum hourly pay because they're supposed to live on tips. Your all inclusive vacation should not be without responsibility to your fellow man. Model decent behavior for your children, people. Magical Express works well.... If you do not have a flight delay and arrive before 10 PM, otherwise be prepared to pick up your luggage. Note: When we called to let Disney know that our 6 PM flight was delayed three hours, the Disney agent told us that she could not help us and asked us to call our Disney certified travel agent at 5 PM on the Friday of New Year's Eve weekend from the airport. Obviously, they weren't open at that time. It was not fun to drag our bags through the airport to get to the Magical Express on the other side of the airport at midnight, but at least we did not have to wait for our luggage. Magical Express works well.... If you arrive and get a seat when the bus is mostly full, otherwise be prepared to wait upwards of 30 to 45 minutes waiting for more passengers to fill the bus. While you are waiting, pray that if the child sitting three rows behind you vomits, the bus driver will be helpful to the stressed out parents of the little toddler who does not feel well as they are carrying their crying, vomiting child down the aisle as they exit at their resort. Magical Express works well.... If you are the first stop on the shuttle, otherwise be prepared to get a magical tour of the other Disney properties at midnight (especially if you are the poor unfortunate soul to be staying at the last stop on the tour- I think we got the VIP tour of either four or five additional resorts). It took us over 2 hours to get to our hotel after missing our other daughter by 10 minutes on the shuttle. She arrived at the room 90 minutes before we did. Magical Express works well.... If you like leaving your vacation really early to get back to the airport (sometimes even arriving before they can check you in for your flight). We don't, so we rented a car and left directly from the park after spending a full day at EPCOT. From the parking lot to the airport car rental took about 30 minutes including filling gas at 6 PM. This is a great service if you want economical transportation to and from a Disney resort hotel, and do not want to rent a car or pay for a taxi/uber for 21+ miles. I was in a group of three, arriving around 7pm. I would recommend not using the luggage delivery service, just pick up your own bags, take them to the pick-up area, and it'll be on the bus with you instead of in the hands of someone else being delivered at who knows when. The problem is that it is a long walk from the A side (Southwest and a few others), and having to retrieve your own bags may be a deterrent for some, but it's not a big deal for me. Signage in the airport is there, but is minimal. Upon check-in to the service, there wasn't a long line, but the wait depends on the people ahead, if they're confused or don't have the magic bands. I scanned the magic band and that was pretty much it, they told me which line to go in and we went directly on the bus. The travel time was around 30-40 minutes, making 2 stops before my destination (Port Orleans Riverside). On the return to the airport, we got information regarding the time of pickup and what to do the day before in the room. My pickup was 3 hours before the flight, and we got there about 2 hours before due to a pickup delay issue at another hotel. Overall, it's a nice offer for a slightly longer travel time, but if saving $40+ (x2) isn't worth it, then take a taxi or uber (but that also depends on the size of your group). read more

One of the benefits of staying at the Disney World resort properties is that you are able to utilize Disney Magic Express to and from the airport directly to your resort. If you arrive before 10pm at the airport they will even pick up your bags from baggage claim and have them delivered to your hotel room. We unfortunately arrived late due to a flight delay, so we had to pick up our own bags, but it was still convenient to take our bags to the Disney transportation area, check in and we were off to our resort in no time. On the way back to the airport, make sure you check in at your resort and you can have all your bags checked and transported to your plane without the hassle of carrying them around and having to check them in at the airport. This was especially helpful since there was some time between check-out at our hotel and the time of our flights. Since we had checked our bags at the hotel already we were able to spend some extra time at the theme parks before our departure. The buses are all well-maintained and the ride to and from the airport was hassle-free and quick. Definitely take advantage of this service if you can. read more

6 stars if it were available! We checked our luggage in Oakland and placed the tags that the Magical service provided on our luggage. Upon arrival into Orlando airport we headed straight for the motorcoach to our hotel without any bags. Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a Disney staff member that had our room keys ready and gave us a tour of our resort. The best part of the magical service was, sometime between when checked into the hotel and came back to our hotel after dinner, our luggage had magically been delivered to our room. Even better, when it was time to leave we dropped our bags AND got our boarding passes for our flight. Then the bus took us to the airport and all we had to do was go through security. read more

It IS a free service, and you do get what you pay for, right?? I'm sure the whole experience is a whole lot more magical when you aren't the first one on the bus and then the last to get dropped off, as we were when we arrived in Orlando. It was, however, pretty cool to not have to worry about getting our bags from the baggage carousel, and it was sort of Magical that they were delivered to our cabin on the Disney property, even after we changed cabin numbers. The night before we left our boarding passes magically appeared at our cabin with a note on how to handle baggage check in and what time we needed to be waiting for the bus. We delivered our luggage to the main desk just after check-out time. They warned us that we wouldn't see our luggage again until we arrived home. Fine, we planned on spending the rest of the afternoon at the pool, so that worked out just fine. The bus picked us up right on time, but guess what, we were the first of 5 stops before we were to get on the road to the airport, and because it is hooked up to a GPS activator the video monitors weren't trying to entertain us with some Classic Disney cartoons, instead we got to look at a 10 second loop of Disney Magical Express logo for the first 35 minutes of our journey. Not too Magical. When we arrived at our home airport our luggage was totally drenched, as though it had been sitting on the tarmac waiting for our plane to leave for 5 hours, in the rain. We asked around, no one else's luggage from the same flight was dripping wet. TOTALLY NOT MAGICAL!! My suggestions to Disney would be: -some fun Disney entertainment on the bus monitors would be so easy for y'all to achieve and make the wait a little more magical. -protecting my luggage from the elements is not too much to ask. Once you have taken responsibility for my luggage, be responsible for it, please. The driver makes an announcement first welcoming you and then tells in which order the motor coach will stop at the resorts. A video on the tv's play a safety message featuring the famous driver Gus and a welcome video featuring many of your favorite Disney characters. Before long you start to gaze out the front of the coach because you know the Main Gate is nearing, goosebumps, as your vacation now begins. Goosebumps again as you pass under the entrance to the Magic Kingdom resort area. The first stop we were and as we exit the coach a cast member welcomes us, and the magic begins... ...we had to leave the magic, it's never over, but the vacation was. The Magical Express picked us up at our resort hours prior to our departing flight, departing, and the journey away from the Happiest Place on Earth begins. A tear, sometimes tears, but leaving is always incredibly sad. Checking in at the Disney Welcome Center on the lower level, B side of Orlando International Airport was quick and easy. They confirm your registration there and also schedule your return transportation for your departure date then whisk you off to your hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned bus complete with video monitors feeding you tons of Disney magic. Prior to my trip they mailed me a packet of maps and bus vouchers along with a pair of luggage tags specifically printed with my name and the Disney resort which held my reservation. This free shuttle service runs to and from Disney Resorts and hotels. Did I mention that its FREE ?!? FREE!!! The big caveat is that you must be staying in a Disney World hotel or resort. Still, at $21 dollars per person per trip for a private shuttle from the Orlando Airport ($66 pre tip for a taxi, one way) you may find yourself quite motivated to book in at a Disney Resort (at least the first and last night in the Magic Kingdom, to recognize this great benefit!) Like most things Disney, it needs to be pre-booked well in advance (although we just booked a few days prior before a big holiday weekend, and it all worked out fine for us.) I found it insanely and strangely difficult to figure out how to make a reservation on Disney's Magic Express after reading about it on other Disney blogs, but eventually I was able to figure out that there was a link on my Disney Resort confirmation email to their booking and reservations site. If Disney can do anything well, it is transportation. If you are staying at a Disney resort, DO NOT rent a car. Take the Magical Express...you may have a long wait at the airport during peak season, but you probably won't wait more than 30 minutes. The ride is only about 35 minutes...the bus is comfortable and even has a brief Walt Disney World video intro and some cartoons to keep you entertained. On the way back to the airport, make Magical Express arrangements and give yourself plenty of time to take the bus, get through security and get onto your plane. You may have to stop at multiple hotels, so stay on the safe side with some extra time. There is a special luggage pick-up service that you can get with the Magical Express where you make reservations ahead of your arrival, place special tags on your bags before you leave your initial airport, and then you don't need to get your bags at baggage claim...Disney collects the bags and gets them to your room. When in Orlando - and visiting Disney - leave the driving to Mickey's Friend in the Magical Express. They take care of your luggage for you (make sure to have your DISNEY ME bag tag on it) because the bag will magically show up in your room when you get there! Now they do offer service back to the airport as well - ask for three hours to get you there before your flight leaves -- we refer to this as the Magical Depression as the kids cry the whole drive (sad to be leaving). Have to say it would be nice if they gave you a bottle of water or maybe a Mickey Ice cream (hahaha) when you board as it is typically a 45 min drive back. Highly recommend this service vs any car service or rental. read more

We were lucky enough to get a complimentary "minnie" van on the way to the resort knowing we would have to ride the magical Express to return to the airport. First all of our airline information was inaccurate from the name, to the flight number and time. We missed our first bus but called immediately to schedule the next one. When the next one got there we were told that they would only have room for one person and not our entire party. The representative never asked how many people we had in our party, she just ask to verify my name and resort. Needless to say I was a bit annoyed but eventually my ENTIRE party was able to board. As I am waiting to get off the bus now and less than 5 minutes from the airport, the bus is more than half empty. Clearly the driver doesn't deal well with change but the experience was less than magical. read more

This complimentary shuttle service is your first and last interaction with the Disney experience of any trip. The buses are huge, with plenty of leg and storage room. They show a fun, and somewhat informational, video on the various resorts and parks that Disney has to offer, along with some tips on how to ease your check-in process. When it wrapped up they showed a Classic Donald Duck animated short... not gonna lie, it brought me back to me childhood when these would regularly air on the Disney Channel. As the Donald short was ending we were pulling into our resort (same thing pulling back into Orlando International Airport on the way home), I have to give them a lot of credit on their timing of the video syncing up with the drive. The buses arrived, for pick up & delivery, on time. The drivers and attendants were more then pleasant, with that added Disney charm we come to expect. This is one of the few services that is free that I truly trust. If you are traveling to Orlando International and staying at a WDW resort, it only makes sense to use Disney's Magical Express. It's a free service where your check-in bags are delivered to your hotel room so you can bypass baggage claim. Additionally, you get motor coach transport to your WDW resort. I've used Magical Express many times and it never fails. You need to set it up in advance, so be sure to call Disney while you're still at home, since they will mail you special luggage tags to put onto your bags so they know to deliver them to your resort. Note that there are times where you would have to go to baggage claim yourself (e.g. if your flight is super early or super late) but for the most part they do a good job. When leaving WDW, the motor coach will pick you up around 3 hours before your flight. Utilize the airline check-in at your hotel so you don't have to check-in any bags when you get to Orlando International. Overall, this is an awesome service that Disney provides - I highly recommend! read more

Disney is awesome. Let's just put that out there. The Magical Express is wonderful, especially if you have other excited patrons on board. The walk down the ME is part of the experience and the magic..and it's made extra magical when the cast members greet you and your children with excitement and smiles. Helpful tips: Put your yellow tags on your bags before you leave home. Once you drop them at the airport you'll see them next in your room! So much easier to not worry about your bags when you're carrying a baby or toddler, amiright? Stow your stroller and carryons under the bus, climb aboard and get ready for Disney music and cartoons on the TVs. Most busses also have a bathroom in the back, fyi. Tip your driver--they work damn hard driving all day and catering to tired kids and parents. If you make your resort reservation before your flight, call Magical Express directly and give them your flight info so you can get your luggage tags mailed to you ASAP (if your trip is less than 30 days away). Customer service is always top notch with them and the nail service is super quick. Get excited as you run towards the busses and the cast members waving big Mickey hand gloves at you, you're at DISNEY WORLD!! read more

We used the Disney's Magic Express it was a great experience. We didn't check any bags so we didn't use their tags they sent us for our luggage. We only had carry-on baggage which the driver helped us with, with the airline charging $25 per bag each way, we decided to save the $100. So we didn't check bags and use their luggage service so I can't say anything about it. We got on a bus immediately as we passed through the check-in area and within 10 minutes were off to the Disneyland Resort. The driver remembered our bags and had them for us in minutes and deserved the tip. On our way out, Disney's Magical Express picked us up from Port Orleans at the time specified on our passes that were left on our door the day before. We only had one more stop at Florida Keys I think then we were off to the airport. It was a really smooth and pleasant experience all around. read more

Because I was staying at a Disney resort, I had the option to take Disney's Magical Express bus service to and from Orlando airport which is complimentary to those with resort reservations. They sent a letter to me months in advance with a helpful location map, and also a note reminding me to have my magic band on hand to speed up the check in process. For those checking bags, you can use the special luggage tags included in the letter and go straight from your plane to the buses after landing. The magic express crew will deliver your bags directly to your resort room, even if you are out and about, so that might be an ideal option for large families. I suggest carrying on a smaller bag with any immediate items you may need though, as the checked bags could take a while to arrive. I carried on, so I followed my map and the signs towards the bus area and found it easily. A quick scan from my magic band brought up my reservations, and I was directed into the line for my resort bus. I didn't have a wait as it was already boarding. The friendly driver loaded my bag for me, and I snagged one of the open seats near the back. The air conditioner was cranked up (thank the lord) and they had cartoons playing on multiple screens for the kiddos. Fifteen minutes later we were off and the cartoons turned into information about the different parks. There were 3 stops on my route, and I was the last one. The ride took about 40 minutes before I got to my hotel. Not bad, and hey it was free so it's hard to complain. There will be lots of screaming kids so prepare yourself. While it may not be the most exciting or relaxing ride, at least it's cool and comfortable. read more

Be sure to attach tags to your luggage before you fly to Orlando, walk off the plane and head directly to the bus. Let Disney worry about your luggage. We used the Magical Express bus for our transfer from MCO to our Disney hotel. It was super convenient being able to just walk from our terminal over the the Disney Magical Express Welcome Center. You have the option of attaching the Disney luggage tags (they mail them out to you a few weeks prior to your departure) to your suitcases and Magical Express service will make sure your luggage is delivered to your hotel within 3-4 hours of arrival. You don't have to go to baggage claim at all, head straight to the Welcome Center! However, if you're like me, and prefer to keep your luggage on hand - then just grab it as usual from baggage claim and roll 'em over to the welcome center where they'll get loaded onto your bus. The staff was quite efficient, though we did arrive super early from our red-eye flight so there were no lines/crowds at all! Will be using their services again and hoping for another easy and swift transport! read more

You might as well not call it magical call it rejectful. We were told the bus came at 6:30. woke up early and the bus is 30 minutes late. We have flights that we have to make if the bus is down get another bus to come ASAP its that simple. Terrible service had to sit out in the cold waiting for this stupid bus. I used the Disney Magic express for the first time last week for my Disney vacation and was not impressed even getting from the airport to the resort - the magic express never sent me yellow luggage tags to have the bags delivered to the room. Disney made it sound like that your bags will be delivered to the hotel room no matter if you checked your bags or not. - no better communication between guest and Disney staff not a good way to start the vacation. Returning to the airport once we arrived was a pain. From talking to another person prior to the Disney vacation that Disney drops you off separate from the pick up area and you have a special line you go through once at the airport What line is Disney talking about? This is a very convenient service the Disney World hotels offer. The bus is comfortable and provides video entertainment. The bus from the airport to hotel was quick and there was no Line. It seems that the earlier your plane arrives the better. The line for the bus at the Orlando airport can get long if you arrive after noon. Our bus however leaving to go to the airport was about 35 minutes late, which was very confusing to me considering they make a big point to not be late and to show up early. They make multiple stops, or at least they did for Kidani Animal Kingdom lodge. Make sure you report for your bus time, because you will not be allowed to take an earlier or later one. At Animal Kingdom Lodge they did take my checked baggage so that I would not have to check it at the airport. This was super convenient! Overall it was a pretty good experience. read more

Arrived Nov. 7th at 5 pm. Found our way easily to the bus. Told driver Fort Wilderness Cabins. She took our carry on bags. There were 2 previous stops. At Polynesian hotel she for got to say time to disembark.. Family of 5 missed their stop. They said something as the bus was about to leave the parking lot. She let them out there. Next stop was stated as Wilderness Lodge. We were concerned. Arrived at the lodge and asked is this Fort Wilderness Cabins. She was obviously irritated and said yes. Well it wasn't. About 15 visitors were left at the wrong hotel. How could she have been that obvious? The it took 4 1/2 hours to get out luggage. I have sent disney a review but have yet to hear from them more than a week later. Customer service appears to not be a priority. read more

When I booked my hotel, I asked if they had a shuttle to pick me up from the airport. Low and behold, there's a free shuttle service! After you book everything, they send you luggage tags. So once you deplane, you don't even have to go to baggage claim. They pick up the bags for you, and they'll end up in your hotel room later on that day. They'll also pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport for your return trip. You just have to make sure you check in, so they pick you up on time. It was fast and convenient. I'll make sure to book through Disney the next time I plan a trip to Orlando. They definitely have great service! read more
