We had a good experience with the Monorail System during our recent trip to Disney World. We took the monorail from Magic Kingdom to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and then transferred to the EPCOT line to get to EPCOT. We had no issues. The EPCOT Monorail Station is located just outside the main entrance to EPCOT. You can't miss it, and there's a Joffrey's Coffee stand right next to it (the unofficial monorail station landmark). I've read that this Joffrey's location typically has shorter lines than the Joffrey's kiosks inside the park. I think the 12 Mark VI (Mk6) monorail trains look cool. They're sort of retro-futuristic, at least for the time they were rolled out (1989-1991). Interesting Fact: While they look identical, Monorail Peach (which joined the fleet in 2011) has a unique history. It was constructed using the undamaged center cars from the retired Pink and Purple trains following an accident in 2009, with two brand-new cabs built to finish it off. Because it was "reborn" from the parts of two other trains, many Disney fans have nicknamed it the "Phoenix" train. If you want to see if you're on the "Phoenix," look for the peach-colored stripe. As of April 2024, it also features new black deltas (the small triangular accents on the stripe) and a completely refurbished interior with updated black flooring and fresh seat padding. It's one of the sharpest-looking trains in the 2026 fleet. In general, I found the trains to be on time, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The stations were well-marked, and the guest flow was handled efficiently by staff. Finally, the Cast Members who operated the trains and manned the stations were polite and courteous. The Pilots even wave at you as the trains enter the stations. All of this is what you expect from Disney (high standards). Tip: If you're heading to EPCOT, try to get a window seat. The EPCOT line does a full loop around Spaceship Earth and the World Celebration area before pulling into the station. It's a nice elevated view of the park's new gardens and architecture that were completed in 2024. read more

Disney's Epcot Park Monorail Station - Transportation Near Me - Orlando, Florida

This monorail station is always clean, efficient and an easy option to get to and from the park! My personal favorite park is Epcot, so I go there quite often as a passholder. When the park hopper feature was an option, I would take the monorail to and from the Transportation center and / or Magic Kingdom. This one is far less busy the the main rail to MK and there is rarely a long line, except at peak hours (open and close for the parks). The rail has been equipped to assist with social distancing as they have added in barriers between cars and only allow one group in each seating area. As with all Disney grounds you are required to keep you masks on at all times on the rail. Overall: A A great way to get to and from Epcot and the parking area. read more

I remember using the EPCOT monorail when I would park hop between EPCOT and the Magic Kingdom and thought how handy it would be to park your car in one park, visit the other, and then head back again. On this occasion my husband and I were guests at the Polynesian Resort without a car. We took the walkway from the resort to the Ticket and transportation center where we easily boarded a monorail headed to EPCOT. The ride is fairly quick and "loops" around Spaceship Earth before coming in to stop just outside the park. The station is clean and well organized with signs directing you. When we left later in a rainstorm we were happy we didn't have to go far to stand on the waiting platform for one to take us back. I can easily quote it using the exact cadence - the monorail system is my transit of choice when visiting Disney. I haven't had any issues with the monorail system- EXCEPT when I am trying to go to Epcot. This is where it gets unreliable for me. Maybe some days I am just not supposed to go to Epcot and other days I am just supposed to stay there instead of going back to my resort. It is annoying and unpredictable. I am just thankful when it works and I always plan for a back up option when Epcot is my destination. These trains are getting old and are overdue for some maintenance and updating, but I just can't imagine how crazy transit will be for the years that they are out of commission. I'm sure the day will come and I will complain every visit- but it is definitely about that time. The Epcot line only goes between TCC and Epcot. My monorail tip is to always go to one of the last cars so you have a little extra standing room. Be kind to the people around you and don't forget to wear your deodorant. Ahhhhh yes.... The Disney Monorail! It's just the best, most fun transportation ever! Please don't go to Walt Disney World and miss a chance to ride one of the monorails. Yes, I did just say one of the monorails. Let me break them down for you. There's 3 different monorail you can get on if you park at the Transportation and Ticket Center. You can get on the one that takes you directly to Epcot, the one that takes you directly to The Magic Kingdom, or the one that will take you Monorail Resorts and The Magic Kingdom. The latter makes a stop at each of the Monorail Resorts which are The Polynesian Resort, The Grand Floridian, and The Contemporary... also, like I mentioned, it also makes a stop at The Magic Kingdom. If you're at Epcot, there's just the one monorail which goes back and forth from Epcot to the Transportation and Ticket Center. If you're wanting to go from Epcot to The Magic Kingdom or vice versa, you'll have to take a monorail from Epcot to the Transportation and Ticket Center then switch to The Magic Kingdom monorail... or take a monorail from the Magic Kingdom to the Transportation and Ticket Center and then switch to the Epcot monorail. If you're at The Magic Kingdom, there are 2 different monorails. The one which takes you to The Transportation and Ticket Center and the one that takes you to the Resorts I mentioned above. Just pay attention to the signs, or ask one of the many Cast Members working the monorails and they'll be able to point you in the direction of the right one to get on. The Cast Members that work loading and unloading the people actually carry monorail trading cards on them. Well, most of them have the cards. Sometimes they run out and don't have them, but they are pretty cool to collect. I've never seen them just randomly give them out, you have to actually ask for one. If you notice, each of the monorails has a different colour stripe and that's what the trading cards are all about. Try to collect one for each of the monorails! read more

I only used it once, but it was much quicker than waiting for the Disney shuttle buses! THE SCENE I had a list of restaurants I wanted to visit OUTSIDE of Disney, but it proved to be a difficult task to visit any of them. First off, most were about a half hour drive from the parks. Second, a surprising amount of Orlando restaurant close around 9 or 9:30 pm. Third, after discovering my practically new minivan had a nasty ding over the rear wheel well on our first day (Hollywood Studios), we decided to take the hotel shuttle for the remaining three days. So, I also had the added pressure of having to conform to the measly 5 shuttle times available to return us to the hotel. The ONLY time that would give us a significant amount of time @ Disney for the day while also giving us enough time to get back to the hotel to retrieve our car was a pick-up time of 6:45 pm at Epcot. We started our journey out of Magic Kingdom around 6 pm, but underestimated how long it takes to make it to the entrance from Tomorrowland. We also underestimated how many people would be in line waiting for a ride. And finally, we didn't estimate AT ALL for needing to transfer from the Magic Kingdom monorail to the Epcot monorail and the wait time in between. I was highly stressed because IF we missed our shuttle to the hotel, our next opportunity would not come around for another two hours. I would miss my last and final chance to get to a local PHO restaurant thus breaking our streak of having pho in every city we visit for the past 4 years. An action drama could not have played out any better or closer on time as we exited this monorail system hauling butt like we were on fire looking for a river to jump in! It was only me, my youngest son and his best friend (which neither of these kids are athletic), but we had a long ways to go since hotel shuttles are on the far side of the parking pick up area. This is my kid who HATES to go hiking and virtually stays indoors playing video games, reading or creating a world on Minecraft. It being the final day of a four park tour and my legs were like linguini! I had no energy at all to run like I needed to run to make our shuttle. I didn't think we had even a remote shot of getting to our pick-up spot on time, but I underestimated one more thing... my non-athletic, book worm of a sons love for PHO. I'm telling you this kid looked back at me struggling to run and said "DAD, I got this! I'll make it to the shuttle and let them know you are just behind me!" After that, all I saw was a blur . He made it to the shuttle, told the driver the situation and both me and his best friend dove through the doors and collapsed in the nearest seat. FINAL THOUGHTS Needless to say I was happy with the monorail system. I was pretty upset during the ride as the train seemed to loop entirely around Epcot giving a quick tour of some of the featured attractions instead of going directly to the station. But in retrospect, had I not been in a huge hurry I might have enjoyed the tour. As with most Disney attractions, this too could use a refreshing. Disney provides many modes of transportation: buses, boats, trams...but probably the one thats most popular with guests is the monorail. You can't get everywhere on the Disney Monorail, but if you play your cards right you can get to a handful of places. The monorail system has three lines and works between three resorts and two parks. The three lines, all based out of the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), are as follows: 1. The Resort Line: this monorail makes a loop around the Magic Kingdom resort area, starting at the TTC and stopping at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom, Contemporary, and back to the TTC. 2. The Express Monorail: this one travels between the TTC and the Magic Kingdom only 3. The Epcot Line: this one travels between the TTC and Epcot If you're staying at one of the resorts on the monorail, you can use it to get to the the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Additionally, if you drove a car to Disney, you can park it at the TTC and take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or one of the resorts on the line. The parking lot for Magic Kingdom is at the TTC, so you can use the monorail to travel to the Magic Kingdom instead of taking the ferry boat over. While I do find the monorail to be a perk to staying at one of the Magic Kingdom area resorts, I feel my last few trips the reliability of the monorail has been lacking. The trains are old - they've been in use since 1991, and they're beginning to show their age. This past trip, every time I rode it there was either a delay at one of the stops or we had to stop mid-trip for traffic clearance. One morning during peak travel time to the parks they had to shut down the resort line for a safety check and couldn't tell me when it would be back up. I'm all for safety checks, but why are we doing this during peak travel time? It tells me it's time to replace the trains. It sucks because I really like the monorail system, and I wish it was as efficient and reliable as it used to be. It's not a terrible mode of transport, I just remember it being better. read more

The monorail is convenient when working and essential if you're staying in a resort. However, when we were there, it was constantly breaking down. Doors wouldn't close, the electrical system needed a restart, a/c was on the fritz. Nightmare. We took the monorail 6 times during our stay and out of 6 rides, we had 3 service delays and 2 traffic delays. Traffic delays?? If NYC can run a massive subway with ease, how is a rinky dinky monorail with 2 or 3 trains getting jammed up? It's mind-boggling and it's such a planning headache. First off there are three possible routes to take: The Resort Loop, The Express Line, and The EPCOT Loop. All three depart the TTC (Ticket & Transportation Center) and take you to one of two parks (Magic Kingdom or EPCOT) with possible resort stops along the way. And while yes, there is also the Disney Ferry system, there's just something about the Monorail that makes me always use that instead and I feel you must experience it to truly get the full Disney experience. I may be totally bias being that EPCOT is my fav of the parks, but the EPCOT Loop is my fav of the three. It's so great to get somewhat of a "coming attractions" as the Monorail gives you an overhead guided tour of FutureWorld in EPCOT discussing the various pavilions and attractions that await. It's a wonderful kick-off to your EPCOT experience. The Resort Loop is great if you're either staying at one of the three resorts or have dining reservations at either The Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian. The neat thing about this loop is that you will actually ride through the Contemporary Resort and get a birds-eye view of Chef Mickey's and a few other lounges/shops on that level of the resort. If taking the Express Line you will make a straight shot over to the Magic Kingdom, no stops, no loops, just a direct path from the TTC to the Monorail station just outside of the Magic Kingdom. Anytime we take a Disney trip we make sure our tickets are Park Hoppers so we can go to multiple parks in the same day and when doing so there is always a trip between the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT so we get to ride the Highway in the Sky. read more

The Monorail was so totally cool when it was first built and I was a kid. Now, more than a few years later, it is still awesome! Even if you have no intent to visit the infamous mouse, touring the area via monorail is a blast! Disney's inner loop transport and the 2nd line to EPCOT allow you to easily get between your hotel and to the other park without too much hassle. The only thing you have to worry about is the frequent break downs and the scent of humans - humans smell like zoo animals and it's a scent that has permeated the monorail after a time. To me, It smells like giraffes. Still, the monorail makes it easy to get to the hotels if you're staying on the line, vs Walking. read more

The beautiful thing about the monorail is that it is free, and that now you too can buy your very own monorail red to crash into other monorails. Seriously though, it breaks down constantly, holds for further tragic clearance, and can take 40 minutes + on a regular basis to get from the parking lot to the entrance of the magic kingdom. The problem is that Disney doesn't want to spend the money on this fleet that has lived an entire decade beyond its expected life span. Disney should simply invest in repairing and upgrading existing infrastructure and attractions instead of building new stuff while their existing stuff literally falls apart. It's time for a revamp. Ready? Here we go! "Back Then" - I remember as a kid, I enjoyed riding the monorail. Riding this made me feel excited to spend the day at either Disney or Epcot. It was a smooth, comfortable ride. Even riding back to the Transportation Center was good, even though I felt very tired. "Now" - During our recent experience, we utilized the monorail in favor of Epcot. We were able to board very quickly. We were also able to sit down and relax in both directions. The views to and from the park were nice and the speed was great. As far as coming back was concerned, there was no issue with that. However, there were a few things that I've noticed during our experience. One, the amount of seating was very limited. I thought that when I was younger, there was plentiful seating available. Well, I guess not. For those who board during crowded periods, you will get a seat only if you're lucky. Otherwise, you will just stand. Another thing was the condition of the trains. The exterior appeared to be quite old, and the interior showed signs of wear and tear, as indicated by the condition of the seats. Also, a musty smell was existent during both of our rides. I don't ever recall smelling that scent when I rode during my younger years. Overall, the monorail serves it's purpose. But the trains themselves can certainly use an update. read more

With the amount of space and resources at WDW's disposal, it's time for a much-needed expansion and overhaul of the monorail system. 1. More resorts need to be on the monorail circuit. 2. The trains themselves need to be replaced. The newer models at Disneyland in California are sleeker, smoother, and better looking. 3. Communication needs to improve. Due to an issue with the track, a maintenance vehicle was called out to respond. However, transportation services were not alerted. The monorail sat in the transportation station for 22 minutes before we were asked to disembark. We were hurriedly routed to another area to wait for buses. After another 20 minutes, the first bus finally arrived. Another 15 minutes and we were FINALLY at Epcot. What should have been a leisurely transfer turned into an hour-long ordeal leaving us scrambling across the park to be on time for our dinner reservations. read more

When visiting the DW theme parks the monorail systems are the best way and the fastest to get from park to park. However they will tell you the ferry boat or the buses are just as fast. As fun as the ferry boat can be at least for the experience, I have taken all 3 forms of transport and the monorails are definitely the fastest. Every time I have ridden they smell clean, they look clean. They are well organized and the lines move quickly. There are some cons such as getting back and forth from Epcot to Magic Kingdom you need to get off one monorail and get onto another as all the monorails systems take you to the transport and ticket station. From there you can go to Epcot or the Magic Kingdom. I think an additional monorail taking you to the Animal Kingdom or the Waterpark would be idea, but for now it is what it is... read more

We rode the Monorail from Magic Kingdom to get to the nearest resort (the Contemporary) in order to get a shuttle from there to Downtown Disney. It's very stupid that there aren't any shuttles going directly from Magic Kingdom to Downtown Disney and you have to ride a monorail to a hotel that you're not even staying at instead. Nevertheless, we went on the monorail. Decent enough as far as monorails go, but it definitely traveled a little too quickly for my comfort. I'm writing this Yelp after some experiences I have encountered a couple times I have the annual pass and I went Saturday to Disney with a group of people. As we were about to leave,we get to the front of the line in order to aboard the next monorail but unfortunately something happened that it took 30mins for a Disney staff to tell us that they were some technical difficulties and to direct people that were at the end of the line to go to the other monorail that goes through the hotels. It was upsetting because since we were in the front we were there longer and should have been informed first, also because we had a baby with us, not to mention that we were all so tired we just wanted to go home and as some of you know it's not safe to drive when your eyes are closing on you. Overall I think it's time to rethink the monorail system because this was not the first time it has happened to me. read more

I am a fan of the Disney World Monorail because it is useful. It takes you from the Magic Kingdom to the parking and transportation center for the Magic Kingdom, then onto the Contemporary Resort, the Polynesian Resort, Grand Floridian and Epcot and then back around again. Unlike Disneyland Resort, you actually need to take the Monorail to access the Magic Kingdom. It's also a great way to see the grounds as it gives you an elevated view of the lake, plus unlike Anaheim, the carts are optimized for viewing. It's also a great way to get some rest if you've been on your feet all day. We used it to see the numerous resorts, but also as transport between the parks and the hotels restaurants for meals. read more

The monorail is a great way to get around at Disneyworld. It is fast, efficient, and runs more regularly than the buses. It is also a more comfortable ride even if you're standing. Being a monorail, it has a very limited set of stops, but if that's where you're going then have the monorail take you there. It is one of the absolute perks of the hotels that are connected to the route, and we used it every day from the Polynesian. I was disappointed that they no longer allow visitors to ride in the cockpit, but hopefully they will find a fix for that issue soon. read more

Peach monorail is the best! Wow... I know Mark VI monorails...much better than the previous Mark IV. There are 12 of these monorails... all are different colors to help the drivers identify which one is which. I have ridden on Yellow and SkyBlue but Peach is the best! Quality ride hands-down. If you go to Walt Disney World, do not miss a ride on the monorail. You can even ask if you can sit up front with the driver! There is the one from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Magic Kingdom, the resort one, which stops at the Contemporary (the one the monorail goes through), the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian, and one from the TTC to Epcot, which goes in Epcot! The Walt Disney World Monorail System is a quick, fast, and easy way to get from Point A to Point B. My personal favorite park is Epcot, so I like to travel there a lot when i am visiting. The only reason I give 4/5 instead of full 5 is that this station is always very crowded with people who've decided to leave the park and travel to the TTC, or the Magic Kingdom, or wherever. And when it's raining, that just adds more people. And forget when the park closes. It's like a stampede. But for some weird reason, the monorail is never really too crowded. But then again, lots of people wanna ride the monorail, the WDW transportation system, and whatever. But the monorail is a clean and smooth way to travel to/from MK, Epcot, The TTC, and the Magic Kingdom Resorts (Contemporary, Polyneisian, and Grand Floridian). read more

the disney monorail is a treat, my husband and 2 kids managed to have a ride right up front with the driver, i could not go as i had to stay with our little boy with pushchair and there is only room for 3 or 4, try requesting it when you walk up to the barriers, especially if they are not busy, makes a nice change from busing or driving to the parks, there is access for all and all disney staff are very helpful with disabled passengers. you can also use the monorail on a daily basis if you stay at the grand floridian, polynesian, or the contempory - which has some building work at the moment although i do not think this affects guests. also a nice quick way if you want to park hop from mk to epcot. read more

I love riding the Disney Monorail. 2005 was the last time we visit, and this time we were excited to sit with the driver. Sadly they don't allow that anymore, after we got home from Disney, I found that stopped having passengers sit with the driver because of an accident, several years ago. I'm sad about that, but oh well. Now they have 1 monorail track goes directly from the ticket center to the Magic Kingdom without stopping at any of the resorts. The other track stops at the resorts. For the Epcot one they need to add more trains, so you're not waiting so long for the next one to come. I can't wait to go back to Disney again, and ride the Monorail again. read more
