I'm very disappointed in my last interaction with this place. I had an appointment scheduled for Saturday. Found out Thursday night that my cousin died and the funeral was Saturday so had to cancel. I called Friday morning and got no answer and no option to leave a message. I had to go into work and in my work setting I cannot have my phone and have no access to one. At lunch I went out to my car and called to cancel and was told I'd have to pay the cancelation fee of 25%. I explained the situation and the lady who answered the phone showed no sympathy or empathy and repeated it was policy. My appointment was to be at 9am Saturday. Found out about funeral at 8pm Thursday. Called Friday at 7am before walking into work and can't leave a message. Called around 11:30 when I took lunch. I even offered proof, which I shouldn't have to do. Now I get a lot of people screw companies over and why they gave this policy, however, in some situations it's beyond our control and they need to show grace. I've had mostly positive experiences and great results from this salon! I determined it was worth the extra money. Then I had one bad experience where my highlights looked basically the same as when I walked in the door. The stylist did a "shadow root" but it did not blend at all and I suspect she forgot until last minute because she rushed through it. I was mostly upset due to the cost based on the results of my hair. I emailed the owner who responded right away even on a holiday... and i sent pics...but her suggestion was for me to schedule another appointment with her (the owner). she had no openings that worked for me due to the holidays and I really didn't have more money to spend on my hair so i had to live with it. I do recommend scheduling with an experienced stylist there, though - I am just a bit gun shy now and found a more affordable place. read more

I'd Like to share my experience with working with Alyssa, as it's been very different from what was described elsewhere. Alyssa has always been extremely honest and upfront with me about what can and cannot be achieved in a single appointment. She takes hair integrity seriously and never promises unrealistic results just to please someone in the moment. If a goal isn't attainable safely, she explains why and offers realistic alternatives- which is exactly what you want from a skilled, professional stylist. In my experience, Alyssa communicates clearly during consultations and sets expectations appropriately. Hair coloring, especially blonding, is not guaranteed or identical outcome for every person. I appreciate her honesty or overpromising. She is also focused during services, which I personally see as positive. Every appointment I've had with Alyssa is a positive one handled integrity, transparency, and skill. I will continue to book with her. read more

I would like to give more stars but after taking my soon to be teen daughter to what I thought was an upscale salon and her having a horrible experience, the owner decided to not address our unprofessional experience, but to double down on her hairstylist, which is one of the worst hairstylists I have ever come across in my 30+years of (blonde) salon experience. My daughter and I scheduled our appointment with Alyssa because her bio said she had experience with blondes. Upon our arrival, we were introduced to Alyssa and her and I discussed expectations and I also signed an estimate of $230+ for a triple highlight, toner, and haircut. Guess I should've had her sign something for me too about expectations. The goal was to take my daughter from gold to platinum, which I was told she could not do, so we went with an overall highlightened blonde. After the consult, Alyssa did not speak to us the entire time except to say she was getting another bowl of Lightner, so the beginning of my daughter's first experience at an upscale was ruined. I could see the amount of time Alyssa left bleach on her hair was inconsequential. I immediately told the manager, Heather, who told me to be patient in the end. Well her hair turned out orange with highlights not exactly what I expected from an upscale salon.. After contacting the owner, she said, I could have a free consultation to decide how much more money I was going to spend on my daughter's hair . Now I wasn't expecting anything except options moving forward but none were given except a free consultation with the owner. No thank you, I'll be taking my money and business elsewhere. read more

Was feeling old and dragged out with shoulder length graying hair. I went in and saw Sam and walked out with a pixie and feel like a new person again! Sam is a magnificent hair stylist and is also a very sweet lady. I highly recommend Sam if you need a new look or just a touch up she is amazing. read more

Phenomenal! The best salon experience I've had in years. I am growing out my gray hair, and the last salon I went to was a disaster-- even though I'm less that 30% gray they attempted to bleach my hair out and it looked like one of those rabbit fur coats with a half dozen colors from the seventies (yes I was there). Enter Samantha, who is a true color expert (at this stage I've had a few). She gave me a quote in advance for corrective color and I was soo happy with the way it turned out! My long hair is back to my natural dark base color and she blended the grays beautifully. I highly recommend her for gray blending. Overall the salon environment was excellent. Very clean and organized. The staff ( in my case Heather who recommended Samantha when she heard what I wanted) was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. This place is a gem. read more

I just got my hair done and I absolutely cannot recommend this salon enough! Literally A++++ 5 MILLION stars. Everyone there is super sweet, knowledgeable, and kind. It's gorgeous inside, and the atmosphere is casual, not stuffy like a lot of salons. It's super airy and relaxing. The best thing ever, though-- they have Kerastase products!! Kerastase is undoubtedly the BEST product line for your hair. Yes, YOUR hair. There is something for every single hair type and a simple but effective treatment to fix any issue with your hair. The joy I experienced in finding a salon that not only carries Kerastase, but has certified stylists & treatments, is just unparalleled. I literally jumped when I saw Kerastase mentioned on their website!! Honestly, you know a salon is good when they have top of the line products and know how to use them. Tori gave me a super relaxing wash & treatment, and Ninalee gave me the best, most beautiful haircut & style. I feel completely refreshed and rejuvenated!! I absolutely needed this and have been putting it off for a while; however, I had to remind myself I totally deserve this, and friend, so do you. Please do yourself a favor, treat yourself, and book an appointment with District 308. And yes, splurge for the Kerastase treatment! Your hair will thank you, you will exude confidence, and you will get compliments from everyone, but none more important than the one you get when you look in the mirror. So we had the absolute privilege of seeing Ninalee today. My daughter needed her hair done for Hartland HS Prom tonight. Ninalee advertised that she was doing free Hair Styling today for young ladies going to Prom. She was available and treated my daughter like a Queen. She did an "over the top job". She insisted on taking no money and no tip when offered. She absolutely filled our hearts with joy at her charity and commitment to her community. We will be back and thank you Ninalee. read more

Just love this salon! The owner, Ninalee, was the one who did my hair. LOVE HER! I just moved back here from being gone from Brighton for almost 30 years. I wasn't sure if I'd ever find my "Hair Goddess" again, so on a whim, I booked an appt for a cut. SHE WAS AMAZING! Not only did she give me the exact cut I wanted, but she also took time out of her day to TEACH ME HOW to do my hair. I mean, seriously, who does that? SHE DOES! First of all my stylist was so anxious to sell me the hair extensions service that I didn't feel comfortable, not only that but she was confused about was she was doing which I started loosing trust and perceived the initial anxiety. The owner agree to take care of me but then to then leave me in the hands of two young girls because among them they began to talk about the same owner who "always does the same thing, that starts with a client and does not finish but passed her job" not only that was the experience... In the end they tried to charge me $50-$60 for ORIENTATION? I went to pamper myself and end up frustrating me. read more

I really appreciate Ninalee's attention to my fine, thin hair despite her own thick, lovely locks.
