I have mixed feelings about district dogs after the major incidences at some of their other locations (the flooding and animal abuse). I've only had a handful of challenging incidences with them at the Clarendon location but overall have had a very good experience. Cons: -I had to pick up my dog earlier one day (forcing me to leave work) because my dog was deemed aggressive/nippy. When I asked for footage they said they didn't have any available to show me. Yet they have a camera available in their playrooms? An incident like this never happened again. -they're somewhat poor at answering phone calls. They should have someone available at their front desk at all times but this isn't the case. Pros: -located very close to work for me -hours are long so it works great for someone like me who may get off work later in the evening. -positive experience with puppy training here with Matt! read more

I brought my dog to be groomed. We scheduled a 9am appointment (first of the day) and it took them 5 hours to finish. When we picked him up, he was bleeding on his back. When I called to speak to a manager, they said they groomer "didn't notice" the blood and apparently had arrived late (despite the appointment being available online when we booked). read more

Dropped our dog off for a bath and grooming at noon. Didn't receive any updates until we called at 5pm, to which they told us they hadn't started his grooming yet. Once it hit 9pm, we were very concerned about him and not hearing anything. We walked past the shop to see him just sitting in the corner. We had to go in to get him because no one ever contacted us. It shouldn't have taken more than 9 hours to bathe and groom a dog of his size. They didn't do a great job of grooming him either. Will not be going back. read more

I made an appointment for my dog to get her nails trimmed. I showed up on time but unfortunately the groomer, Alisa, never showed up. The front desk informed me she is regularly late or sometimes doesn't show up at all. This was incredibly unprofessional. I'm not sure what the point of making an appointment is if the business can't honor it. Someone at the front desk tried to clip my dogs nails and was only able to do a few of them. We waited 30 min past our appointment time and Alisa still hadn't arrived. I will not be returning here based on this experience. read more

I have been using District Dogs home services for the last two years and can't imagine finding a more reliable, caring, responsible group to take care of my dog every day when I'm not home. Now that I'm back in the office knowing that Chubs is so well loved makes such a difference in my life. Jason, who runs all of the dog walking and at home services is always available and ready to help. My dog walker is terrific-she has taken care of him for more than a year now. She's so dependable. She never says no to any additional request and demonstrates that she really understands dogs and loves them. Chubs just loves her! My puppy has attended daycare 2 days a week for the past year. I can relax knowing she's there. Everyone knows her by name. I can also check in on her with their live video feeds online. Dropped off my dog for the 1-2hr Bathing. Didn't get a text back after nearly 3hrs so I called. They said it would be another 45 minutes and I'm confused as to why it's taking nearly 4hrs for my short haired 20lb dog to be bathed and have his nails clipped. I went to pick up my dog and when I said "your website says it's 1-2hrs for the bath" the manager was like "no we say 3-4hrs" and I'm like "No that's for grooming." She was clearly gaslighting me because what kind of manager has no idea what her own website says? She then goes to say they got busy in the morning. When I dropped off my dog at NOON, had they known they were busy, they should have given me a heads up to expect delays so that either I could agree to the delay or schedule for another day. The truth is, I was excited to use their service but I truly believe they forgot about my dog until I called. Adding an additional 45 minutes after my call would give them enough time to bathe and trim his nails. Untrustworthy and shady business practices. Would not trust them with my dog again. We took our mini golden doodle here to get groomed and they charged us an extra $50 on top of the base price without any communication. They claimed the up charge is because doodles take longer to groom even though her entire appointment was 2.5 hours and the estimated grooming appointment time is 3-4 hours. Even if there is an up charge for doodles, this should have been disclosed when we dropped her off. I also talked to the groomer prior the appointment and explained exactly what I wanted. She completely ignore my requests and cut off almost all of the fur on my dog's snout. So disappointed. I was really rooting for this place to be a nice addition to such a dog friendly community! Unfortunately, if they are dishonest with me about something as basic as pricing, I can't trust them to care for my dog! read more

Our Westie loves going to day care at the Clarendon location, and we love how tired she is when she comes home. The staff are very welcoming and professional, and Joe and Greg in particular are great at communicating with us. You can see how much everyone who works there cares about the dogs, The groomers are also great, and Courtney in particular has done a great job grooming our Westie. Absolutely do not take your dog here. I brought my dog in for a full groom, meaning bath and haircut. When I made the appointment online it said dogs under 25lbs would be $90, which my dog is. Expensive but I'm used to it for this area. When I picked her up later I was charged $155. Which is absolutely absurd, I have never paid close to that much for a simple bath and haircut. It is important to note that my dog is 13lbs, a foot long, and doesn't require any special cut. She just needed her hair to be cut shorter, nothing crazy. No one at the desk could explain to me the reasoning behind this price increase besides saying "it just depends how the dog is". What does that even mean. We will never come back. read more
