Ok so I do not like going to PetsMart for anything...especially for grooming. Too many bad experiences and pricey. However, I am so sad that I had to move from the building i lived in because Puppy Luv would go every Saturday and do dog grooming by appointment only. I feel so bad that I forgot the owners name, but she was so nice, helpful and out going. My dog doesn't just go with anyone. And when i dropped of my baby girl, she shivered a little but they told me she stopped after like 3 minutes. So that made me feel a lot better. I was also worried on how she will do with other dogs, and they told me she did great with them...phhew!! Thank goodness!! They told me my dog stayed still the entire time and was well behaved. They did everything I asked for. My dog also smelled sooooo good omgoodness! This place is a joke. They missed my dog's appointment for grooming and made it clear they could care less. Instead of making it as easy as possible for me for their screw up or at least showing some remorse for making this mistake, they offered the bare minimum of a grooming appointment in DC during the week when I live in Arlington. Make matters worse, I'm traveling and will be gone for several weeks, so my dog who needed to be groomed will have to wait until after - all because of their oversight. I wish they had just done beyond what was the least amount of inconvenience for them and instead of blaming it on my front desk, took ownership and apologizing. Really poor service - in their screw ups and how they try to make it right. Beware at all costs, if you can. read more

From our first meeting with Lindsey, we were impressed by how open and communicative she was, making sure that our questions were answered and mitigating any concerns we may have had. We receive a daily email with pictures that update us on how Rambo did on his walk. Our walker is Lindesy and she has been nothing but professional. At first I was hesitant to try this service due to the fact that my Dog isn't a puppy but rather an 80lbs yellow lab they cleared up my confusion quickly an informed me they service all shapes and sizes. We moved to the area back in March, and found the Puppy Luv operated a dog S'paw in our building. After sending our dogs to another boarding spot in the area they did not smell great. That Monday I noticed that the S'paw was open and walked down with our dogs to see if they could fit them in. Lindsey was very accommodating and said they could not fit them in right then, but could later in the afternoon. The dogs enjoyed their bath and no more funky kennel smell! Since then we have used them to groom our dogs a few times. Recently, we went out of town and did not want to send the dogs back to the boarding spot we had previously used. When the dogs were getting groomed I noticed that they will watch your dog in your apartment. We decided to take them up on this service. My wife had never met Lindsey or her staff, so my wife asked if they could take pictures of the dogs every time they went out. Being the abiding husband I asked Lindsey if they would mind taking pictures. Fortunately, Lindsey was very understanding and accommodating of my request. I don't ever review places but my puppy is my baby and I care when she isn't treated right. I had an appointment for last Monday at 11 that had to be rescheduled due to the grooming staff feeling sick. Totally understandable during this time. I got a call saying that they would need to reschedule it to the following Monday at 11. All is well right? Nope. My puppy was not picked up till 3:00. When I called to complain they said since THEY had to reschedule they had to fit her in since the 11 time slot was already taken. I spent $10 to have an appointment and expected to be seen at that time. They could have said that she would not have an appointment when they called to reschedule and give me my money back. When I got my puppy back she was still wet and her paws were black. This was her first grooming experience and I don't think I will be using puppy luv again. read more

I don't like to write reviews, but as a dog owner I know its hard to trust people with pets. So I wanted to personally thank Puppy Luv for saving me when I was in a jam. I work in New York City and have a wonderful dog walking service that takes care of my Fidel (chihuahua) when I work long hours. Recently I had to spend a week in D.C for work and wanted to bring Fidel with me. A friend recommended Puppy Luv because they knew that Billie, the owner, owned a chihuahua as well and might be a good fit. I emailed Billie from Puppy Luv to see if she would work with us for our quick stay in D.C and she obliged. I must admit, I am not a easy person when it comes to my dog. I asked if before we went through with the week service, if she could meet Fidel first that Sunday before I began work that Monday. She met me at the hotel and was gracious and kind with Fidel. When I noticed they hit it off, I decided to move forward with Puppy love. Not only did I get up to date information on Fidel, she took pictures of him walking so that I would be at ease. In addition, she sent me an text at the end of the walk to let me know how his walk went. I am not sure if I will be back in D.C again, but I am I know Fidel will be in good hands. read more

We wouldn't groom her dog because it's leg was broken it was too old. I also looked at her other yelp reviews and they were all negative. It's best just to back away from her. I'll probably respond on yelp. ____________________________________________________ The most awful experience I have had in 9 years having my dog. My dog is a rescue and has a lame leg. He is totally normal and does not even know he has a bad leg (he was hit by a car when he lived on the streets.) He runs faster than me and is as happy as he can be. We made an appointment for grooming at Puppy Luv for this morning. When I walked in, the lady noticed his leg and was looking doubtful. I explained what it was and she said that she was not sure they could cut his hair but they would try. I really thought she was joking - we got dozens of grooming visits in 9 years. I reassured her that she could just ignore it - he is not in any pain and has not been for 9 years. Then they called me 10 minutes later after I drove away saying that they would not perform the service for liability reasons. What liability? He is a healthy dog with an injury from 9 years ago that vets do not even pay attention to because it is a non-issue. I have not felt so horrible about my dog ever - cried on the way home clutching my baby. What a fiasco read more

I Luv Puppy Luv! I have two senior dogs that do not know they are dogs...well until they see another dog! They are my furry children and my world revolves around them. To say they're high maintenance is an understatement (well...OK, maybe it's me). Needless to say I am very picky about who I trust to leave my dogs with whether it be a vet, groomer, or a dog sitter. So when I recently moved to the DC area I was confident I was never going to be able to travel because I left all of my trusted providers back home. And well I hit the lottery when I met Lindsey from Puppy Luv! I have used their dog sitting, grooming, and walking services. Hands-down this is the best experience I have ever had. Lindsey has the ability to hire amazing staff who love and dote on my dogs as if they were there own! They have provided in-home dog sitting, pick up and drop off grooming service and have even responded to a very last-minute request to feed and walk my dogs when I had to stay late at work! I have never felt more comfortable and confident in the care that has been provided to my dogs as I have with Puppy Luv. They take a great deal of time to get to know me, my babies, and my desires and expectations. I get frequent texts and picture updates without even having to request them. My anxiety level is that the lowest level when I leave my dogs with Puppy Luv because I know they're being treated like a king and queen.
