This is Boca's premiere kosher and intimate dining experience. First time here -- I always wondered about Ditmas passing by. At one point, it was a Starbucks that got built but never opened and just sat there. I went with the Go For It burger with a bottle of Blue Moon. This burger comes with pastrami, avocado, onion ring, lettuce, tomatoes, fries, slaw and a juicy pickle. Delicious experience. We showed up at 6pm. By 7pm on a Wednesday, they were packed solid. The key here is calling ahead to see that they have what you want. When we went, they were out of briscuit and shnitzel, the two dishes we wanted. That said, the service was good and the rib eye was more than serviceable and cooked to temperature. The chicken breast was also good. The patio looked like it was the way to go but it was full. We ended up getting take out as reservations were hard to come by and we'd get food faster this way. Honestly, the place was very loud and we were happy not to have to eat there. We ordered the veggie soup which was alright but felt really good on a chilly rainy night. We ordered the Dirty Pico Taco which got soggy on the ride home and was not so good. The chicken seemed like it was shredded after it was used for soup. We also ordered the Asian Mixed Grill which was alright. The people working there were very nice & the restaurant was well staffed on the front end. Our food was ready in less time than quoted which was good. Came here with my family to celebrate my birthday. We ordered red sangria, a bunch of appetizers and a ribeye steak. My niece loved her sloppy Joe sliders. My sister loved her Boca salad. My brother-in-law had the Mediterranean platter with falafel which was very tasty. (I tried some)My brother had the wings with mango barbecue sauce. He enjoyed it very much. My sister-in-law I had the Tony fries. I tasted them. Very filling and delicious. Lots of guacamole, shredded beef, and other flavors.My ribeye steak was huge and well prepared. I also enjoyed the roasted potatoes and vegetables that it was served with. For dessert I had apple pie à la mode with a birthday sparkler. Tasty and fun. New review exactly 1 year later. Reserving on line allowed me to include only 6 people. So I called the next day to say we had 7 and a baby in a stroller. Larry, again, was friendly and accommodating but so much confusion ensued. By the time we hung up we decided reservation would be for the same time, he'd shuffle some tables, and we'd be seated outside. Fantastic. However, when we got there we were seated at a table for 10 inside. We, and the tables around us, were in a little too tight for total comfort. I'm not exactly complaining, the staff (especially Larry) tries to be flexible and accommodating to all. There was no sushi, which I recall really liking, this week. The chicken poppers appetizer was just ok. The sliders (beef and brisket) were good, as were the special fries. One burger came out very rare, nearly raw, another burger came out too well done and with bread (had requested no bread), two of the exact same dishes, pargayot, looked completely different from each other (I don't know if they tasted different), and my salad came out a bit after every one else had been served and was difficult to eat whether because the table was crowded, or because of the wrong cutlery, or my seat was too low, it was just difficult ( I ended up just bringing it home). Six of us went for the Wednesday nite Chinese buffet. Nice selection, but the sauce was the same on every dish. What food we had was OK but not nearlyt authentic Chinese or Asian. The fortune cookies were stale. Now, they have a regular restaurant part, too, but we did not try that. Check the menu on line. We weren't really happy especially since they based the mandatory gratuity on the combined food AND tax. (I don't think that is legal). Always check that! It is a smallish establishment and on the cheapish looking side. and it was crowded. It is Kosher and under the ORB. It was $33 a person for the buffet as of July 2024. We have been sitting for an hour. We had a bowl of soup. Waiting on wings and egg rolls...Thank Allah we ordered wine. Wait, the appetizers have arrived!!! The wings were the smallest I have ever seen. They were from very small chickens or large pigeons and they were over fried. The 1/2 crispy duck really hurt. Not because the leg and wing were missing. Not because it was more over-fried than the chicken wings, yes it was possible. It hurt that the privilege of eating that disaster set us back $61. Yeah, I know the mashgiach has to feed his family, I get it. I now know why forty plates of hamburgers came out of the kitchen. That was the first sign of trouble. I have been trying to not say anything but someone has to. I have been going to Ditmas kitchen for quite some time. As a former Health inspector, I see a lot of things here that just aren't right. I see them constantly handling the customers food with no gloves on and don't wash their hands. Especially with Covid being here, you think they would use common sense but they don't. I once saw one of the cooks drop a chefs knife on the floor, then pick it up wipe it off on his pants and continue working with it. When they clean the tables, and if they clean the tables, they use window cleaner, not a disinfectant. There is so much grease and dirt in the hallway, and for some reason they refuse to clean it. Then there's the holiday food packages... The food is made two or three days in advance and sits out unrefrigerated for hours and hours as they try to put all the packages together. This is so unwise and unsafe and certainly not kosher. They have a Rabbi but most of the time you can't find him or he's not there. The manager Lawrence who says he's the owner but he's not, screams at the employees right during the dinner hour. How unprofessional! The menus are paper and taped to a thin board and they are never ever cleaned and hundreds of people handle them. This place is so unsafe! read more

My son had the build your own Hamburger with fries and I had the Beef Lo Mein. I have been to Ditmas before and each time, it does not disapoint. Dinner tonight was absolutely delicious. Wonderfully cooked and an absolute pleasure to put in my mouth. I asked for Chop Sticks and they had them available. I have been back and I will be back again. I have been coming here for several years every time I am in the Boca area. I have always found the food to be consistently good. Yes they are expensive but not any different then comparable restaurants in the area. I never have left feeling like I wasted my money. I don't know if the gentleman that usually the host is a manager/owner but he has always been very accommodating when I show up. The servers on the other hand can be hit or miss about their service. I always leave happy and filled so I can tolerate a bad server every now and then. read more

Ditmas serves excellent food with attentive service. Although I have never dined at Ditmas in the evening, I have several times enjoyed lunch there. Mostly, I order the burger medium rare with crisp fries. This particular visit the burger arrived more medium than medium rare, and the fries were soggy. Still, I did not send the order back, and enjoyed it as is. In retrospect, I should have sent it back. Food should be delivered exactly as ordered. My server Ari I have enjoyed before at Ditmas. He has an engaging manner and lovely sense of humor. I have no doubt that Ari would have gladly taken my burger and fries back if I had requested. He is that kind of delightfully responsive waiter. Felt at home as soon as walking into Ditmas. Great creative detail was put into the design of the restaurant. from the wine shelves, bar top, lighting etc. all makes you feel in a high end modern establishment. We had the waiter (very friendly and informative) suggest a few highly recommended dishes (Toni's fries, flat bread, kale salad, ceviche and the biggest steak they had) was highly impressed with all the dishes. everything was tasty and served to perfection. if you're looking for a great meal and experience, this place is definitely the spot. read more

Had Mother's Day dinner here this past Sunday, and it was my first time checking out Ditmas. The restaurant is in the same location as the former House of Dog, which itself was overpriced and underwhelming in my honest opinion, so my expectations were pretty neutral coming here to the next iteration of this establishment. The atmosphere is almost identical to House of Dog - they swapped out a few minor thematic details, but the general "upscale rustic bar" decor felt very similar as soon as I walked in. One aspect of this particular building I never liked is how narrow and awkwardly shaped it is, so you'll either be seated along the main aisle or tucked in the back. You'll also be seated quite close to your neighbors. Not very open or bright inside either, but whatever, you're here for the food! Speaking of the food...I have mixed feelings about it. Our waiter started us off with an interesting candied chickpeas appetizer, which was OK, but an odd flavor combo (hummus and maple syrup, anyone?) We then ordered an appetizer off the menu which I can't remember the name, but it was basically a pan of french fries topped with guacamole and pico de gallo. Sort of like a southern take on Canadian poutine? Anyway, it was actually quite tasty. However, the main course I ordered was roast chicken with potatoes and vegetables, but it was served lukewarm and the chicken was really nothing special. My mom got the prime rib, which I did try as well, and that I can report was delicious. For dessert, we got some vanilla gelato and chocolate caramel mousse, which was good but VERY sweet! The price was pretty much what we expected, around $150 for the 4 of us, but it was a nice meal with family so worth it. Service was about average, but our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Overall, I'd probably return at some point and give them a second try. read more

I absolutely love reading the reviews of all of the people from out of State complaining about Boca Raton. Here's a thought STAY AT HOME and keep your opinions on our Restaurants to yourself , nobody cares. As for Ditmas , place closes intermittently for months at a time , probably looking for a Chef or something , don't think the original Chef who opened the Restaurant is involved anymore. Use to take my kids here regularly for an early dinner , now the Bagels at DunkinDonuts are more palatable , probably more Kosher too. read more

This restaurant is kosher certified and since there just aren't a lot of restaurants that are kosher in the area, this is a plus. I thought I found other options in the area who are categorized as kosher on yelp but upon further investigation ( due to the strict observance of people in my dining party ) actually don't have the proper certification and are just " kosher style". This place does have the correct certification which is great as a few in our party will only eat at truly kosher restaurants. The food is fine and the service is fine. Heavy meat focused menu with fish options. The Mediterranean sampler plate was vegetarian and very good. I would recommend this as an entree for vegetarians as apart from this, other options for meals were limited . I had the Kale cesar salad with salmon and it was fine. Kids liked the fries. Service was fine. Overall, it was fine- a good option if a kosher restaurant is imperative for you. read more
