I hadn't dined at Renzo's in quite some time, as we mostly get takeout, so it was nice to actually sit down and eat in the restaurant again. We sat in the dining area in the back. We ordered the meatballs, chicken parm, pasta, and a salad, and I have to say, everything was very good. It was nice to be back and enjoy the food in the restaurant. Another nice plus is that there is a discount for cash purchases, which I always appreciate. They also offer complimentary valet parking, which is convenient. The other friends we were with didn't have to valet--I think they arrived early enough, before the valet service started--but it was nice having the complimentary valet available for us. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I'm glad we decided to dine in again rather than just getting takeout. I would have loved to have shrimp a salad but the add ons were just a bit steep to me in my humble opinion. read more

Pretty standard fare for a Boca pizzeria and Italian restaurant. We arrived early Saturday evening before the valet arrived. We parked our own car. Parking lot is tight so I understand why they need the valet. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. We didn't have a reservation but got a table. A thin, crisp crust and perfectly cooked through. The mussels marinara were excellent. Plump mussels in a light, bright red sauce that had tons of garlic and herb flavor without being heavy. The burrata appetizer was fresh and creamy, served over a bed of greens and tomatoes with a nice drizzle of balsamic glaze that tied everything together. Ordered a shrimp parmigiana hero. It was a little too dry. The tomato sauce was heavy and not as flavorful as the marinara. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices felt fair for the quality. Their food is always consistent and delicious. last evening we enjoyed the Caesar salad as well as the baked eggplant and veal piccata . The garlic rolls are perfect! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is warm and inviting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and Renzo seems to always be there in the evening as well as lunch greeting customers and keeping a watchful eye over his restaurant. Oh boy, Renzo's in Boca! It's been ages since my last visit, so when my friends suggested we hit up "some Italian restaurant we've never been to," Renzo's was the first thing that popped into my head. I thought, why not? A couple of years later, it'll feel like a brand-new experience! We didn't bother with reservations, seeing as "the season" has passed. We rolled up around 7:15 PM and as a note for first-timers, it's valet-only parking. Free valet, but still valet only. We approached the valet, asking which door was the main entrance. He pointed us to the restaurant up front and the piano bar out back. So off we went to the front, only to find an empty room with employees who promptly directed us "to the back." Back outside we go, where the valet looked baffled to see us again. We explained, "they sent us back here." Yep, confusing. Inside the back entrance, we discovered a cozy little spot with a small bar, a few tables, and a piano player tinkling the ivories. We got a table right at the door--not exactly the best seat in the house, but since it wasn't busy, we didn't have to dodge traffic all night. Our server, Bea, swooped in with some mouthwatering homemade plain and garlic rolls and took our drink orders. The menu was a wild ride: pizza, stromboli, pasta, steaks, seafood--you name it. Many items, including all the meats, were market-priced. Entrées averaged $25-$30, and if you wanted a house salad, prepare to fork over an extra $7. A few $12 Tanqueray and tonics later, our meals arrived. I dove into a veal piccata ($28), while my pals opted for baked ziti ($20) and chicken marsala ($27). Portions were on the smaller side, and soon enough, I glanced around the table and asked, "is anyone else still hungry?" Cue the unanimous "YES!" So, what's the natural response? Dessert, of course. We savored some orange sorbet and a couple of cannolis before calling it a night. All in all, the food was decent, and the service was lightning-fast--we got there at 7:15 PM and were out by 8:00 PM, not exactly my thing as I like to take it slow. 1 Star - Got Severely Sick and Treated Poorly When I Called I've been ordering from Renzo's for a long time and never had a problem until now. Yesterday, my fiancé and I ordered pizza and wings from them. the only meal we ate all day. Around 4 AM, we both woke up extremely sick with vomiting and diarrhea that continued for hours. Out of concern for others, I called the restaurant to let them know what happened so they could check their food. Instead of showing any concern, the employee I spoke with became defensive and dismissive. When I said he was making me feel like it was my fault, he said it wasn't but kept arguing that their food was fine and it wasn't their fault. I asked several times to speak with the owner, Renzo, but the employee refused to connect me. He even tried to discourage me by saying the owner would be "mean" to me, which was completely unprofessional and made me feel intimidated for simply trying to report a serious issue. We're now on our way to the ER because the symptoms haven't stopped. I've always supported this restaurant and never left a bad review before, but this experience was unacceptable, both the food and the way the situation was handled. After finishing dinner, my partner and I left the restaurant through the side door near Valet. An employee wearing purple pants, arriving for work barely swiped me. I spoke with Valet asked them the name of this woman and they refused. No "adult" manager was available. I spoke with Paolo, his response was you didn't get hurt how can we move on....This was a very dangerous situation. I will not return. He told me Renzo is out of the country and leaves these idiots to run his restaurant in his absence. On top of it the food is mediocre. It's gone downhill, as I've been here almost 30 years and I've eaten here and their other restaurant numerous times. Good luck...most of the reviews have gone downhill. read more

Had a wonderful dinner at Renzos tonight. The stuffed artichoke was excellent with an ample amount of stuffing, broth, and quite a meaty artichoke. My husband had pizza, one of his favorite here. I ordered the chicken sorrentino.....3 huge pieces of chicken with eggplant and mozzarella. It came in a sherry reduction sauce which was outstanding . Cant wait to eat the TWO days worth of leftovers! The side of angel hair in the same sauce was also terrific. Leaving to go North soon and already looking forward to coming back to Renzos upon our return, This has become our "go to" restaurant for the last several years. Fantastic service and food. We dined on a busy night but were seated upon arrival and the service was excellent. I had the linguine and white clam sauce and it was a generous portion of beautiful clams in a delicious sauce. My wife had the eggplant parmigiana and loved it. I had the worst experience with the valet. The parking lot was flooded and after parking and wading through ankle deep water I was told I was parked in a pick up zone. Then when I moved my car to another spot after parking I was told I couldn't self park and instead of taking the keys in both instances I was told to move and rudely... We had dinner Saturday and we were really disappointed. I ordered the shrimp and scallops dinner served over angel hair pasta. It had 3 tough shrimp, overcooked, and 2 baby scallops over a ton of mushy pasta drenched in a pink cream sauce! The grouper was a special and were told we could have it prepared anyway we liked. First asked for blackened,waiter came back and said chef thought it should be prepared another way. So we asked for piccata. Waiter came again said perhaps another way, asked for francaise. It came also overcooked, soft and it fell apart. It was a cross between francaise and piccata and full of oil, the saving grace was the broccoli rabe. We shared a Caesar salad which was good. Shame on you Renzos !! Stuffed artichoke was like trying to eat ROOF TILES with a mushy breading top . They served it in a bowl of salt water that the artichoke sat in . This was the worst articoke ever and it was not edible . The stuffes clams came at the same time as the artichoke and they were mushy commercial frozen disgusting also . I will be posting this everywhere so the public does not walk into this nightmare restaurant ! They could fix it but refuse to and there are other artichoke reveiws with same complaint ! Nothing special. Had a cheese slice which had an odd taste. Suprising cause most of the cheese slices I've eaten have had no taste or not enough flavor. I remember having had a cheese slice at their now defunct BOYNTON BEACH location about 8 years ago which had no flavor at all. That location existed for about 3 years. From what I understand RENZO'S originated in BOYNTON BEACH about 37 years ago then moved their location to EAST BOCA which still exists today and is a dine in Italian restaurant and pizzeria. RENZO'S then returned to BOYNTON BEACH with a second location which failed. Shortly thereafter RENZO'S opened this take out/pick up location about 8 years ago. read more

Delivery review: Just ordered a branzino and they wanted me to tell them how to cook it at a price point $40. Confused I asked for them to roast it whole, crispy, ya know like a branzino is served with its skin. I received a lightly baked open fish, skin was slimy and not cooked. Very hard to eat the branzino as intended. Bately seasoned sans the decorative oregano and maybe butter. Would be fine if it had been cooked right. Kind of ridiculous for an italian place to ask me how to cook their most expensive dish. read more
