Have been hearing about this place, all amazing things. Finally got to try it. We tried making a reservation, but it was full, and this was on a Tuesday. So, you can tell it's popular. Waiting time for a table was 1+ hour, but the outside bar area was open so we sat there. The bartenders were amazing. So friendly, nice and quick. Our drinks came out in no time, again, while having a full house. Food came out not too long after and I have to recommend their hummus, and the crispy eggplant. I really can't wait to go back and had a full meal. Based on this first visit, what I tasted and their service, I understand why they are so popular and recommended by everyone. read more

What a shame that the service wasn't on par with the food. Our group of 6 came for dinner on June 1st for a special night out. The food was delicious - everything from the bread, the multiple types of hummus, salmon, chicken, muhammara... all wonderful. Sadly, the service was abysmal. Our server was friendly (when we saw him) but unfortunately he disappeared for the majority of the evening. We had to ask repeatedly for water which was filled once and never refilled in over 2 1/2 hours. We waited for our server to return, which he never did , and then we just gave up. We waited over 20 minutes after we were finished eating to try and gt our check. However, he never returned again to our table, so we took our check to the bar. it wasn't slammed that evening - just a normal Monday night. Came back here for my husbands birthday after a few months but we haven't stopped thinking about it since. We got pretty much one of every appetizer! Personally I didn't like the hummus. It was a thin hummus and I like a thicker one. The pita and the pickled veggies are my favorite. Just about everything we got was outstanding! We had an amazing server and the manager came over and was awesome! They sent over a dessert we would have never normally gotten, and ice cream sundae, and it was sooo freaking good! Prior to that, we got chicken shawarma and it was perfectly flavored. This place is so chic and charming with its bright and airy decor. The hostesses were sweet when we asked to move seats and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Just bring a jacket because it is cold inside!! Valet parking makes it easy. We came here for lunch the other day and someone told me that the chicken shawarma bowl was fantastic so I had to try. They were kidding! This bowl is loaded with flavor and had such an amazing balance of protein, veggies and their amazing hummus. I was totally blown away by this bowl and I found myself wanting it the rest of the week. Motek Boca was the choice for a much needed catch up with a girl friend. This stunning Israeli restaurant is a Boca highlight. I walked up to a beautifully decorated patio with shading and comfortable seating. As it was a nice day, I chose to sit outside. In true indecisive girl manner, it got a little too hot for me. Adrianna, my server, gladly lead me to a table inside and introduced me to Christian, my new server. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous, spacious, clean and smelt amazing. For cocktails, I highly recommend their Jaffa Spritz and Baharat Old Fashion. The menu is family style so everything is meant to be shared. The food was fresh, delicious, filled with flavor and gave off a mouth watering aroma. The service and ambiance here was perfection. Was recommended by several people to try this Israeli/Mediterranean restaurant. Was a bit crazy at the host stand. Lots of people waiting for tables. I didn't know it was Happy Hour from 2pm- 6pm! Anyway, we were seated quickly but so very close to another table that I asked to wait for another table. The decor is very lovely with a lots of tables as well as separate rooms for parties. There was a large bar as well. Now for the food- I ordered the salmon salad with watermelon & feta. Salmon was served separate from the watermelon- which I thought was good. Salad was fresh & so was the salmon. Hubby had fried artichoke & chicken schnitzel. All very yummy. I did taste the artichoke- & I enjoyed it. My only issue was that for my 1st time here, I didn't see the valet stand when arriving & that parking was difficult! I realize we drove in from another entrance. We did notice it on the way out. Amazing lunch, service, ambience. Met a friend for lunch who had been here before , and my first time in Boca. Kaylee was an incredible server-/ attentive, friendly, and explained how the menu and service worked. We ordered and kept ordering and Kaylee offered lots of advice/ help with some of the items. My husband had t stopped raving about the hummus and baba ganouch, saying it's the best outside of the Middle East he has had. We had a bunch of other dishes, names I don't remember, but everything was fresh, healthy and delicious. Salmon and chicken shawarma kabobs, falafel, drinks, etc. We sat on the spacious patio, but the inside was elegant with a beautiful ( and busy) bar. Photos don't do it justice. This was my second visit to a motek location and it was just as memorable and delicious. The Boca location is definitely bigger than the Miami location but has the same vibe. The drinks were so fun and yummy and the food was better than i remembered. We started off with the za'tar labneh with the pita - this was sooo good and not overly yogurty tasting. We also ordered the Moroccan fish, arayes, and crispy cauliflower. The fish was so flavorful and had a kick but we loved it. Honestly everything was so unique and so good. I would recommend everything we got especially the arayes, but you can skip the fries. We ended with the sundae with vanilla and Nutella ice cream which was awesome. It is really big but so delicious. I definitely will be back as they also opened a location in New York but I would want to go with a big group so we can order a lot of the menu. Our waiter Chaz was also great. Overall the service was very efficient and tentative. I really don't have any complaints. Great dining experience, super excited to go back. read more

I've been wanting to try Motek for quite some time and I finally got the opportunity to go by this past week. First impression upon walking in: wow this place is crowded! Like, it's a huge restaurant to begin with and I literally couldn't believe there were so many people seated inside and so many people on line waiting to get in. For a Tuesday it was a bit crazy. Anyway, after a brief wait, the hostess took us to our table and our waiter quickly came over and introduced himself. He then went on to explain the entire menu to us for some reason, which was completely unnecessary and a waste of time. Once the waiter moved along, we had a chance to review the menus ourselves and take a look around the restaurant. Unfortunately we, like all parties of 2, were given a tiny table to sit at. I'm sure it looked fine on paper for a couple, but when you consider that dinner here consists of a lot of different plates, tapas style, the tiny table really makes it a bit uncomfortable. I definitely was not a fan of the table size. Ambiance and service aside, we ordered a bunch of different dishes including a kebab, the hummus, a flatbread with cheese and zaatar, the falafel, a Greek salad, the muhammara and malabi for dessert. All the food was generally very good. The only thing I didn't really like was the muhammara which had a different flavor than I expected as well as a very astringent profile. Also the hummus was good, except they went way too heavy on the tahina. My favorite dishes were the falafel and the kebab. However, for the nearly $30 kebab price, they probably should have given two skewers. We got only one and it was a little bit light for an premium entree in my opinion. In the end, despite some minor criticisms, I felt like Motek was really solid. Five stars. I would absolutely head back to try more dishes and you should too if you're into Israeli and Middle Eastern food! read more

Everything was fabulous! We went for dinner and had 8:30 reservations on a Thursday and they were still very busy, we go sat on time. Our server was super friendly and a wealth of knowledge. It was our first time . We started with the classic Hummus creamy and the best I have ever had, we also did the spicy ceviche was excellent but really on the smaller side. For dinner we tried the Branzino, the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwiches, Zataar Salad and we added Falafel not one complaint. Our drinks were very good if there was a complaint the Martinis are on the small side. This restaurant sends food out as it is ready. Everything about Motek is perfection! The place is gorgeous! There is indoor outdoor seating, as well as alcoves for large parties. I have dined here several times and the service is always impeccable. But most importantly, the food is wonderful. I have had many items from the menu, including the flatbreads, Moroccan fish, and bowls (a lunch special). I have dined at other Motek locations and the food is always consistently tasty! There is a reason why Motek is always packed. I strongly suggest making a reservation, even for lunch. read more

This place is such a vibe, and the food was incredible. It's beautiful inside with a light, airy feel, and they also have a huge patio. They serve the best hummus I've ever tasted, and I've been to Istanbul for the real deal. I even ate their pita bread without getting a stomach ache, which never happens for me with gluten. Overpriced, overrated, and mediocre at best. Our table of six had a disappointing experience from start to finish. The appetizers were tiny and poorly executed -- the baba ghanoush was watery, the spicy feta lacked flavor, and the portions were so small they could barely fill a tooth cavity. To make matters worse, the appetizers arrived at different times. The entrées were no better. Two meals were served more than 15 minutes before the rest of the table received theirs, and one dinner never arrived at all and had to be canceled. For a restaurant at this price point, that level of disorganization is unacceptable. The ambiance didn't help. With no tablecloths, the dining room felt more like a college cafeteria than a restaurant charging premium prices. When we raised concerns about the chaotic pacing, a "supervisor" told us the service was "family style." That explanation simply doesn't hold up -- portions are small, individually plated, and entirely à la carte. I asked to speak with the general manager, who apologized and explained that the kitchen was having difficulties. She removed the appetizer charges and encouraged us to give the restaurant another try. While I appreciated the gesture, it didn't come close to making up for the overall experience. In short, the food was underwhelming, the service was disorganized, and the value was nonexistent. After hearing so much about Motek we stopped by for lunch last week. As it was late in the afternoon we were lucky to be seated immediately. The ambience was upscale and the place was bustling. Our server was very attentive and very helpful which made our experience more enjoyable.(I'm embarrassed to have forgotten her name!) Wow what a disappointment and the staff or at least our server couldn't get out of his own way! Tip is included so they don't care. The food is at auction meaning it just comes as it comes which is fine and some was good but most was just okay. The place is pretty for what it is but that's it. However, the wrong wine was brought twice. A kebab (yes just one) wasn't until close to closing. A burger was brought incorrectly. The mint feta and watermelon salad was a joke it was a bowl of watermelon sprinkled with feta and 3 leaves of mint for $18 that was made haphazardly. When the bill came and he went to give cards back he called the Doctor ( yep says it on the card) Dr and then miss once he saw it was a woman and she laughed and said you mean Dr and he said miss again. Had a great experience at Motek! Came on a Tuesday night during Thanksgiving week, had a 7:45 reservation and it was PACKED! I was visiting from out of town, so not that familiar with the area so parking and finding the actual restaurant was a little confusing, would've been helpful more signs. Our server was great in explaining Motek's background and food inspiration, and reviewing the menu items. My friend and I both got the chicken schnitzel which was cooked to perfection, had a small salad on the side and a delicious lemony sauce for the chicken. I got a side of the fries and my friend got the lemon potatoes. Food was a little pricey, especially everything a la cart ($12 for the lemon potatoes, $9 for a side of fries, $26 for the chicken schnitzel which). For dessert I had to try the pistachio cheesecake and it did not disappoint. Very creamy and flavorful, loved the raspberries on top! Would highly recommend. read more

I was really looking forward to returning to Motek after a great first visit, and I made sure to come back on a perfect day for sitting on the terrace. The outdoor setting was lovely -- and it eliminated the noise issue I experienced inside before. Since it was Happy Hour, I decided to give that a try. The bar program is excellent... I really enjoyed their Chablis, beautifully served in elegant stemware. Unfortunately, the Happy Hour food didn't live up to the regular menu. The portions are tiny and many of the dishes just don't translate well to smaller sizes. For example, the Corn Ribs (a small section of corn cob cut in quarters) were awkward to eat and a poor substitute for their delicious Street Corn from the regular menu. From the Flat Pita section, we tried "Lebanon" and "Italy." On the full menu these are fantastic, but during HH they're reduced to small, 4 or 5 bite pita with barely enough space for the toppings. We also tried the Chicken Shawarma and 1980 Ribeye Pitas -- both disappointing, and no one checked in when we left them mostly untouched. The Basket of Lollipops had good spice flavor but poor chicken quality, mostly uncooked skin, made it impossible to eat. On the positive side, the Hummus and Middle Eastern Chopped Salad were excellent -- exactly like the regular menu versions, just smaller portions. Regarding service, the restaurant staff is very friendly and personable. I don't find a great management presence and it contributes to the feeling that the place is very transactional... you place your order with your server, and someone from the kitchen brings it out when ready. Empty dishes, as well as items we obviously didn't like just sat on the table. Even staff members delivering food, and then had empty hands, didn't seem trained to clear plates. This area needs improvement as well as management keeping a watchful eye on the dining areas, and perhaps interacting with their guests. Dish clearing, etc. seemed better at dinner while dining inside on our first visit. Bottom line: There's a lot to like... and Motek's regular menu is outstanding, with many dishes worth coming back for. If you're there during Happy Hour, take advantage of the great pricing on wine and cocktails, maybe add a couple of basic items like the cold mezzes. But if you really want to experience Motek at its best, stick with the regular menu... this is where the restaurant shines. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

It's a beautiful restaurant, with branches and leaves clinging to the walls and ceiling inside, and a pretty space outside, with comfortable seating and lamps for each table when it gets dark. Service is super friendly. The food itself is phenomenal. Everything is pretty shareable, so we ordered a bunch of food to share for our table. The hummus is smooth and light. The Italy Oven Pizza is perfectly cheesy and comes with salt and oregano on the side to add to it. The Salmon Ceviche is smaller than expected but has great flavor, and I like that the salmon is cut into small pieces. The fries are also delicious. The drinks are just as good. The Watermelon Cooler has a kick to it but it's subtle enough to enjoy without getting spiced out. I loved it here and look forward to coming back to eat here in the future! read more

I am a huge fan of Motek. However, today's lunch in an empty restaurant was not what I have come to expect. Between the fans and the music, there was far too much noise.The Schnitt IPA was terrific, but the eggplant in hummous was too spicy. The French toast was really good, but the omelet was terrible. The place is so cute, i loved it. Only thing for owners, the sitting outside in summer for your servers should have 20% added, the way this kids were suffering (amongst us guests too) with those hot AF uniforms. We absolutely loved this place. Chaz, our server, gave us the best recommendations and was always happy to help us with whatever we needed almost immediately. Shout-out as well to the manager D who was fantastic as well, I love to see active leadership who leads by example and help customers. The ambience is very high end and feels like a fancy restaurant as opposed to the Aventura one which feels more casual. The food was actually amazing. The new York pita with pastrami was a banger. The labneh that came with the latkes was like sugary strawberry cream cheese, delicious!! And the chicken snitzel is nicely dressed up on challah. The only thing that threw me off was the pistachio cheesecake, the rose sauce our table's favorite. But the redemption came from the gelato ice cream with halva shavings, so so good and you can't tell it's Vegan. It's soo soo good!! read more

Where do I begin?! Thank you Motek for a wonderful dining experience. Chaz (our AMAZING waiter) started our evening noticing that I was eyeing the Bamba (Israeli Snack) and brought me a bag to take home. Walking into the restaurant was like walking into Israel or Greece. It has beautiful decorations and ambiance. When we were looking an the menu, Chaz was incredibly knowledgeable of all of the menu items and had very helpful recommendations. Because of him we ordered the Zucchini Latkahs which I've had before, but never really tried them with the labneh sauce (tasted like strawberry cream cheese). They were delicious. We then ordered The New York (flatbread with pastrami all on the top) (See image below) Which was DELICIOUS. I'm very glad we tried it. For our entrees Chaz saved our (pardon my speech) *sses when he told us to only get on schnitzel sandwich instead of two, because they are very large. Low and behold it was and he just simply cut it in half for us to share. It was very good, but my favorite was already in my tummy. Then for dessert he recommended the pistachio cheesecake, which we sadly didn't like. The raspberry/rose puree was a little too rosy and gave it a soupy flavor. BUT before we ordered it the wonderful manager, D had came over and given us the pistachio VEGAN gelato that they're known for. Our experience was a little disappointing because of the service. Not sure if the server was inexperienced or just having a bad day. She was nice but.... It took 30 minutes to get a hibscus ice tea. 30 minutes after being seated to have our food order taken. The food was fantastic!!! Atmosphere lively with good background music. 'Twas my first time dining here and I can say the first impression was magnificent. Beautiful decor with the tree in the center of the room and quite spacious with indoor and outdoor seating options. It was recommended that we order plates to share as everything is family style. We had the tzatziki and hummus which came with pita, lemon potatoes as a side, whole branzino and the dry aged ribeye. Although I really had no room to spare for dessert, we ordered the halva silan sundae and pistachio cheesecake as we were here for a birthday celebration. The sundae was delicious and had these delightful melt in your mouth shaved pieces that reminded me of cotton candy, but was in fact a concoction of sesame seed. While the food was good, I didn't think anything except the sundae was spectacular; the price point was high (we are in Boca after all , so no surprise there) and the service could have been more attentive. I would give my overall experience a 3.5-3.8 if I could. Would return for another meal, but not running back in a hurry. read more

We were offered a table for six where conversation would be difficult. This being particularly true as the venue is EXTREMELY loud and noisy. I'm here to describe perhaps the worst customer service experience (even for a Boca Restaurant) ever! This restaurant makes you hold a reservation by giving a credit card that the charge $40 to Immediately. They text constantly for you to confirm or cancel, but when you respond, there is no response back! Then when you call, there is no person and no place to leave a message! I stopped there on Saturday to get the charge reversed, a manager swore up and down it was taken care of, and now it's Wednesday, and I'm back talking to another manager who says it will take 10 days to get my money back! Wow! What a place. I visit Israel often, but this is finer than any place I've visited in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. Fantastic atmosphere both inside and out! We just had some mezze like cauliflower, Tabuleh babaghanoush and hummus along with Naan. The portions were a very nice in size and they taste was out of this world. We went on New Year's Eve with a reservation and sat inside since it was a little chilly unfortunately because we were only a party of two we got the crap table jammed in the corner by the wine cellar, but I guess that's what you get when you're only two and not a larger party.
