Had a pedicure 2 days ago. The shellac was either not primed or coated properly because it smudged in 2 days (yes, smudge, like old style polish would). Either bad product or poor technique. I've had hundreds of shellac pedicures and never had thos happen. Would not recommend this business. read more

I'm giving them a 3 because I'm usually VERY happy with their work, and how my nails turn out- but I'm upset that they charged me $40 just for a polish change! I went somewhere else for one, and they charged me $25- still expensive, just for redoing the gel polish, but $40?!?! That's insane and very disappointing. 2 visits in an 8 day period. The first visit was on Boxing day, when I impulsively decided it was time for a new set of acrylic nails (for the first time in about 4 years). I walked in without an appointment and was ushered to a nail station immediately. No waiting. That was nice, as they did seem quite busy. I was given WAY too many choices of colours and honestly couldn't decide. The lady asked me what colour I liked and I said purple. She said she would find something for me. While I do like the colour I ended up with, it is definitely red, not purple. The service was pretty standard. It was a pretty painless process. I did have to switch to a different station half way through because the lady who I started with had another client. So that was a little weird, but not the end of the world. The end result is something that I'm happy with. Full set came to $63 before tip. It's been a long time since I've gotten my nails done, but that seems like a good deal. A week later I took my best friend for pedicures. One thing about this place is that the front door is always a little hectic. You're greeted by at least 5 people... which is a little overwhelming. But once you're in the pedicure chair... all is well. Again, everything is pretty standard, but the price is pretty darn good! And I really love that the massage is included in the basic pedicure...so you don't have to upgrade just for the massage. If you're looking for a place that will offer you a coffee or water when you walk in, this isn't it. But they'll be gentle with your skin and nails and you'll leave satisfied. For 2 Shellac pedicures, including nail art and a leg massage, I paid $110 before tip. This will be my go-to place for a while, for sure. read more

I have been going here monthly for pedicures for about a year now. They have a couple of really good estheticians, but in my experience they completely ignore who you ask to book an appointment with and just get whoever isn't busy to do it. I have tried on multiple occasions to book with a woman who I really like, and she's always there when I am, but even though I asked for her when I called, they say she's busy and have someone random help me. Frustrating!! Luckily, most people do an ok job. Their prices are average. The salon seems clean. I've never had service other than a pedicure, but they seem to have a fairly regular nail crowd. The staff do spend a lot of time talking to each other, but they've always been friendly to me, and I prefer quiet during this me time, so I don't mind. I'm not unhappy enough to go somewhere else (most other places have been worse), but it's definitely not as positive of an experience as it SHOULD be. They don't accept credit, and their debit is often down, but don't worry!! There's an ATM right beside the til with lots of fees. Convenient. ;) read more

This was the first time that I've been here. My mom and I decided last minute that we should go for pedicures. After walking into one place who didn't have an opening, we tried Diva nails as it was close to home. We were greeted promptly and escorted to the massage chairs in the back. It was clean and the equipment seemed new. My technician was Ivy, we just got the basic pedicure for $35. She was professional but very quiet. The pedicure took about 1 hour in total. I have had pedicures in the past that can get a bit uncomfortable at times, but this wasn't the case at all. All in all, I would go back. All their prices are up front on a sign as soon as you come in and they were very accommodating. The equipment seemed clean and their sterilization station was in pain view. read more

Super unsatisfied, I paid $70 for a fill, they bubbled on me, I went back for a fix. They were super rude about it. I changed the polish so it wouldn't happen again. They charged me $35 when they were fixing it. I left with unevenly shaped nails, they shaved down the length, one nail is lumpy and the tips were missed with the top coat. For paying as much as I did I should have kick ass nails. But instead I'm frustrated and have garbage nails. Never going back, if I could rate this place negative stars I would. read more

This is the worst nail salon I've ever been to. First time was a few years ago when I was still getting acrylic nails. The manager did my nails and wanted to rip my fairly new ones off and start over when I just needed a fill. Because I refused new ones, it made her mad and while doing my nails, she twisted my fingers so hard she actually bruised and sprained them. Instead of moving my fingers where she wanted, she turned the nail brush she was using over and stabbed me with other end to move my fingers around. I was stunned and couldn't believe what was happening. My friend wanted to go for regular manicures together today and I reluctantly agreed to come back here. She called and made an appt for us for 2:30. When we came in, it was busy , they took my friend and left me sitting there for 25 minutes and didn't say a word about anything. Usually when you book together they seat you together or at least take you at the same time. They took a couple ahead of me (with no appt) for pedicures who came in after us. If I would have had service 25 minutes later, my friend would have ended up having to wait another 30 minutes for me, so I let them know that I wouldn't be getting the service any longer. Since my friend and I came together I couldn't just leave. They sat and talked about me in their language and glared at me. As I was sitting waiting for my friend to be done, an older lady complained that she had an appointment at 3 and it was already 10 after. It was only when my friend told her that I had waited for near half hour already until I gave up waiting, did the manager (same rude woman as my first visit) came over and told us that two people called in sick and they are behind and called all the appointments and told them that. First of all that is a lie since we made the appt the same morning. Second of all, the manager only came over because we were talking about the horrible service to the other lady who also started complaining, and third the entire time I waited she was no where to be seen. Only when the other staff over heard the complaining did she come out of the back room. Maybe instead of being in the back room she could have been doing MY nails. The only apology I received was when my friend and I started discussing how much she wanted to tip, they over heard and then came rushing over and offered me 30% off my next visit. I declined. There will not ever be a next visit. Ps. My friend texted me later saying her nails look like crap. Worst service, if I had any service and worst staff I've ever seen. We are from the states and this was a special treat from my sister-in-law. Four of us had appointments for pedicures. This is the worst experience that I have ever had. It felt like we were in an assembly line and it was how fast can we get these pedicures done. There wasn't anything relaxing about them. I'm sorry, but if I wanted that type of experience, I would do them at home. I also have a hunk of my foot that was gouged out when my heel was being scrubbed. I have never had such a terrible experience in a nail place. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Went to get my acrylics taken off, the lady ended up slicing underneath my natural nail and I was bleeding everywhere. She apologized and tried to correct it, which I appreciated, but then they charged me 20$ for that experience and didn't even put a coat of clear polish or anything on my newly vulnerable nails. I live close to the nail salon and thought I would give it a try. It was alright and nothing special. When I first walked in I was impressed with the look of the nail salon as its a little nicer than the usual nail salon. However As I watched the nail tech work I questioned several of her practices. The towel she used to cover the foot pad touched the garbage can and I had to ask her to replace the towel. She was also quite rough, and several times I recoiled my feet during the pedicure. After the whole experience I wasn't impressed and I don't think I will be going back. read more

1. I hate how they have a cash machine inside for you to pull cash out of the cash machine (have to pay for that... which increases their profits) and then pay in cash. 2. Their debit machine is always "broken" to force you to pay in cash through the cash machine and they don't take credit cards even though I have personally paid with credit cards there before. 3. Pulling cash from cash machine = more money for Diva Nails. 4. Not allowing the use of credit cards = more cash for Diva Nails (as it costs money for a store to accept credit cards.) 5. One of the worst salons ever. The staff constantly gossip amongst eachother. The lady who was doing my nails would often stop what she was doing to talk to the other staff. She also would answer her cellphone and text people while she was working on my nails. I do not find the staff here are very attentive as they seem to multi task, yet it interferes with the quality of their work. I have decided to go to Hot Tip Nails in Mayfield Common. Service is by far better quality then this location. Choose a place that the staff will give you their undivided attention. I've been to this salon about 4 times, thinking service would improve for repeat customers. Definitely not the situation here. read more

I just came back from the worst shellac manicure of my life. The service was so horrendous that I felt compelled to write this review. I will start off by saying that I am a person with A LOT of patience, but this experience was just ridiculous. I went in asking for a shellac manicure. I have been doing this for about 3 years now in the same location without any problem before (some nails were better than others, but overall good). My nail technician removed my old shellac, then proceeded to cut my nails down when I had asked her to keep them as long as possible. She then brought out the tips container, when I specifically asked for a shellac. She seemed annoyed when I told her for the third time I didn't want tips and only wanted shellac polish. She asked me about 3 times what colour I wanted, and I had been trying to choose a colour out of the bin, but she would literally grab my hand and force back in the water to keep soaking. I told her I just needed a minute to choose, but apparently that was too long. She was getting impatient that I hadn't chosen a colour, but I literally did no have even a minute to look. I got very frustrated and told her just to paint them clear and I wanted to leave. She charged me $31.50 to remove my old shellac. Their menu board says $10. I will never, ever return to this location. Very poor service. I don't honestly believe it was a language barrier at all. They are more concerned about quantity of clients than quality and client satisfaction. read more

Been here before. Even brought in family. All other times it was amazing. Tonight not so. The waxer told my daughter about how bad her skin was. Then we had pedicures. Both man handled our feet. I told her twice she was hurting me. The service tonight was just not there. Also I'm not sure what language they were all speaking to each other but it wasn't one I understand. I actually enjoyed this nail salon, which i normally can't say with these places. My friend got a pedicure here once and recommended it so i thought i would try it as well. I always get the spa pedicure anywhere i go, i enjoy the spearmint mask they use. When he told me the spa pedicure plus shellac polish was $75 i was a little taken back but decided to still go ahead. Any other place i've gone its usually $50ish and they basically just put the mask on, thats really the only difference. By the end of this pedicure i understood why its more expensive. They give you a salt scrub, a cooling gel, and then the mask while they do the actual maintenance part. After they take the mask off they put hot towels over your legs and give you an amazing leg massage. Then they lotion your legs and do the polish. Just when you think they're done, and they've put the top coat on, they place your feet in these plastic bags with warm water that has this tingy powder they put in. They tie it up, put some towel socks on and let you soak it all in for 15 minutes. The liquid in the bag slowly turns into a waxy type substance and it just feels amazing! I was very impressed and felt $75 was actually pretty worth it. My only complaint is while he was doing the maintenance part of the pedicure, he asked if i wanted the razor on the bottom of my foot. Of course i do, is that not really the main part of a pedicure? He proceeded after i said yes, but only for about 10 seconds on each foot which was disappointing. It had been a good 6 months since my previous pedicure so i would have liked more attention on that part. Other than that i really liked the salon. It was clean, and all the employees were very nice. I get my nails done by a friend so i can't speak so their talent with hands, but it was a great pedicure, i will definitely return. read more

Honestly this is my favourite nail salon in Edmonton. I'm always happy with the results and I am extremely nit picky. The work they do impresses me and their shellac does not chip. She did nothing different than she would have done to prepare my nails for am shellac pedi! She even left so shellac on my nails so did not take it all off. Not happy and won't be back. Avoid at all costs. My friend and I booked a reservation for us to get pedicures for noon. At 12:10 they informed us that we could go in, but that we would be sitting across from each other and not beside each other, which we didn't like as we booked together so that we could catch up. We said we wanted to be beside each other, so they made us wait longer. At 12:15 they had us chairs for us ready, but one of them was dirty so I asked for it to be cleaned off. My friends massage chair was not working, and I had my feet soaking for half an hour until someone actually started to work on them. So at 12:45.. 45 min past our reservation time.. someone started working on mine. The lady did a good job on mine once she got working, but my friends lady was terrible. She cute her toe nails too short and they started bleeding. At times, they left her alone for 5 minutes at a time when she was only in the middle of her pedicure. My friends lady also did not take off all the dead skin on her feet, and when she asked her to re-do it, she still didn't get it all off and just left it. This place is incredibly overpriced and not professional. I will not go back and would not recommend it. read more

I have had my lashes tined for over 20 years but this was the first time I ran out of the room looking for a sink to rinse the dye out. TERRIBLE customer service! From the moment we walked into this place. I had booked appointment to come in and get shillac nails for 3 of us. They ran around all confused to determine who was doing who's nails. After about 15 mins we finally sat down and started our nails. They comenting on how they had no time for us as they were going to have a huge party of 6 ppl come in. What the point of us making an appointment if they are going to rush you and tell you they have no time ???? The technician I got was DISTRACTED the entire time while doing my nails. Kept looking up, I had to prompt him to please pay attention to what he was doing on my nails. The last thing I wanted was for me to get cut or something. He replied " I know what I'm doing !" From the moment I walked out I felt my nails soft... Go figure as he was half fasting the job. Couple days past and my nails started to crack and fall off. No surprise as the nail job was done bad. I phoned the place letting them know and who ever I spoke on the phone with told me to come in any time and they would fix it. I do live far from the place so I went in on the Friday. I go there and show them that literally on every single one of my nails there was either a crack or the nail had already fallen off. They kept insisting that they could only repair the nails that had fallen off. To me it didn't seem fair as all my nails were bad and about to crack. They got the owner of the salon- and to my luck it was the same guy that did my nails... He also refused to redo my nails even after the fact that I told him he's the one that did the bad job, I told him I've gone to another place and when they do a bad job they redid all of them for me. He proceeded to tell him " go else where then " - at that point I realized this guy had no clue of what customer service means and wasn't going to own up to his badly done job. I decided to walk out and no longer ware my time arguing. I've wanted to try this nail salon since I live close to it. I went in on a Sunday afternoon at around 3:45 pm and they were super busy but the lady I talked to said she would help me out. I sat in a chair and waited for about 10 minutes while she finished with her other customer. She proceeded to start on my nails but stopped several times as she was busy answering the phone and doing several things. This was understandable since I did come on a weekend at a busy time without an appointment. She proceeded to prep my right hand for the gel manicure but stopped and someone else took over since she had to leave for her son's birthday. It did suck to have to have someone else take over but the new girl (can't remember her name) did a pretty thorough job prepping my left hand and giving me the gel manicure. It didn't take too long and I was happy with the result. They have a TON on gel polishes to choose from which I was quite happy about it. However, I noticed chips in my polish on Sunday and on one finger part of the polish started to peel away already. I am quite unhappy with this as this is why I choose to spend extra on gel manicures instead of getting the normal kind. I just trimmed two nails where I noticed the nail polish chips near the bottom but one of my fingers needed to be redone. I went back on Monday and showed the guy the finger that had to be redone and he did it right away for free. It is now Tuesday and I noticing more chips and another finger where the nail polish is starting to lift. I don't think I will be coming back here even with the huge selection of gel polishes they have. I just don't want to spend $37.50 + tip on gel nail polish that flakes right away. I normally go to E Nails on Saddleback Road and I've never had a problem with my gel manicures from there. They have less color selection but it's also cheaper, more quiet and the girls there do a fantastic job. read more
