I had a great time at Divina for a mid-week dinner. We arrived around 8:30 but had no problem getting a table. The food was excellent. We had oysters, octopus, beet salad, and Arancini to start. The octopus was excellent - one of the best octopus dishes I've ever had. For the mains we tried some of the homemade pastas. I had the black fettuccini with seafood which was also excellent. My only regret was ordering g the half serving. I should've ordered a full serving - or better yet, two! It was that good, and I will be back again for more. The service was good, but nothing outstanding. The waitress gave my wife an extra glass of wine for free for no reason, which was nice. Ambiance was loud and dark, but we didn't mind. Interesting end to the night , though! A DJ randomly showed up around 9:30-10 and the whole place turned into a nightclub all around us. Again, we didn't mind, but I can see how some other unsuspecting guests wouldn't like it. Apparently this happens weekly, so I think we just didn't know about it, but we made the most of it, had a few drinks, and extended the night after dinner was over with some dancing. read more

I tried explaining this to them, but they were adamant that I was wrong . I've had my service animal for 5 years now. I would have gladly answered the two ADA-approved questions, but no one even bothered to ask. My dog gave two small barks after the staff became rude and confrontational. To this, the waiter said he was "not acting like a service animal". This was a really sad experience for me. I hope management receives proper training so that no one else with a disability is treated this way.

Located on the green, as the "19th hole" Zody's is a solid spot, with staff that remember you when you return. They're always supportive of the community, as a whole restaurant, happy to collaborate with efforts of the different communities of the city. Alexis is such a lovely server and we were so grateful to have her join us during our last visit. She surprised me with a scoop of ice cream for my birthday! None of us said anything, she just overheard someone discretely say "happy birthday". If you're visiting in the summer, go for the Lobster Roll (Connecticut style is cooked with butter). A good portion, at a fair price! The Guinness is always a great pour. Meatball hoagie, another choice that won't disappoint. While I no longer live in Stamford, I look forward to making a stop here during my next visit.

You miss when menus were lists that described the dishes to be served- and not failed lessons in Freshman expository writing requiring Berlitz to translate (the ancestor to DuoLingo). And, if you dared to dream, you hoped for reasonably-priced food that exceeded what your sainted Aunty Margaret could have conjured in the finest kitchen. If you're nodding in agreement, then why aren't you dining at Paparazzi in Darien? On a Thursday night, my wife and I stumbled upon an unassuming restaurant at the start of the Post Road in Darien. The Amazon- acquired "Open" sign did not portend the extraordinary restaurant experience that awaited us. Each piece in our eggplant tower appetizer was meticulously fried to achieve the perfect balance of crispy exterior and succulent eggplant lurking below. The sauce paired the robustness of the tomato with a Spring-like freshness (which, if Vivaldi had ever tried, he would have stopped his legendary composition after that one season). Knowing that lightning dares not strike twice, I anticipated that the Chicken Sophia Loren (which paired Fontina cheese and spinach) would be better than passable but hardly as tasty as the eggplant. But, like a bolt out of the blue, Paparazzi brought forth not a humble version of a chicken francaise but a dish which sparkled with the appeal of the actual Sophia Loren. The wine and butter sauce (and its subtle hint of lemon) provided the perfect balance creating a cradle which nurtured the succulent chicken cutlets and masterfully tender spinach. Paparazzi, though, does not simply let its fare stand on its own. The engaging and attentive (but not fawning) waitstaff made a great meal a truly memorable dining experience- and the perfect way to celebrate our 15 years of marriage.
