Zucchero was such a standout experience. We arrived just before the 11 am crowd on Sunday and scored the best seats, instantly setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable visit. The atmosphere is warm and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the service was truly a highlight--attentive, welcoming, and effortless. The drinks deserve their own moment: the lychee drink might honestly be my all-time favorite, and the latte warmed my soul. Every dish we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared--the eggs Florentine were perfectly balanced, the pepper fusilli pasta was comforting with a kick, the stuffed mushroom was rich and satisfying, and the apple salad was fresh and bright. This is the kind of place you leave already excited to come back.

Zucchero cafe just opened a week ago. It has been very popular in town already and is a sister restaurant to Antonio's a block away. There were only 2 available tables when we got there at 1230 on a Sunday. And almost immediately there was a line out the door waiting. Darien needs more mid scale dining that is family friendly so I was very excited to try. The menu has many breakfast/lunch/ dinner options with a full bar. The vibe is fun and fresh, great art work, and styling. Our server was great and attentive even tho so busy. The food was good, not great like Antonio's. I ordered the BLT and it was fine..... French fries came out warm not hot. Friends ordered eggs Benedict (and yes they asked for modifications but it was very wrong) the English muffin wasn't toasted, the Canadian bacon was very good and the hollandaise sauce was very good (but eggs came with out it originally and we had to ask for it). Other friend asked for eggs Benedict but over quinoa because he is gluten free, it came out over a salad and with no Canada bacon. I will def go back and try other dishes maybe after they are open a little longer. Darien needs a restaurant like this to be successful!

It may not try to reinvent the sandwich, but it delivers something dependable. My girlfriend and I both ordered the Middlesex sandwich. It was solid and satisfying, built with good portions and the kind of ingredients you expect from a neighborhood deli. The bread held everything together well and the balance of meats and toppings made it an easy, straightforward lunch. Nothing overly fancy, but it gets the job done. Service was quick and efficient. Orders moved through the counter at a steady pace and the staff kept things running smoothly. It felt like a place that knows its regular crowd and understands that most people are stopping in for a reliable bite rather than a long dining experience. The ambiance matches that deli identity. It is casual, simple, and functional. A small local spot where people come in, grab a sandwich, and head back to their day. It has that comfortable neighborhood energy without trying to be anything more than it needs to be. Mama Carmela's earns three stars as a reliable deli. Not necessarily a destination, but definitely a dependable stop when you are craving a good sandwic

Everything arrived cold, overcooked, and burnt. On top of that, it was salty but somehow still had no real flavor. I also asked for cheese and it was not added. Portions were smaller than expected for some of the items. We ordered one platter, two breakfast sandwiches, fries, and two drinks. The order included two eggs with home fries, rye toast with butter, bacon, and a sausage patty, plus a bacon egg and cheese on white bread and another on a hard roll. The hot chocolate was literally a cup of hot water with one Swiss Miss packet, which was surprising. My iced coffee came black with no cream included and it tasted burnt. Overall, the meal was not worth what we paid and most of it was honestly inedible. I really wanted to like this place because it has great reviews everywhere, so maybe this was just a really bad day for them. Still, based on this experience, I don't think we'll be ordering from here again.

Second time here because the items are 10/10…read more However, I wanted to share some feedback as a customer who truly believes this bakery has something special to offer. I don't consume pork and someone in my group requested the lady behind the counter to change her gloves before packing our bagel. The lady did change them, but when we requested her to warm the pan au chocolate, she said they warm ham etc., in the oven. She didn't ask if we are still okay with the pan au chocolate being warmed. I found this interaction a bit odd and came off in an unfriendly tone. It just seemed un-inclusive and my group didn't feel welcomed. A suggestion - is it possible to change parchment paper's etc if ham is warmed in the same oven/toaster? Personally, it seemed like the worker was offended I asked her to change her gloves. I hope it's a one off experience since I truly love the items you offer, but definitely hope to have a better customer experience next time.

There's loaves of bread and gorgeous pastries and grab and go pizzas and bagels and muffins everywhere. But the main reason we enjoyed our visit was Robert, whose friendly demeanor and funny personality really won us over. We ordered three pastries - a Banana Bread Tart, a Ham and Cheese Crioissant, and a Pain Au Chocolate (Croissant). Because we arrived shortly before their 1:00 closing, Robert generously tossed a Bombolini (an Italian doughnut) into our bag. So how were they? Banana Bread Cake - A+ Price $6.95 Absolutely delicious! Fresh and sticky with chunks of chocolate and banana flavor. The best of our goodies. Ham and Cheese Croissant - A Price $7.50 This huge flaky pastry was excellent with plenty of buttery layers and sprinkled baked cheese on top. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a teense more of that yummy ham filling. Chocolate Croissant - A Price $6.25 Same excellent flaky and buttery layers and generous size. But like the ham and cheese croissant, we thought a teense more of those yummy chocolate ribbons would have put it over the top. Bombolini - A Price - complimentary Imagine the delicate buttery taste of the best jelly donut you ever had, but without the jelly. Their Bombolinis are baked in filled and non-filled versions, but I gotta tell you, the unfilled version was fantastic! Thank you, Flour Water Salt Bread and Robert, for a wonderful customer experience.
