We just ate Sauerbraten and the Beef Stroganoff and Pirogies. Absolutely to die for!! 11/10+++++. Thoughtfully prepared, well spiced (even the potato pancake which most other places make bland), deliciously prepared. It was even still so perfectly steaming hot although delivered. After every bite all you heard was, "omg, mmmmmm", or "soooo freaking good!" We also ordered the sticky toffee cake dessert. I can now go to heaven ot wherever it is I am meant to go. I am not a dessert-type chick but oh this was really something to experience. Not grossly heavy the cake part was so light and amazingly flavored on it's own and the accompanying toffee just sent it into another dimension taking us with it. There was enough food to last us 3 days but delighted at the prospect. Which is very surprising as I am also NOT a leftovers- type chick, ever. Please forgive the lack of photos which is the only thing I regret. It was extraordinary and by the time we even thought about it we had already tucked in quite a bit. Pro-tip: Fish & Chips with a Guinness. It will hit the spot. Oh, and be nice to the staff! Zody's is a favorite of the locals in Stamford. Located on the green, as the "19th hole" Zody's is a solid spot, with staff that remember you when you return. They're always supportive of the community, as a whole restaurant, happy to collaborate with efforts of the different communities of the city. Alexis is such a lovely server and we were so grateful to have her join us during our last visit. She surprised me with a scoop of ice cream for my birthday! None of us said anything, she just overheard someone discretely say "happy birthday". If you're visiting in the summer, go for the Lobster Roll (Connecticut style is cooked with butter). A good portion, at a fair price! The Guinness is always a great pour. Meatball hoagie, another choice that won't disappoint. While I no longer live in Stamford, I look forward to making a stop here during my next visit. read more

Came here for my job's holiday party and we all had a great time. I drove past this place many times on my way to take the Merritt parkway home but never noticed it was not just a golf course, but also a restaurant. We had our own room reserved buffet style. There was salad and breadsticks. For appetizers we had eggplant lasagna, sesame fried chicken, and calamari. For entree we had steak, roasted potatoes, mixed veggies, chicken masala, penne pasta, and fish. Mini assorted pasties were placed out towards the end with a round of coffee. The atmosphere was wonderful. Mr Zody came by to thank us personally. All the workers were top notch. We couldn't have better service! I would really suggest we come back here next year. Today my husband and Brother in law had Thanksgiving dinner at zody's at 3 pm pm. We were seated quickly even with a large crowd coming in. The food was delicious. We had the traditional Thanksgiving meal. This was our first years eating out in all our years married. No children no grandchildren. Our waitress Betsy was great, such a pro. The reason for our 4 stars not 5 was we were brought thru the pretty restaurant out back to a narrow back closed in patio. No good ambiance for a holiday, right next to the door. This review is strictly for Zody's Oktoberfest menu during lunch hours. I'm not a huge fan of Octoberfest food and reluctantly ordered a dish from their special Oktoberfest menu. I had Saurbraten because it was based on my neighbor's recommendation, who I had come with, and who had come for dinner the previous night and raved about the dish and insisted I order it, so I did. Did not like it at all. The meat was extremely dry and tough, was an extremely lean cut and appeared to be pork tenderloin and not braised beef. The circular loin shape, no fat, sinew, marbling or webbing, and a solid, dry, white color told me it was pork loin and not an extricated round cut from a cow. The potato pancake wasn't cooked through and the potato was still somewhat raw and was plated with a pile of mushy vinegary purple cabbage. I didn't like anything about the dish and it was a true disappointment. I had my neighbor try it and she also said it was not like anything from her previous dinner and wanted me to return the dish and order something else. She felt very badly about convincing me to order the Saurbraten but I don't like to complain about anything, would rather choke down terrible food than having it go to waste. I also don't curse often but that meat was fuckin' dry. My nabe tried to complain for me but I just didn't want to deal with a replacement and I didn't want the waitress to feel bad because it wasn't her fault, I just wanted to get the lunch over with, forget about it and move on with my day. Everyone who ordered from the Oktoberfest menu did not like really their meals much either and the funniest thing is that my neighbor who convinced me to order these dried up wagon wheels ordered a sandwich off the regular menu and it looked great with really delicious homemade potato chips. She also ordered apple strudel and for whatever reason, her strudel was also not the same as the strudel she had for dinner. It was a brown slab of strudel with no powdered sugar, no whipped cream or ice cream, just a brown strudel slab. We sat in the porch area overlooking the golf course, the view was beautiful. read more

Great service, went for a work outing with more than 10 people. Wait staff was more than accommodating and attentive. Food was comparable to good bar food. The wings were a crowd favorite. Overall mature crowd who didn't mind a little noise. Sports par vibe with high chairs and multiple large screen TV's, large open windows to see the golf course. We were sitting in the den overlooking the golf course which was quite pleasant. We ordered Fried Oysrers, Clam Bake and a Seafood dish that three of us shared. The price of wine is the least expensive in the area and the food is pretty good. There is no complaint other than the Handi-Wipes are too tiny to handle our soiled fingers. read more

Came for a catered event. Overall experience was O.K. GETTING THERE - a little tricky even with the GOS address. But once you turn into the golf course it is right there. PARKING - I add this because Stamford pkg can be awful. But plenty of spaces. ENTRANCE - you are on your own to find the catered areas. MEAL - a basic catered fare that was decent. I will say that the pork disk was over cooked and as a result more difficult to cut and chew. The ziti was good not great and the sauce could be better. The chicken in white sauce was actually good and moist. The dish could be improved with more seasoning. VINO - a little limited but they offered the low end Sterling. The Pino was your basic not so great stock. ORDERING DRINKS - not an issue but this party was not open bar so you had to give your credit card to start a tab. SERVICE - for a party the service was better than most but not top drawer. Our waiter and bus were helpful when you got their attention. DESERT - I didn't try so let me know. Thanks. We had our father's funeral luncheon here on Friday, May 31. It was absolutely perfect. Mike and Jocelyn made it so easy. They were great at staying in touch, they eased my concerns when I had no idea how people we would have in attendance. They promised they could handle it and they did. They recommended a local florist, Something Special, they made the most beautiful centerpieces, and I gave them short notice. The food was amazing. We did a buffet due to the large number of guests. The food was plentiful and the staff really kept an eye on it to ensure that! The servers were terrific, they were attentive and prompt. I highly recommend the 19th Hole. read more

The golfer, who was using this automobile, allowed us to drive it. I came for an event, a fundraising gala for a non-profit and I was blown away by the hospitality of the owner. He was amazing, and that's an understatement. Looks like a beautiful course, but it was in the evening so it was kind of dark. The place was decorated so nicely, I loved the stone chimney and fireplace in the dining room. Also the quality of the food for being catered was fantastic. I really appreciate all his wait staff, they were so attentive and accommodating, lovely people. He must be a wonderful boss to work for.
