Today my husband and Brother in law had Thanksgiving dinner at zody's at 3 pm pm. We were seated quickly even with a large crowd coming in. The food was delicious. We had the traditional Thanksgiving meal. This was our first years eating out in all our years married. No children no grandchildren. Our waitress Betsy was great, such a pro. The reason for our 4 stars not 5 was we were brought thru the pretty restaurant out back to a narrow back closed in patio. No good ambiance for a holiday, right next to the door. But all in all the food and service was very good. Thanks Betsy and Zodys

I called ahead and placed my order, got to the restaurant sat down at the bar and waited for 15 minutes and to find out my order was not put through. Gabriella needs to be more attentive and make sure she puts the order through before going home! Thank you to the worker that shared his meal, I felt terrible!

We were sitting in the den overlooking the golf course which was quite pleasant. We ordered Fried Oysrers, Clam Bake and a Seafood dish that three of us shared. The price of wine is the least expensive in the area and the food is pretty good. There is no complaint other than the Handi-Wipes are too tiny to handle our soiled fingers.

Came for a catered event. Overall experience was O.K. GETTING THERE - a little tricky even with the GOS address. But once you turn into the golf course it is right there. PARKING - I add this because Stamford pkg can be awful. But plenty of spaces. ENTRANCE - you are on your own to find the catered areas. MEAL - a basic catered fare that was decent. I will say that the pork disk was over cooked and as a result more difficult to cut and chew. The ziti was good not great and the sauce could be better. The chicken in white sauce was actually good and moist. The dish could be improved with more seasoning. VINO - a little limited but they offered the low end Sterling. The Pino was your basic not so great stock. ORDERING DRINKS - not an issue but this party was not open bar so you had to give your credit card to start a tab. SERVICE - for a party the service was better than most but not top drawer. Our waiter and bus were helpful when you got their attention. DESERT - I didn't try so let me know. Thanks. PRICE - never saw the bill so I can't help you.

We also have pasta and a salad which is really amazing service is really good weight staff was very quick no weight line and it was just a nice view of the golf course but definitely would recommend this place

Pro-tip: Fish & Chips with a Guinness. It will hit the spot. Oh, and be nice to the staff! Zody's is a favorite of the locals in Stamford. Located on the green, as the "19th hole" Zody's is a solid spot, with staff that remember you when you return. They're always supportive of the community, as a whole restaurant, happy to collaborate with efforts of the different communities of the city. Alexis is such a lovely server and we were so grateful to have her join us during our last visit. She surprised me with a scoop of ice cream for my birthday! None of us said anything, she just overheard someone discretely say "happy birthday". If you're visiting in the summer, go for the Lobster Roll (Connecticut style is cooked with butter). A good portion, at a fair price! The Guinness is always a great pour. Meatball hoagie, another choice that won't disappoint. While I no longer live in Stamford, I look forward to making a stop here during my next visit. read more

Came here for my job's holiday party and we all had a great time. I drove past this place many times on my way to take the Merritt parkway home but never noticed it was not just a golf course, but also a restaurant. We had our own room reserved buffet style. There was salad and breadsticks. For appetizers we had eggplant lasagna, sesame fried chicken, and calamari. For entree we had steak, roasted potatoes, mixed veggies, chicken masala, penne pasta, and fish. Mini assorted pasties were placed out towards the end with a round of coffee. The atmosphere was wonderful. Mr Zody came by to thank us personally. All the workers were top notch. We couldn't have better service! I would really suggest we come back here next year. A very nice Birthday diber for me on Jan 11 and my daugther in law Jan 10. We had wonderful service and great food. I like the fact that is very Handi capp entering for my self and my son we bot are using walkers now. This review is strictly for Zody's Oktoberfest menu during lunch hours. I'm not a huge fan of Octoberfest food and reluctantly ordered a dish from their special Oktoberfest menu. I had Saurbraten because it was based on my neighbor's recommendation, who I had come with, and who had come for dinner the previous night and raved about the dish and insisted I order it, so I did. Did not like it at all. The meat was extremely dry and tough, was an extremely lean cut and appeared to be pork tenderloin and not braised beef. The circular loin shape, no fat, sinew, marbling or webbing, and a solid, dry, white color told me it was pork loin and not an extricated round cut from a cow. The potato pancake wasn't cooked through and the potato was still somewhat raw and was plated with a pile of mushy vinegary purple cabbage. I didn't like anything about the dish and it was a true disappointment. I had my neighbor try it and she also said it was not like anything from her previous dinner and wanted me to return the dish and order something else. She felt very badly about convincing me to order the Saurbraten but I don't like to complain about anything, would rather choke down terrible food than having it go to waste. I also don't curse often but that meat was fuckin' dry. My nabe tried to complain for me but I just didn't want to deal with a replacement and I didn't want the waitress to feel bad because it wasn't her fault, I just wanted to get the lunch over with, forget about it and move on with my day. Everyone who ordered from the Oktoberfest menu did not like really their meals much either and the funniest thing is that my neighbor who convinced me to order these dried up wagon wheels ordered a sandwich off the regular menu and it looked great with really delicious homemade potato chips. She also ordered apple strudel and for whatever reason, her strudel was also not the same as the strudel she had for dinner. It was a brown slab of strudel with no powdered sugar, no whipped cream or ice cream, just a brown strudel slab. We sat in the porch area overlooking the golf course, the view was beautiful. read more

Great service, went for a work outing with more than 10 people. Wait staff was more than accommodating and attentive. Food was comparable to good bar food. The wings were a crowd favorite. Overall mature crowd who didn't mind a little noise. Sports par vibe with high chairs and multiple large screen TV's, large open windows to see the golf course. We sat in the bar area and there appeared to be another area with regular seats. Daily specials menu, with multiple options. read more

The Service here is excellent, the servers are kind and attentive, the whole ambiance is very pleasant, its a family friendly atmosphere, the food is great too, the sauce on the pan seared scallops was a bit salty and the vegetables that came with the NY strip steak were a bit bland but overall it was a really great meal and experience! read more

We ate dinner with friends this week for their Oktoberfest specials. We had Beef Stroganoff, Wiener Schnitzel and a Zody's Wurst Special. All were good and the room is nice and lively. Service was good but could have been a little better. read more

I ordered a burger, mozzarella sticks and spinach... more than $50!...delivered. last time everything was amazing. this dinner arrived barely warm. mozz sticks were breaded and deep fried-- cold, tasteless and greasy. onion rings ok but soggy- really soggy. burger? ok not great. did not live up to my memory of last time or of anything "Stamford's finest." read more

We had our father's funeral luncheon here on Friday, May 31. It was absolutely perfect. Mike and Jocelyn made it so easy. They were great at staying in touch, they eased my concerns when I had no idea how people we would have in attendance. They promised they could handle it and they did. They recommended a local florist, Something Special, they made the most beautiful centerpieces, and I gave them short notice. The food was amazing. We did a buffet due to the large number of guests. The food was plentiful and the staff really kept an eye on it to ensure that! The servers were terrific, they were attentive and prompt. I highly recommend the 19th Hole. read more

Loved this restaurant but tonight I ordered a beyond burger. Thin patty, thin slices of tomato (2) and large roll. They have great sole and their hamburgers look great but this was far from adequate. So disappointed! read more

We held a private party in the restaurant's enclosed patio for my mother's 90th birthday. Everything was terrific from the food to the wait staff and location with z view of the golf course. Manager Jocelyn and Maya and the rest of the wait staff took great care of us. Highly recommend! read more

The food is delicious especially the calamari. Only thing is the golf cart attendant was mad rude to me because one of the golfers said I can drive his cart, so I did. The food and the service at the restaurant itself was great, but the golf cart employee was on his own planet. I was attending an engagement party with my family, and we took pictures on a golf cart. The golfer, who was using this automobile, allowed us to drive it. We hadn't gone five feet before this badussy worker yelled at us and tried to embarrass my sister and i, it didn't work.If I ever go golfing, I'll be going elsewhere! read more

We held a 60th surprise party at Zody's last month and had a wonderful experience. The staff was impressively accommodating and helpful on the day of the event. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. There were plenty of options to choose from for all courses. We had ~40 people in the smaller room which was a little tight with tables but manageable. I came for an event, a fundraising gala for a non-profit and I was blown away by the hospitality of the owner. He was amazing, and that's an understatement. Looks like a beautiful course, but it was in the evening so it was kind of dark. The place was decorated so nicely, I loved the stone chimney and fireplace in the dining room. Also the quality of the food for being catered was fantastic. I really appreciate all his wait staff, they were so attentive and accommodating, lovely people. He must be a wonderful boss to work for. I had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks that evening at Zody's. read more

This place is amazing! The short ribs are to die for! They have a wonderful menu, offering something for everyone. We love that they have prime rib daily. The owner Mike is very nice, comes around to make sure everything is ok. Spacious place, comfortable seating, good portions and fair prices. Would highly recommend! The food tasted amazing and the meat was cooked exactly as U like it, they got my order perfect. The place was clean and had nice decor. The waiters/waitresses were very kind and they got my food to me fast while it was still hot. I loved it here, will 100% be going again soon. read more

My husband wanted to have a surprise bday party for me and after he called Stillery and they were not accommodative at all. He called Zody's. He spoke to the owner and then he connected her to Joslyn. Everything from that point forward was a breeze. She was very professional and extremely efficient. My party was very well planned and Zody's did an excellent job in making that happen. Everyone was pleased, we were a party of about 20 including kids. Rest assured, we will return again and again. And the other families as well:) Great food, personalized service for large parties and very efficient and pleasant service, what more can a birthday gal ask for? I took a 2 hour train from Brooklyn to Connecticut for lunch and I'd absolutely do it all over…read moreagain! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality from the staff,and chef made us feel right at home. We started drinks with a Strawberry Cosmo and a Paloma Spritz. Both refreshing and dangerously strong in the best way possible. For apps we came for the Crispy Duck on Sushi Rice, and as someone who usually scared to eat duck, this completely changed my mind. The duck was unbelievably crispy, similar to crispy prosciutto, and paired perfectly with their special sauce. We also had to do the Crab Cake was another standout, especially with the house-made Green Goddess dressing. The chef even came out to explain how he prepares the sauce, which made the experience feel much more special. For the entrees, we ordered the Linguine Fra Diavolo, loaded with perfectly cooked shrimp and the perfect amount of spice, alongside the Steak & Chips finished with a truffle vinaigrette. Somehow, every single dish just kept getting better. And because we clearly hadn't eaten enough, we had to try the Bacon Mac & Cheese Balls with smoked tomato sauce. I honestly could've eaten an entire plate of those. To end our meal, the chef surprised us with his Duck Egg Brownie, and it was one of the softest, fudgiest brownies I've ever had. A 2 hour train ride sounds crazy... but Flinders Lane made it absolutely worth the trip. I can't wait to come back to try the kangaroo!

We tried: - Korean pork bao buns - very one note, overwhelmingly sour from the sauce. Not much contrast at all in flavors which you usually expect from a bao (sweet, salty, savory is what I would expect). - Fried cauliflower - I thought it was fried well and the sauce was good. The cauliflower itself didn't taste seasoned though. - Sausage roll - this was pretty good. - Linguine fra diavolo - supposedly the "staff favorite" they were out of shrimp so they made it with chicken. This was really bad. Overcooked, limp linguini with a very spicy, watery sauce. Hardly any chicken. This was worse than something you could make at home. - Signature meat pie - this seemed like it could be good but overall the pie and fries seemed old, like they had been cooked hours before and then reheated. Overall, the food was quite expensive and just not very tasty. We wouldn't come back based on this.

They are familiar with the art of pouring a Guinness. Probably the only hitch in this place is that its like trying to find the track 9 3/4 to the Hogwarts Express - its down a one-way side street and I've never seen or driven by this place ever the entire time I've lived in Stamford. An old Siwanoy Indian guide found it for me with a dowsing rod dipped in blue cheese dressing. They do have a convenient parking lot.

The waitress didn't know much about the menu or how to use the electronic ordering system. And after an extremely long wait, we had to get up to ask for our bill. We then waited again for a long time for someone to come get our credit card, but again, we had to get up and find a server to help us. The food was not nearly as good as it used to be. I had a smash burger, which was essentially a regular burger. And the cleanliness of the place was also disappointing. Apparently they also allow smoking in the outdoor dining area. Several people at the table next to us were smoking.

I was happy to get a chunk of time to visit The Wienery, which seems like one of the better regarded hot dog places in the Stamford area. I ordered a chili and coleslaw dog and a "Chicaaago" dog. The dogs are standard length Sabretts, all beef hot dogs from New Jersey that are popular in New York as well. The hot dogs were split and grilled. The actual Sabrett hot dogs were good, but I prefer some other regional options. I probably wouldn't have split a standard size dog like that, but that's a judgment call. The Chicaaago Dog was more like a second cousin of a Chicago dog, but it captured the flavorful point of the dog. The chili and coleslaw were both good. The Wienery is obviously very popular. People were in and out the entire time I was there. They have burgers, other sandwiches, sides, shakes and Italian Ice as well. They had inside and outside eating. Nothing fancy, but there was some fun dog themed art. They also seemed to be a popular takeout spot. 4.25 Stars
