It's been several months since I saw Yas. After the first session, things really went down hill because the lashes were not staying. I explained to her that curved lashes don't stay on as well as straight ones on Asian lashes. She did touch ups for me, but then she did something really unprofessional, particularly since she was not trained to do so... She attempted to "volumize" my lashes by adding several across my natural lashes. I know that she intended to try to make my lashes look fuller, but she overused glue; and in the end, she caused significant lash loss. There should never be hard chunks of glue used to attach lashes, no matter if the stylist is trying to build volume or not. Furthermore, she said she was using Extremelash but I later found out that she had not been trained and certified to do their volumizing method. Had she been certified, she would had used their finer lashes required for that technique. I don't have an issue with non-Extremelash products because I've done well with the Korean brands, but I do have an issue when someone is not forthright. I had to see a dermatologist and take months off due to the damage done to my lashes and lids. I brought her in the chunks of fallen, glued lashes (I'll attach the photo), which she wanted to keep. She said she could either refund me for the full or give me lash growth brand that she had...but after being convinced that her lash serum would help and that I take a break, I told her that I would prefer to use Latisse, which is medically approved. Then, she said that I needed to return her serum and that she would not refund me, cover the dermatologist co-pay and not cover Latisse. That seemed to be what I felt was the right thing to do, but she refused and was defensive...At that juncture, there was no point in communicating with her. I am very sad about all of this, as I know she is a nice person. But there is a different between someone being nice and someone being professional in how they handle their mistakes, particularly when it comes to a service that deals with your health and potentially your vision. I realize that I need to stop being vain in wanting to even have lash extensions... I have had my lashes done since 2009, and I NEVER ever had an issue with any stylist or product until I went to Yas. I still have major bald spots and gaps in my lashes, so be careful when you decide to go anyone. I had the same issue as Erica, and around the same time as well. I get so scared about my lashes and wish that review was around before I went, but all I saw were the few positive reviews. First, I asked for a half set, and when I opened my eyes, I had a full and was being charged for a full. Thought it was so weird that it only took an hour and she had done a full set -- but, it was because she was gluing together my real and multiple false lashes in clumps. With clumps of glue that I could feel sitting in my lash. I had to go get them fixed at another place, who removed some and replaced with individuals where it was really bad, but still some of Yas's lash clumps were intact... After a few days, I ended up using coconut oil to gently try to remove the lashes completely, as I couldn't stand it and was so nervous if they fell out on their own it may take my real lashes, but I definitely have a few gaps now (I guess where some had fallen out on their own). I went back and she gave me back $20 which I'm now thinking should've been totally refunded considering what a damaging thing she is doing to her clients' eyes. I wish I could give a zero. I have had xtreme lashes before and these were nothing like them. First, I asked for them to be a little longer than my natural lashes so they could look natural. I came out of there looking like I was ready for a drag show. Yas used so much glue on my lashes that it irritated my eye lids and there was nothing I could do about it. She also clumped a million lashes and glue onto one lash and even after the lashes were off I still had clumps of glue stuck on the few natural lashes I had left. I don't know if she is certified to do this or not but I asked her if she does xtreme lashes and she told me she did. Bottom line... If you want to have eye lashes after getting extensions do not go to Yas. I had practically nothing left. I was so disappointed and upset I didn't even contact her for a refund. read more
