Then we went through and picked a color. I needed a base color so that my hairdresser was able to dye it back at my regular salon. I waited a week and drove back to see and get fitted for my topper. We tried it on and I wanted to cry. I spend so much time trying to cover my thinning hair with headbands, bobby pins and Such, that I couldn't believe how easy this was. Waaaaay too easy. I knew immediately my new topper and I were going to have a wonderful relationship. Sal cut my hair and steamed it out, and showed me how to care for it. She made herself available for any questions should my hairdresser have in regards to coloring it. The entire shop was wonderful, these women really really rock. As soon as you walk through the door, you are immediately taken aback by the hundreds of mannequin heads staring back at you sporting every imaginable hairstyle. It's enough to make you stop in your tracks thinking you've entered the twilight zone. The shop is about the size of a small efficiency apartment, but it is crammed full of wigs on heads of every conceivable make and design. They have both synthetic and human hair wigs. The quality of the hair pieces here are of great quality and it's easy to drop over $100 or more on a wig here, especially on real hair. My wife decided on a $80 synthetic wig as the perfect choice. The owner was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. The pictures explain it all. I may not be back, but my wife will.

Angel on the other hand provides a great experience from the moment you walk into her suite. The area is always clean, she provides water and snacks, and even has a tv with a selection of shows to choose from. She's a natural hair stylist with styles ranging from twist updo's to silk press. Because it's usually so hot in Texas, I go to Angel in between protective styles for a nice trim, deep condition and style. She's very knowledgeable about hair and has growing hands! She takes her time so you won't feel rushed as well as provides great conversation. If you'd rather not talk, she's okay with that too. While this beauty supply is fairly small and isn't your typical sized beauty supply, they carry most of your basic hair needs and the extraordinary customer service makes up for it. I am not sure if it was the owner I spoke with while there but, she is very knowledgeable of all the products in question. I was looking for a good braid spray. She walked me over to the section and gave a brief background on all of the sprays she had in stock and the effects each ingredient has on your hair. This was quite impressive! It shows she orders products that are helpful and won't actually damage our hair. They also have the roll on body oils we love, some perfumes, and coffee grounds to freshen the nose after smelling all of the lovely scents. I am happy to have a beauty supply closer to me. A couple days ago, I was checking out when I overheard a person ask for a job application. Another worker asked the cashier (assisting me) where the applications were and her response was "we don't hire men." After the awkward silence of did-she-really-just-say-that hung in the air too long, she tried to clean it up and say "I'm not the owner but that's what they say". Too late. The damage is done. Your bias exposed. How do you sell men's products but don't have men to help with the products. That is bad business and discriminatory. I'll spend my gas and dollars elsewhere from now on.
