If you have been in the food service industry for that long in the same location, you can surmise that they must be doing something right. With a 3-star review from yours truly, rest assured, they are doing some things right (if by right you mean average). Tony is our waiter today. He is the exception to the rule I have about service competency and good food. Usually, bad to average food has outstanding service (they have to do something to get and keep customers). Tony is a clown who fails to grasp what it is he should do. If I still did the worst 5 servers, he would be on the list. Avoid Tony. I did manage to finagle an order of a Dozen Fried Shrimp, Oyster Po' Boy, and a side of cheese grits from Mr. Incompetent. Thankfully, the kitchen crew was more in tune with their job than Tony and my order was out in no time. At this point, I would suggest looking at the accompanying pictures. Sure looks fine and dandy, don't it? I turned my attention towards the grub, stuck some fried shrimp with my fork and plopped it in my maw. This was good. Fried to perfection, the shrimp were moist, succulent, savory and quite tasty. Without the other two items, this review would be a solid 4. This brings me to one of the other items, the Oyster Po'Boy. Like all good Southerners, I love me a good Po'Boy, be it shrimp, oysters, or crawdads. There is something about fried seafood on delicious bread that sings to my taste buds. However, the only song this inedible swill was singing to my palate was, "Don't Don't Do It" by Kendrick Lamar. The oysters had taken one too many turns in the walk-in. But hey, SAVE FOOD COST. Maybe some unaware denizen in North Brevard won't notice these mollusks were a day away from a Vibrio outbreak, and had they been breathing, they would certainly have been stertorous doing so. Moving on to the Cheese Grits had to be a step up, as there was nowhere else to go. While nothing to phone the neighbors about, they were tasty and at least not runny like a lot of places. We've been going here for over twenty years and it just continues to go downhill. After yesterday's visit, we won't go back. I got the Indian River platter, broiled. There was nothing broiled about it. I asked for garlic seasoning. Nope. No flavor. The sweet potato was the size of an egg. Smallest I've ever seen. When I asked the server about it, I got a snarky response and she came flying by and tossed a new one on the table, saying "that's the biggest we got". My date had the shrimp alfredo and had a hard time finding the shrimp! Terrible service from KC even though the place was empty. Tasteless food. Skimpy portions. The atmosphere is pretty good. Its similar to a fish camp (in the Carolina's). Its a pretty laid back, relaxing, and homey feeling. The rock shrimp is almost always awesome. Not overcooked, like Grille's Seafood tends to do. Good prices on it too. They have various combo platters. Serve a decent size variety of seafood. The lobsters I've seen them bring out are pretty big. The restaurant (to include bathrooms) are always very clean. They serve great tasting Sweet Tea. I always have to get some to go. You can purchase a souvenir cup too. Good customer service nowadays. Years ago, it wasnt so good, but the past 2 or 3 years, the service has been very good. My family and I went to this resteraunt on Tuesday, I recognized our waiter Tony right away from a previous visit. He was very friendly and attentive to all our needs. We were seated immediately and service was excellent. The atmosphere was what you would want for this kind of restaurant, homey (I guess that's the word I would use to describe it). Started off with complementary corn fritters and they were the best I've ever had. We had Fried Krabby Bite (excellent) and Fried Calamari (nothing special). My wife had Shrimp Tacos and she really liked them. Her Shrimp was different than the ones with my meal. She also had Clam Chowder and it was only ok. I had Catfish and Shrimp with a baked potato and broccoli. The broccoli was cooked to perfection and there was a lot of it. The baked potato was way overcooked and I stopped eating it. If the service was better, I would have given a higher rating. We waited over an hour for fish tacos and chicken tenders and fries. The fish came out cold and I sent it back. It came back much better and the tacos were good. If you are in Titusville, or just passing through, this is a great restaurant to stop for a meal. Even though it is a big place, it can get filled up quickly. So the suggestion is to come early. The room is clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and patient. The menu is extensive with a large selection of seafood. I hadn't been here in a long time, but we stopped on our drive to Orlando. We got the broiled rock shrimp with fries and broccoli. The corn fritters are delicious, and they bring them to the table when seated. We got seated very quickly on a Sunday afternoon, and the food came super fast. We were on our way to Spacex Falcon5 launch and I saw the sign for this on the highway. Checking Yelp encouraged us to pull on in. What a charming place! The place is big! They seated us by the window where you can see the fish swimming and the turtles sunning. Emma our server took our drink order and brought us corn fritters ( very yummy ) as we decided what to order. We ask Emma what she suggested since we couldn't decide. I chose the rock shrimp boiled and garlic butter with a baked potato and the soup of the day which was corn, shrimp, spicy sausage chowder. The chowder was very tasty- we really enjoyed it. I'm so happy that Emma suggested the rock shrimp it was so sweet almost like lobster! Great pick. My husband had grilled with blackened seasoning, mahi mahi and a baked potato with the same soup of the day. The mahi mahi was very flavorful and good. We had key lime pie for dessert that was a large piece we shared. Trip to the restroom before we left where it was very large and clean. This was a fun place to eat. Passing through the area and stopped here for lunch to have rock shrimp, which is their specialty. I had them broiled and they were very good. If you haven't tried them, they are like crayfish - a dozen weigh about as much as 3-4 medium shrimp. I started with the clam chowder which should be called "Essence on New England Clam Chowder" - if there were clams in it they were well hidden. The corn fritters were also very good. Finally got to experience eating at Dixie Crossroads as we always pass through I-95 South towards Titusville and just see the ads on the freeway. Parking was quick and it was easy to get a seat and got on the appetizers and ordered Calamari and 1 Dozen Oysters (So fresh and huge!) and also got a Yuengling draft with the big souvernir glass. GULP! For the main course we had the Dixie Spectacular for $59.99 which includes awesome pairings of 2 sides, 1 Maine Lobster, 1 dozen Rock Shrimp (1st time tasting em') 1/4 Scallops and 1/2 Crab Legs. Excellent, service is always great, except today. Not sure what happened. We sat along the windows by the road going East, first booth in the left as you turn the corner toward the women's bathroom. The waitress heard one thing and I said something else. It was obviously she was just too rushed and not listening to what people was saying. Asked for French not Ranch (finally found out they do not have French), and requested it on the side 1/2 was dumped on the salad, already. The baked potatoes were very small and over cooked they were a little mushy inside. I had the fried fish which had thick breading, it was hard to peel off, because it was very very spicy with old bay seasoning. I said please place it on the side, it definitely was not on the side. Heartburn the rest of the day. Thank you very much. One person had Fish tacos that didn't look very good, The other two had raw oysters (had to question if they came from a jar) and rock shrimp (very small), everything else was good. I'm giving three stars because of service and the food not being a quality meal as it always has been in the past. You asked for a high price on the food except today you really missed the mark. A small group of us Harley riders like to come to Dixie Crossroads on Saturdays to eat lunch. This place has been around a long time because it is good. The time I came I ordered the Shrimp Grits and as before tasted great. I am a big guy and a half order is enormous. Also the free hush puppies are always good. Our server, Brea, was top notch, and took great care of us and the surrounding patrons. Food was pretty good, though my rock shrimp were a tad dry, and even a little cold. Place got bigger and remains to be busy. We called ahead to put us on the list and they were able to sit our group of 11 on Fathers Day. Our server - she was amazing. She was on top of things. Recommended a few dishes for my family. There is a great selection of dishes for all age groups. They give you corn fritter with a generous amount of powdered sugar. So good. Make sure you slow down or won't finish your meal. My family from Alaska enjoyed the appetizers we ordered - cheese curds and gator bites. Even the kids are it. This go around I made sure I got the popular dish- Rock shrimp- grilled and seasoned. Great to dipped on lemon butter. I choose the special soup- seafood. I was really good.
