I finally checked this place out and was not disappointed! Everything was so good! So good that the pictures that were taken was AFTER we had already eaten. We had the fried chicken family meal with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The mashed potatoes didn't need the gravy. They were perfect. The sweet potato cake and peach cobbler were amazing. The best thing about Lloyd's is their clever name. I think they have a lot of room for improvement when it comes to their fried chicken. For $20 a plate, the chicken was extremely dry and not very flavorful. The sides were also forgettable and the quality of the entire dish was similar to Cracker Barrel. At this point, the fried chicken at Publix would be a better deal and higher quality. Stopped by for dinner and being a Texas boy let me just say, I have to hand it to them they knocked it out of the park. The fried chicken was on point. The fried green tomatoes and the collard greens were delicious by and standard and i mean delicious. It's hard for me to give this type of endorsement I don't sugar coat my review. I can't for get the sweet tea was also amazing. And to top it off the fried chicken gizzards were delicious as well. To finish it all off was the sweet potato pie it was nothing short of amazing. Once again the food and our waitress were superb!!!!! This time I had co-workers with me and they are still talking about the food and deserts. Mr Loyd I can't thank you enough for coming out to speak and take pictures. I had the fried chicken gizzards and an order of the blue crabs. SO SO SO GOOD!!!! Several people had the fried chicken and they LOVE IT!! The portions are big so you will fill up. Now one of the best things about our visit besides the food was Ms. J (I think that is her initial). This place is worthy of a Michelin star in my personal opinion. The first time I had, their food was from their food truck and it was delicious. We happened to be driving back home to Satellite Beach from a Mims speaking engagement and the owner of this restaurant was also a fellow speaker. So we stopped by the restaurant as we had such a good experience with their food truck and their story is inspiring. Oh my God, their food is even better at the restaurant. We ordered so much food, and each every dish was so delicious! We started off with fried green tomatoes, fried okra, smothered fried pork chops, fried catfish, collard greens, Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes & gravy, and lima beans. We were so satisfied full, we forgot to order dessert! And I had my eyes on the peach cobbler, as one doesn't see that offered by many restaurants. The service was great too. The old blond lady is extremely rude. I gave my order it was out in less than a minute it was very cold tasted like shit. The menu said it came with 2 muffins she gave me one I asked for my second one she gave me a real hard time and refused to give it to me. I showed her on the menu it said 2 she argued with me over a muffin still never got it. She wouldn't worm up my food I left. For the first time eating there it was very nasty and the staff was rude. I gave her food back and left. I will never step foot in that place. AND I WILL tell every one I k ow my very bad experience. She needs to go or the place should be shut down. I just may give the health department a call aswell. WHAT A ROTTEN EXPERIENCE FOR MY FIRST TIME THERE. In the spirit of visiting some black owned restaurants this month I decided to check out the hidden gem called LOYD HAVE MERCY This restaurant was about a 40 minute drive over to Titusville. The restaurant offers a variety of food like soul food, seafood & bbq. They offer takeout, delivery, catering or dining in & Since they are a family restaurant, I was not at all surprised when I saw Mr. Loyd himself walking around & chatting with the guests. I arrived and was able to get seated at a booth right away. They had some specials being offered & after looking over the menu I decided to order a sweet tea/ lemonade mix & for my meal I got the Citrus beef short rib. I had them put the jerk sauce that it comes with, on the side. This meal came with mango slaw & a side of potato salad . I added a side of greens. I decided to order the seafood stew. The stew has fish, mussels, shrimp,& Crab in it & its served over yellow rice . For dessert I ordered the peach cobbler. The food definitely tasted homemade. Like somebody grandma was back there whipping up plates. The short rib came right off the bone it was delicious with or without the sauce. The seafood stew was a little salty but very tasty. The peach cobbler was good, & very different because it was like a bread pudding style, which I liked. I definitely enjoyed my food & I enjoyed the short conversation I had with Mr Loyd.
