The pre-installation process was straightforward and very helpful, giving me a clear understanding of what to expect. Unfortunately, installation day brought several complications. A team of three began installing 16 windows, but just 15 minutes in, one technician badly twisted an ankle and had to leave. The remaining two proceeded to remove all windows on a scorching 90+ degree day before starting replacements, turning my home into an uncomfortably hot and humid environment. While they finished the installation that day, it was an incredibly long shift, from just before 10 AM until 9 PM, requiring my continuous supervision. I noted that a drop cloth was only used for the very first window, which helped with the mess initially but wasn't continued. Another issue was the window color. I had specified a tan/wicker exterior with a white interior, but received entirely white windows. To avoid a 6-8 week delay and a $350 rescheduling fee, I accepted them. They do look good, and the white exterior matches my previous windows, so I'm not overly concerned about this. My primary outstanding concern is a gutter downspout that was removed during installation and never reinstalled. Despite multiple calls (three to the install team, two to the service team), I haven't received any communication or action to rectify this. This lack of follow-up so soon after installation makes me question the reliability of their warranty service.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Window Nation…read more I had a representative come to my home to provide a quote for 8 windows. After the appointment, I decided to take a few days to do my due diligence and gather a couple of additional quotes before making a decision. Three days later, I received an email from the Sales Manager, Richard Hansen, with a revised quote. Surprisingly, the new price was significantly lower than the original quote, but it was for 11 windows instead of the 8 I actually needed. Since the pricing was much more competitive, I reached back out and simply asked for the same pricing to be adjusted for the 8 windows I wanted to purchase. Richard responded that the lower price had been sent in error due to a "system glitch" and that Window Nation would not honor it. Mistakes can happen, but what was most disappointing was the company's unwillingness to stand behind the quote they sent or make any effort to find a reasonable solution. As a customer who was genuinely interested in moving forward, it left me feeling that the pricing was inconsistent and that customer satisfaction wasn't a priority. I expected better communication and better customer service from a company of this size. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to take my business elsewhere.

Update on my previous review. I had 3 Provia exterior doors installed along with a four-panel…read moresliding glass door. A significant purchase to upgrade my home. I choose to utilize their financing and pay the lump sum a year from now. From the moment I signed the contract it took two months for them to manufacture my order and install. It would have been longer if I would had created the opening for the sliding glass door. My friend who is having a similar project completed started his contract before me and until date has not has is sliding glass door installed just his door. I negotiated a price with the sales rep Corey who was knowledgeable and respectful. If you purchase from Marvin they have to be the ones to install, they claim it's for warranty purposes. However, if the installation (sliding glass door) would be in a place where there isn't an existing opening you can get your own GC to create an opening for installation. I highly recommend you go this route I was able to save 15k on the project. I dealt with Gabe the project manager who was first-class, responsive, and honest. It was a pleasure dealing with him. Marvin will subcontract out the installation. Paul the installer and his team were superb, they pay close attention to detail and are open to feedback, and if you don't like something they will redo it if it's within their power. The installation was scheduled for four days, however, it was completed in one day, and on the second day they came to touch things up. I was surprised by this rapid push but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. After the doors were installed two things were wrong. One, the locking mechanism for the sliding glass door which secures the top of one of the panels does not function. I was informed by Gabe that this is a manufacturing defect that has become a common problem. Two, on the exterior of my sliding glass door there is a threshold that needs to be installed which they didn't have in stock. I was told that the locking mechanism would take 2 months to order and install (although they are the manufacturer) and the wooden threshold would take a month. If you pay 30K for a project you would expect completion, especially considering that their products and installation are substantially marked up in pricing. I share my concerns and disappointment with the service manager (again 30K project). I communicate that the project is not complete and if I am being inconvenienced therefore financing of the project should not begin until completion and they should join me in my inconvenience. The response from the service manager was not to apologize, share empathy and or seek to come up with an amicable resolution. The response was to justify their installation so that they could get paid by the finance company. It feels like bad business to me. To Marvin completion of project is installation regardless of missing parts. Today, I received a call from the finance company so that Marvin can receive their payment for an incomplete project. In this process I learned that a General Contractor can go direct to the manufacturer in an effort to complete your project. The biggest benefit I found going through Marvin would be the zero percent and no payment for a year.

Instead, some of the drywall tape has not been mudded and the parts that are mudded are covered in large globs of mud. Our doors arrived with no hinges. After waiting for the hinges to come in, they installed the wrong trim. We have been waiting for 6 months for these doors and they are still not finished. We were given incorrect information by the sales rep and by the scheduler. A purchase this expensive should not come with all these problems. Never again!
