This was my second time in and both times the owner was so welcoming and helpful. First time they had a road show with wonderful hand dyed yarns. The second time she had a notion I had been looking for. She helped me get my knitting back on track since I didn't fully finish a stitch on the previous row. First, I love their selection of yarn AND notions. I bought several really fun things there, including needle stoppers and a fun pin cushion. Mary Virginia helped me find some yarn for a project that I needed and I also talked to two women who were knitting at the community table. I forgot my knitting bag there and they MAILED IT TO ME! What a lovely way to end a wonderful day! I popped into this LYS after a work event. The knitters and owner were incredibly friendly. They greeted me immediately and steered me right to the locally dyed yarn, at my request. They shared project ideas and knitting experience with several yarns. I ended up purchasing 5 skeins, and some notions and needles (and will be going back for more). They caked a skein for me and printed a pattern as well. Next time, I'll make sure I leave time to sit and stitch!! read more

So, I had paid for a knitting lesson for Saturday, Nov 15. However, I unexpectedly collapsed on my sidewalk, went to the ER and then into the ICU with a concussion, brain bleed, facial fractures, bruised ribs ad wrist, cuts, scrapes and bruises, but guess what? When I reached out about the possibility of rescheduling due to my severe injuries, what was my response? Zilch, nada, rien, crickets! If you don't want to give a refund, then have the cajones to tell me instead of ignoring me and my email! Thank you for nothing! I would give minus stars, but it isn't possible. I stopped by Dixie Knits for the first time a few weeks ago. I live in Leesburg, Ga, but we came to Pensacola for a couple of days. So happy we stopped - such a welcoming, well stocked shop. Beautiful yarn, some locally dyed, and so many quality accessories. We were greeted as soon as we came in and made to feel at home. I'd had a question about knitting slanted shoulders and got great advice about videos and teachers to watch. I found a good video and it worked like a charm! If you're new to an area or maybe trying to make new friends, I recommend stopping at a local yarn shop like Dixie Knits, even if you aren't currently a knitter. Take a class, there's usually knitting or crochet offered. You'll meet some great people. Try something new! I hope to visit again in the future and will definitely be looking when shopping online. read more

Very friendly woman greeted me and made sure I could find everything I needed. Average yarn selection. A little Malabrigo but not a big selection. They have some pretty yarns they just aren't chock full of yarn like some yarn shops. Lots and lots of accessories however and they give discounts if you're in the military or healthcare! read more

I evacuated for Hurricane Ida and stayed with my brother and sister-in-law near Pensacola. I needed my yarn fix to ease my anxiety and found Dixie Knits. There was a little knitting group going when I arrived, all so welcoming, which put me immediately at ease. The owner Mary was so delightful and knowledgable! I will definitely be going back next time I visit my brother. If I lived closer I'd love knitting there with the group! read more

New shop in Downtown Pensacola. Friendly and welcoming. Nice selection of fine yarns in a variety of fibers. Tons of needles to choose from, and lots of accessories. There is a big table with lots of room to gather, with a separate space for a classroom. And, there is a bit of free parking in the back! Just what we needed downtown! read more
