As a business owner myself, I rarely ever leave negative reviews. However, after meeting James "DJ" and his combative attitude about my issues, I recommend you choose to support another small detailing business in the city. 1) I was invoiced $1050 and then hit with a surprise 3.5% credit card fee. It mentions no where on his website this fee nor the original invoice, or any text or phone calls until it was time to make payment. I negotiate it down to $950 cash, all before seeing the vehicle. 2) Vehicle collected from him on Thursday 9:00 AM & promised for Friday at 5:00 PM, on the way there from the airport he says it needs to dry so I tell him no problem. I will pick it up Saturday from his locker. 3) Upon picking it up from his locker, I immediately had two more issues: - The interior was not completed. This is a $250 standalone service advertised on his site. Since 2006, I have owned many Mercedes, Lexus, etc. Every detail shop always leaves those "Thank you paper floor mats" that shows it was quality checked by someone and in pristine condition. My interior was anything but that. I immediately sent photos to DJ which blamed on a new employee. - My Mercedes OEM First-Aid kid was stolen from the vehicle. I inform DJ about this and I had a walk-around video prior to leaving it at the mechanic shop he retrieved the vehicle from. The only reason I knew this was taken because I had backup prescription medication inside of it (along with always keeping emergency $100 cash in it) The kit was eventually tracked down days later allegedly in a car at the Range Rover dealership. Minus my meds/cash. Whatever. DJ claims he use to work there and knows no one would ever go through it, which makes me out to be a liar I guess? 4) He did personally return the medkit on Monday and offer to vacuum the inside. Two problems: - I don't have electrical outlet where I was staying at - I don't live in Louisville most of year, no time to go back to his shop - For a $250 service, you think you would get more than a vacuum. The rubber floors mats also need water and scrub. Positives of DJs Detailing: - The exterior of the vehicle was great and no issues! - DJ's Detailing offers Pickup & Drop for small extra charge - Cash discounts offered I thought asking for a $200 concession was more than fair after my experience, while he could still make a profit and retain a customer. Even if he does not want to take responsibility for my medkit going missing with inside contents, the interior was never completed! The $200 refund was refused. I will not be recommending DJ's Detailing to anyone. If you choose to use DJ's Detailing, make sure to video evidence everything in there, no matter how small. All your owners manuals, first-aid kits, etc. all have value. Perhaps some customers don't even know they go missing until they actually need them later in life! He seems very unorganized. I am floored with the impeccable service I received today. DJ was incredibly professional, an exceptionally easy communicater, and provided fast service. My interior looks brand new and flawless. I had my interior detailed today along with front window tinting and a sun strip tint on my windshield. I had a very rough last year, a big life transition and my car interior reflected that. Became a catch all space. I have traveled with my German shepherd and my seats were covered in hair, very tough to remove. I previously had a side mirror replaced elsewhere and my window would not roll down. He went through the trouble to see if he could open the door panel and fixed the connection! My headlight was out and he got that to work too! My interior was absolutely embarrassing and unfortunately disgusting. I had staining, spills, kid snack yuck from my two year old and nasty dirt, all over my seats. I was so embarrassed to even show him how I've let my car go. He made me so comfortable, was so kind, and completely blew me away with how he brought my car back to life. I was so self conscious to bring anyone into my car and now, I can't wait to show it off to others. The service, the experience, all was such a confidence boost for me. It made a not so emotional individual want to cry. I felt zero judgement and his team took the job on like a champ. I absolutely recommend him to anyone and will definitely be back for other services. His pricing was very reasonable. As I write this, I am still in shock that he was able to pull such a task off. I thought it was beyond repair. Thank you DJ and your team for what you do. You service went above and beyond my expectations. You helped a girl out and revitalized her mental health. Accidentally left my sunroof open overnight in the rain. DJ was so helpful- he squeezed me in first thing that morning when I called him. I called multiple other companies in the area and they either did not pick up the phone or said they didn't know if they could fit me in and I'd have to leave my car overnight. That wasn't an option for me as I had to leave for a business trip the next day. He was able to completely dry out my interior before the end of my work day. DJ is literally one of the nicest guys my husband and I have met in a long time - when he left, I joked to my husband that he felt like a long lost friend! DJ recently detailed my Mercedes SUV and it looks Fantastic! It wouldn't be accurate to write after detailing my 2 year old vehicle that looks like new because it actually looks BETTER than it did when it was new! DJ's very professional and knowledgeable.
