I recently started looking to get a remote start installed in my car. Because of my familiarity with the Big Box Electronics Store located on Shelbyville Rd. (read between the lines) I went there first. Ordered and paid for a starter but when it came to installation...another story. Cancelled because they couldn't actually manage to do the install. Wait a few months to dip my foot in the waters again, only to have Big Box Electronics Store located on Shelbyville Rd, once again, have no available install slots on their calendar. Cancelled the order again and decided to look locally. My first call was to Xtreme Autosound. I gave them the specs for my car and they quoted me a similar system to the one I previously ordered/cancelled for just a little higher price, but with the added bonus of actually being able to do the installation. They also had the parts I needed in stock. Xtreme doesn't make appointments for remote start installations and works on a first-come, first-served basis, so I was there the next morning at 8:45 am. My car was taken right in and the work began. I was given an estimated time to install of about 2 hours, so I waited in the waiting area. The waiting area amounts to a few chairs, so I was able to work while my car was being worked on. By the amount of people traffic that morning, Xtreme Autosound does a pretty steady business. The entire customer-facing area was kept clean and well lit. Boxes of product ready for installation populated some areas of the floor and new/featured product placement throughout told you that Xtreme keeps current with auto sound technologies. About 90 minutes into my estimated two hour wait I was told my car was ready. Not bad! I paid and was taken to my car where I got my "this is how it works" demo. Should I ever decide to have any more work done on my car, Xtreme Autosound is the place I'll be going. When I called to ask questions, I was given quotes and prices with options. The guy also had great telephone etiquette, which is something that is lacking in so many businesses. I dropped off my car and was given a time to return to pick it up. It was ready and waiting for me before the scheduled time. The guy have me instructions for the protection and care of my tint for the first 2 weeks (which is a crucial time) and into perpetuity. The tint has a lifetime warranty. This business has been giving service in this location for over 25 years. So, I'm sure it will be around, and willing to repair or replace, if anything happens to the tint. The service I received was for a car starter. They were fast and efficient. I took my car around 12 and they were done around 2:30. It wouldn't been sooner but it was lunch time. They took the time to explain all the options to me for my car. I really appreciated that because I had no clue. They did not wear their masks consistently. Some not at all. One in particular said "we have been in so many people's cars and haven't gotten covid yet". That is kind of concerning with that mentality. They could be contaminating my car. All in all, I thought this is a great place to get service. The only reason I have it 4 stars is because of the mask part. But i can tell you that we charge $125 to install a camera and $125 to install a radio w/bt and touch screen, and $50 to install steering wheel controls. Plus any parts you may need. I didn't purchase my sound system from here since I'm from out of state. But my subwoofer recently stopped working. I came here just to have someone check out if something was wrong. The guy working here checked all the cables, tested everything with the meter, even checked the fuse under the hood. Turns out it was one wire just slightly loose that you couldn't even tell really until he started playing with everything to figure out what was wrong. Other places wanted to charge me over $50 just to take a look at it like this place did. This guy did it for free but I insisted he take $5 cash I had in my wallet for his time. It's rare to find someone that won't rip you off these days. I was referred to Xtreme Auto Sound by my local Best Buy - which sells car stereos cheaply enough, but has the worst installation set-up going. I was really pleased with how quickly the guys at Xtreme were able to install my replacement car stereo (like oil change fast). Very professional service. I think if you wanted a fancy after-market stereo set-up, this should be your first stop. Lots of speakers and stereos to get the sound you want. Or, if like me, you drive a glorified rollerskate and just want the cheapest possible stereo that will play a CD and connect to an MP3 player, they will have you squared away and back on the road in no time. If you go, disregard the info on their business cards and the like. They will try to tell you they are located on "Old Bardstown" Road - put that in your GPS and you'll end up in Bullitt County. They are on regular Bardstown by the Buechel Bypass. My installation would have been a lot quicker if I hadn't spent 30 minutes driving around out where God lost his shoes first. read more

Great Experience this place is worth my time to write a review. I wanted a remote start via cellphone as the weather has been dipping low recently and I have to wake up before dawn to go to work. As such, I often have difficulty with iced windshields along and a freezing car in the morning. These guys offered the Viper Remote Start Installation at the fairest prices around town, and they were not located in a sketchy area like Radcliff or Valley Station. So I drove from the slums of Valley Station to the safer Bardstown Road, and the trip was worth it. I chose the remote start with 1 way remote that replaced my OEM remote so that I could lock and unlock with that same remote (there are different tiers) along with the viper smart start. It's a great idea to have friends who can drive with you or pick you up to go waste time somewhere else while they install(or leave your car overnight) but I had no friends and needed it done same day. So they took my car in quoted me 3 hours as there were other cars ahead of me. To waste time I walked up and down the street, if you're like me and had no one to hangout with, make sure you go down and check out the Jasmine Bakery. Great Food at great prices, they not only make bread/pastries, but also coffee, and serve gyros. I got the Large gyro and it was pretty delicious. I believe yelp showed a pizza store right next to the Jasmine Bakery which was rated pretty high and worth trying out too. You can also go car shopping if that's your thing, I think I saw about 3 used car dealerships within walking distance. Anyways, it ended up taking about 4 hours (1 hour past close) but the workers seemed genuinely happy to stay late and finish the job. They have a really friendly and professional staff, who will help you put together whatever stereo, tinting, remote start system you want. Even after closing, they made sure my smart start was set up properly and since I had never had remote start, they still made sure I got a walk through of all the basic features. I want to start this review off by saying my mechanical issue had nothing todo with them... And if I could rate them 500 stars I would... and so now, starts the story... 15 minutes Before open Time on 12/1/18 I took my 2000 Dodge Ram I just bought in for a faulty stereo and wires. They were nice enough to let me in and discuss my problem. They tested the system told me what all was wrong etc within about 15 min of being there. I decided todo all new speakers and stereo which was well priced and within my budget with a great warranty (1 year on products lifetime labor) After install which only took 1.5 hours They started my truck up, brought it outside and set stereo with me. Then we shut the truck off. Then as I went to leave, it wouldn't start back up. Sounded like starter turned out to be bad cables. But they brought 3!! Technicians from the back that were working on other people's products to help me get it started. Which we did and then I drove home and replaced cable. Point being is, my mechanical issues had nothing todo with them. But yet, they were outside trying to get it right for me, free of charge. The customer service there is off the charts. And the owner kept me and another gentleman company chatting with us about stereos cars whatever we were talking about etc for our length of time there. I came into Xtreme Autosound today looking for a certain type of upgrade for my stereo for a Jeep. After explaining what I was looking for I was directed towards a stereo that was $799.99 and one that was about $1200 which had what I was asking for plus just a little. After he asked me a few questions he realized that I cared less about certain features than others and directed me towards a stereo that fit almost everything I wanted and was $319.99. So I had them install it, and was out the door in less than an hour and a half including a well done tutorial of how to use it and link it to my phone, (yadda yadda). All this while staying after hours about 20 minutes to get it done that day for me. It was a great experience, I will likely be coming back there for a few more upgrades in the near future and I will update how the other upgrades go. From a personal note, as a sales people, they did a good job of accommodating my questions without overrunning a sales pitch and making me feel pressured in any way. They actually listened to what I wanted and managed to save me about $400 dollars while only loosing out on something I didn't find that important to begin with. First let me say, stay away! DONT DEAL WITH THEM. I bought a Kenwood stereo and Viper alarm system and had them install it. All was good so I decided to have them tint my windows. I had bubbles and lint in the back and lint on the side window I understand it's hard to do a perfect job so I was reluctant to have them fix it but went ahead and addressed the issues. I met with the owner and we looked at it he said I have to expect this because I have carpet in the car. Wow!!
