They took a couple of short breaks and a half an hour for lunch then completed the work at about 3:30 PM. The job involved removing one Redwood tree and trimming a Pistacio, Maple, Sycamore and crabapple trees The crew seemed to work well together and the final cleanup was excellent. Our backyard was a mud pit and needless to say required a lot of work. When we first began looking for landscape contractors, we obtained six estimates before deciding to work with Chris. Chris came out and took his time walking our yard and talked with us in great detail about the drainage system we needed, given that our lot is a good 2 feet higher than the two lots behind us. We found him to be much more knowledgeable and thorough then any of the other contractors we talked to. He also really understood our vision of what we wanted and offered great guidance from his expertise. He communicated wonderfully throughout each job he has done for us. We have hired him 3 times for drainage, irrigation, paving stones, lattice extension on fence, building pergola and building deck for hot tub, built outdoor shower, and put in trees. I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out, but just know he can do it all. We also use his company for regular yard maintenance and have had a wonderful experience with Richard his lawn maintenance guy. I hired them to cut back trees in my backyard to the fence line. When Ross came for the estimate I…read moreasked if I needed to remove some leaves in the area. He said no, they would take care of it since the debris of the trees being trimmed had to be removed, and I need not worry. I PAID for the removal of the debris. I even had them put it in the contract & emailed him directly ensuring it was ok. He wrote back stating everything would be taken care of. The day of the work when they arrived they had a picnic lunch in front of my house for about an hour. When they were wrapping it up I went out to inspect and they had not trimmed to the fence line, especially at very top of trees. I asked them to continue until everything was back to the fence line. They weren't happy but knew I was right so they did it. When they were about to leave the second time, I inspected. They hadn't cleaned up all the debris in that area, but had pushed it back in a massive pile against the fence. They got Ross on the phone and the worker handed phone to me. Ross was mad, he tried to tell me that wasn't included and that they were giving me free work. First of all I triple checked with him specifically regarding the cleanup and debris removal and second of all nothing was free. I paid $907.50 for this job to get done. He said he would call me back after he checked the email I had sent him and as I was handing the phone back to the worker and forgetting that the phone was on speaker. I said what an asshole and he heard me and got very very, very mad. He called me back said they would take care of it but that I should be grateful because he gave me stuff for free and that they would never ever ever want to do business with me again that's fine. I would never do business with them again as they did not stick to the agreement and tried to tell me I was getting things for Free and trying. To get away with doing a substandard job.
