It's…read moretrue that membership is a touch on the expensive side ($100 per year + one day of service at the range), but the ranges are well worth it. Indoor range prices are some of the better prices in Il (compared to the $18-20 an hour up north) Darnall's offers $15 per hour for non-members and $12 per hour for members. The Trap and Skeet range are priced very nicely and are very well equipped and maintained. The outdoor range for rifle and pistol isn't anything fantastic, but does go out to 150 yards and is a quiet and clean place to shoot in Il. It's exceedingly hard to find rifle ranges in Illinois. The staff is fantastic. They'll generally cater to your every need (within reason, of course) and have set up the trap range in the dead of winter for me. They also rent guns out (last time I checked it was a S&W M&P auto 9mm, Taurus PT1911 and Ruger MKIII .45/22) for the pistol range. As far as I know they don't allow you to rent rifles and shotguns. Ammo usage is a bit strict on the indoor and will impose a problem on those of us that use combloc ammo. They require brass cases and most combloc ammos are steel cased. Ammo prices there are a bit expensive, as well, but understandable. The ammo they offer is highquality and they have any and all ammo you could ever need. Just be prepared to pay about $2-8 more per box than you do online or at discount stores. I think it's worth the price, though, as you'll never find better service. The selection of guns for sale is fantastic, as well. Any brand you can imagine: they can get their hands on. They can help you out with. They can take care of for you. They even sell Blackpowder and Cowboy action guns for those of us that prefer the oldschool touch. To top it off: they offer topshelf gunsmithing. They seem to know every and any brand of firearm and have parts for them, as well. The gunsmith work is fairly inexpensive and is definitely well worth the price. I highly suggest this range/store/gunsmith to ANY person in the Central Illinois area. Sure, you can buy cheaper ammo. But the question is: can you find better service? You really can't find better service than these folks! Go here, honestly: the best!

This was during an extremeley cold and icy period of weather here in central Illinois. There were no other sizes of said shoes available so we just ask for a refund. Then we presented our receipt, only to be told that we were one day late for the refund of the sale merchandise shoes. 1 day! I expressed my displesure of the return declination and ws referred to a manager that gave me a scolding, but eventually accepted the new unworn sale shoes that did not fit as a return. I am appreciative of the acceptance of the return, but because of this getting dragged through the mud before acceptingthe return I have chosen to just stay out of this place and have not returned! Retail managers sometimes act like straw bosses when the owners give them a stripe on their arm and they think they are a general in the military. It is said that one bad experience in a retail establishment will take seven repeat returns with a good experience in order reestablish a trusted relationship with said business.
