I received an ad for 10% off window coverings. I was planning to get window coverings for 3 windows above my stairs so I reached out and asked for a quote. Bella was very quick in responding back to get measurements. I went into the showroom to see the different type of window coverings they offered and she sent me estimated quotes. Kaitlyn came out to measure my windows and gave me more information on the style of what I am looking for. They also sent me samples of the styles I liked to see if it looks good in my house. The quote after I chose the styles were a lot more expensive than I expected. That was after additional discounts were added. I chose the designer roller shades with solar and small add ons which came out to a total of $3118 for three windows that were about 23x40 inches. I did not want to get something cheaper that I did not like so I went for the more expensive style and price. Kaitlyn had to come back and double check on the measurements as well. It took about 3 weeks for my shades to be ready and installed. Bryan got the three windows installed in about an hour and a half. He showed me how to use the controller which is attached to the wall, both at the top and bottom of my stairs. It can also be controlled on an app on my phone too which is very convenient to have set times the shades automatically open/close on a schedule. I noticed a big difference in the privacy the roller shades gave even though I selected the semi-opaque shades. Previously, I can see directly into my neighbor's house at night when they have the light on, but now I cannot see through even when their light is on so I am assuming it is the same when they look through our windows. Overall, it was worth it and it looks really nice as well. The shades are slightly crooked, but that may be from the house not being perfectly aligned around the windows. The service has been amazing from everyone I worked with at DLUX, and so I would recommend them if you need window coverings. read more

I rarely if ever write reviews on companies but as a newer resident in the Reno area with a higher end home maybe this will help another neighbor. Dlux was recommended to me by a local designer. I needed both motorized drapes for a master bedroom and various solar shades around the house. Dlux is a major proponent of Hunter Douglas which is also one of the most expensive shades you can get. What i believed to be the owners cathi and her daughter Kaitlyn came to my home several times. On the front end they come across as family and we're quirky but knowledgeable. During the measuring phase of the job i witnessed Kaitlyn and her mother constantly second guessing each other on the drapes measurements and projections which will become relevant in a moment. The front end of the experience was quirky like i said. Kaitlyn can be pushy and not listen to what the customer wants and tries to push you into what she wants in your home. But i rate companies on their follow thru and after care. That's where the family feeling turned to a "not it" vibe pretty quickly. I bought three different types of Hunter Douglas shades. The most expensive product on the market. The solar shades that are mechanical are hard to move and get caught on the windows and loose chains. The largest shades control chain broke off in my hand the first time i went to raise it. I also bought motorized solar shades. One of those unraveled itself and was lying on the floor one day when i got home. And lastly i bought a Roman shade with blackout in the center. The door shade material ripped off and was just hanging. Then there's the motorized drapes. They sit to close to the wall and when you operate them they aren't smooth and tug at the solar shades that are underneath for privacy. In all fairness to Dlux The Hunter Douglas company must be going thru some quality issues and i asked Dlux to offer me a different brand or other solution because if one shade is bad more are probably going to fail and I've been afraid to use the shades because of that. Kaitlyn has now responded that i should call Hunter Douglas but i didn't buy the shades directly and my relationship is with Dlux. Long story short. I spent over 20k with Dlux and have broken shades and drapes that aren't properly fitted to the wall and the company has zero urgency to rectify my issues or provide me with a different alternative. They've taken a shade for repair and said they'd put up a temp shade since it's the master bathroom but that didn't even happen. I guess my point to all this is. If it's a simple shade with not much issue Dlux is probably ok. If it's a complicated custom job and there's any problems on the backside i probably wouldn't recommend this company. read more

The products are top quality and the service is unsurpassable. When my power shade stopped working about 2 years after installation (the batteries were low), Kaitlyn responded immediately and replaced the batteries with a rechargeable pack. At no cost ! This is a follow up on my original review dated 9/20/19. We recently experienced some problems with our shutters. DLux, sent Carrie out to inspect the issue. She diagnosed the problem and ordered replacements. The shutters were ordered and installed. Now everything is working fine. It has been two years since DLux installed the shutters. Working with Nouveau Designs, Cathi Bales (owner) and Nicole Marquez (designer) was a great pleasure. They both helped me with decisions, were incredibly patient with my indecisions and many many questions. I generally knew what I wanted for my window treatments but they helped me understand points I had not thought of, hence, hiring the professionals. They helped me with fabric choices, what to line my linen drapes with, colors, hardware, and wall height mounting choices. Then of course, sewing the drapes, ordering the natural shades (I wanted a specific brand) and installing. Both Nicole and Cathi were fun to work with, professional, and such good listeners to my needs and wants. It's refreshing to work with professionals that take the time to understand the clients wishes, as well as, help the client understand certain aspects of the job in which the client may be unaware (as in my case). I learned a lot through this process. They not only were fun to work with, but I love the finished product. I knew I was in good hands. Although they are very nice people, the end result was very disappointing. My custom bedding does not fit properly in any direction although all the measurements were made here in my home by Cathi. The additional weight should have been accounted for. The custom draperies hang badly; very wrinkled. Cathi did return to steam them but this did not fix the problem. Very expensive material; expensive work; and I am not very happy with the end result. read more
