I initially called someone I had used previously to fix my leaking refrigerator and iced up freezer. That guy never showed, so I thought I'd give Devon a try although he couldn't see me until Friday of that Week. On Friday morning I phoned him again and left a vm, reminding him of our appointment. Less than 20 minutes later I got a return call and he sweetly assured me that he would never just not show up. When he arrived, Devon literally took my refrigerator apart to figure out the problem. It took 2 and 1/2 hours and even then he wasn't sure he fixed it. He was honest, smart, and delightful. He told me to call him over the weekend if there was still water leakage or a blizzard my freezer and he'd come right over. He also said he would call Monday to make sure he had resolved the problems. He did call that Monday to make sure all was well. Professional. Reasonable. Honest. Placed my clothes in the dryer overnight and woke up to wet, cold clothes. My first fear is that the heater element was gone. Second fear was that I'd be without a dryer for days based upon what I'd read about current service times. Not only did I receive a call back from Devon within an hour of my message, but luckily he had a break in his schedule and was able to provide same day service. Best of all, it was an internal fuse causing the issue. He had the correct fuse in stock and was able to repair the dryer on the spot. He also advised me to get the ducts cleaned as the buildup their could cause the fuse to trip again. This was not an upsale as he does not do this kind of work or partner with others who do. I highly recommend DMartin Home Appliance Repair. We had a bit of an emergency, our son and his wife have a baby on the way and our dryer went out. Devon came out to diagnose the problem on a Saturday. He ordered the replacement part for us, and came out the evening that the part arrived. He's a one man operation, knows his business and takes pride in his work. You won't get the same pride from one of the bigger repair services. Devon didn't just install the replacement part, he took a long time to verify that everything else on the dryer was working. Also, at his own expense, he ordered an extra main board for the dryer just in case there was a second problem that wasn't apparent until the repair was made. He returned my initial call for help right away, is personable, showed up right when he said he would, properly diagnosed the problem with our dishwasher, called the distributor about the part it needed while at our house, and - knowing our house is under contract and going to be inspected in a few days - volunteered to come back the next day, on a Saturday (he normally does not work Saturdays) to install it. My newish clothes dryer went all wonky and I called DMartin Appliance Repair. He was so cheerful and sympathetic about my problem, and agreed to come when convenient to us both to fix it. I texted him the vital info on the dryer so he could be ready with parts if needed. He arrived on time, masked up, and asked a few questions. Turns out the dryer only needed to be reset, but he went through a full troubleshooting regimen just to make sure. Devon did a fantastic job fixing our dryer, which was spinning but producing no heat. I called 5 companies and choose him because of his professionalism and reasonable cost. $89 for the whole repair (issue was broken fuse). His diagnostic fee goes towards the repair if you use him, which isn't true for some other companies. He also replaced our air vent duct at no charge. We use him again for sure.
