All the renovations he did were substandard. Within a week of using the bathroom, the floor tiles started moving and making noise when you walk on them. Bathroom faucet was installed wrongly with water coming out of the shower and tap simultaneously. He used the wrong grout for the bathroom wall tiles. He damaged the bathroom vanity sink and the wall closet doors while installing them. Damaged the kitchen sink while working in the unit. Painting was not done perfectly. There were also other minor fixes that were included in the contract that we discovered were not done. He refused to show up when called upon to fix these issues. At the onset, he claimed he has a team of people working for him, saying he will be done in 2 weeks. He took a month. He asked for a substantial payment even before starting saying his workers will not work if not paid. Within one or two weeks of the job starting, he was asking for more part payment again saying his workers needed to be paid. He is also a thief. He said he needed some items to complete the work and that he couldn't wait for me to get them. I asked him to go ahead and and buy them but bring the receipts. It was much later when I was going over the receipts that I found out he had purchased two work tools for himself on one of the receipts. The job was for a vacant unit which was very far away from where we lived which made it hard to monitor while the renovations was going on but we had trusted and believed that if he was listed with Home Depot, then he must know the job. We were wrong. We reported him to Home Depot but even they could not get him to show up to get the issues fixed. I decided to put up this review so that someone else will not fall victim. Do not be swayed by his website especially with the listed pictures/videos of jobs he had done or be swayed by his verbal knowledge of the job with what best brand is needed to be bought to do the job and why. The owner has extensive knowledge in his field and solutions for any roofing situation. Primary has the manpower for any job of any size. 6 guys came to my house to do my roof wow 6 guys. Installing a roof is a major part of a home reno and if you don't have someone who knows what they are doing it can be very wet and messy. I first found NJ Elite / Ryan through Service Magic in July 2012. I'm always a bit skeptical using these services and had really considered DIY-ing the replacement of the island range hood in my 25+ year old kitchen. THANK GOD I did not attempt it myself because it took like...7-10 hours and a lot of climbing into a tiny hole in 100F sweltering heat to replace the entire thing because it was so old. Ryan also found/replaced burnt wires which could've led to a fire in the house...no thanks to the original builders of my home!! In the end, the island range hood hung beautifully from the ceiling and out-shined the crappy old cabinets in the kitchen :) Since then, I had moved to another country and trusted Ryan to work on other jobs on my 2 properties. I know he stands by his work 100% and his prices are very reasonable and fair. I also trust him to be professional with my tenants and will carry out the work to the highest standards even in my absence. The bathroom came out great. However, when it came time for clean-up and disposal he left me hanging. His excuses ranged from "my truck is still in the repair shop," to "I'm very busy on another job." Never mind what the contract stipulates. His job does not include removing any debris if he can't find the time. Now I'm left with figuring out how to remove a sink, vanity, glass, wood, etc... from my garage. Thanks, Ryan!
