Many people advertise that they work Essex County but tell them the property is in Newark and they change their tune. Due to my allergies, my husband and I are basically tearing our newly purchased home apart room by room looking for the source of the flare-ups. So you can imagine that we were pretty desperate to find a good contractor, that would actually come to property AND know what they were doing! When I spoke to Monroe (the owner), he was very professional, booked our estimate appointment in a timely fashion and came when he said he was going to come. The same on the day of the job. We've since had another flooring project done (full carpet installation), and are looking to have some work done in our bathroom. I highly recommend Morris Family Construction. They'll get what you need done; it's going to look good, and it won't take forever. So glad we found them!

I was helping an old friend to renovate her 1960's home. I was not living in her area and did not…read moreknow any contractors in her area. I connected with IC Home Design and the owner Horia. The first job was to take down and rebuild a very old worn out deck. The job completed on time and at the price quote. The craftsmenship was impressive. I then added the ronovation of a shed used for gardening supplies. Again the workmanship and finished product was outstanding. By this point I was completely confident in the quality of work done by IC Home Design. Next was taking up an old kitchen floor with several of flooring including old 4 x4 tile. IC Home Design quickly removed flooring and prepared the surface for new wall to wall tile which he also installed. I wanted the new kitchen cabinets to sit on the new tile. Ultimately he installed the new cabinets and finished off the kitchen install including new appliances, replacing a window with rotted wood and adding some additional electrical outlets. Next up IC Homes completely updated a secondary bathroom and then total renovated the master bathroom. Later IC Home found a floor refinisher to sand down the original hardwood floors and stain the floors which looked like new when he finished. All this activity took place while my eldery friend was still living in the home. Horia was very considerate of her living in the midst of all this mayhem and did little things to help her manage her way thorugh it all. I can't speak highly enough of the the quality of work done by Horia and his company I C Home Design. He is a true craftsemen who is a finished carpenter and knows how home construction should be done. His background includes new home construction and several cerifications that are important to home renovations. He is always a gentleman and a thoughful person. i you are looking for the extra low prices IC Home Design probably is not your contractor but if you want work that you can be proud of Horia and IC Home Design is a wonderful contractor to chose for your projects.

Their designer came to my house and showed us what we would get although he didn't offer much in the way of options, more of a "this is what you'll get" kind of presentation. Luckily most of what he showed us was in line with our tastes. We decided on what we wanted and signed up then and there. He left saying another guy would come and take all the measurements in a few days. In the meantime I went on the internet to try and research US Remodelers (after I made a deal, but within the cancellation timeframe). I found pages and pages of horrible reviews and warnings. However no reviews of this actual shop. You need to remember that Home Depot has US Remodelers all over the country and they have their own people running them. But I will admit this had me really nervous. I called their office after a week or two to check on the order since they said the material would take a few weeks to come in to their shop. It had arrived the day I called and I scheduled the work. They said it could take 3 or 4 days to do the work and that they would stay every day until the job was done. The carpenter showed up exactly when he was scheduled and was by himself. He seemed very confident and set up shop in my back yard. He was very respectful and protected the whole work area very well, covering all surfaces with cardboard and setting up a plastic sheet to close off the kitchen to the rest of the house. Starting around 9am, he stayed the first day until 6pm. He finished the next day starting around 7am and finishing by 3pm. He beat the schedule by almost 2 days and I honestly have no complaints about his work. Overall I was very happy with how everything worked out. I have read all the horror stories and none of what I found applied to these guys in Rockaway.

The boss was often away from the job site leaving me with unanswered questions. They were going to do one side job for free but asked for payment during the work. When I refused to pay they abandoned the uncompleted work. They also did not show up for two other small jobs that were already paid for. I was never called back when I left voicemails. They also don't furnish you with an itemized bill because they can't justify the inflated prices. Long story short...stay away from this unscrupulous business. I wish I had.
