My experience with this visit left me completely changed in the way I look now at our local DMV. Not quite sure why we had to spend so much money in another building or move, but if that's all it took to ramp up the quality of people working there - money and time well spent. Maybe it's even cheaper to be at this new place, but whatever the reason - a first wise choice for sure. The person I spoke with was kind and professional, but also had that right amount of friendliness that makes your trip memorable for the right reasons. I was taken care of with speed and left feeling like I actually accomplished what I had set out to do. No standing in three different lines, no angry sour faces staring me down - NICE JOB!

They were open, but because of the software update they were only taking people who had put in a reservation. My suggestion is that you should have a red huge button on the front of the website that says make a reservation. And also, you should tell people that they can't update their license by because they need an eye test and a new picture. And finally, if you have a closure, your website shouldn't say that you're open.

The "teller" was helpful, but we were less then impressed when we got here and realized we filled…read moreout the wrong form (at home so we could be prepared!) for our vehicle registration (transferring from another state) AND the wrong form for changing our address (to get a new license reflecting our current address, not just a sticker). The website doesn't clearly specify which forms need to be filled out for which circumstances, if you bought a car out of state and need to renew your registration, but you're actually registering for the first time in NYS. For example the DTF-803 versus the DTF-804 form. The "address change" form, MV-232 found online should suffice for changing your address, but they insist when you get here that you fill out the "Application for Enhanced or Real ID...." form, MV-44EDL, which is the form you fill out if you're getting a NYS license or ID for the very first time. The only correct form we filled out in advance was the Vehicle Registration Title Application, MV-82. It was a Friday morning (11am) and pretty busy. Almost all seats were filled, but the process went pretty quickly. Less then 2 hours. I wish we could make appointments online like other counties and states offer! Overall, it was DEF quicker then a CA DMV!

I worked with Trish behind the counter to renew my license, which required the dreaded new picture, but she was so friendly and made sure I had a picture that I was happy with. She was quick and efficient while remaining patient and kind. While I was there, her manager Diane came out to say hello and to ensure I was having a good experience. The process was easier than I could've imagined. I was prepared to spend all day there. Diane and Trish went above and beyond and I will be going to this specific DMV going forward due to these two alone.

I explained the situation my daughter was facing to the woman at the window after waiting in the "I do not have an appointment" line for 30 minutes. She was sympathetic and gave me a number and I was told to have a seat. We sat for the next hour and a half until her number was called. It seems unreasonable to be upset at having to wait when you don't have an appointment. Life happens. Sometimes people fail to plan properly. Sometimes surprises happen in life and you find yourself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Neither one is a reason to receive special treatment. So if you do receive it be grateful and just grin and bear the wait. The clerks at this location were kind and helpful. This will be the location I go to the next time I need to go to the DMV.
