When in to get my tags renewed. I was in and out of the DMV less than an hour. Great employees!

the person doing the driving testing failed 3 people prior to my son going. so that was 4 in 2…read morehours. The person was obviously just not going to pass anyone at all. What they said he did was not actualilty - when I think of a hard stop I think of slamming on the brakes, not braking gradually in the turn lane which was one of the things he was dinged for. The other 3 people the test person said that they had to actually just turn the people around because whatever they were doing was so offensive. He at least got to finish his test drive. We had a appointment time, we got up to the desk right away to check in but then had to wait 2 HOURS for him to be able to go do this test. People that were after us were taken before him. 2 HOURS when you have an appointment??!!!! if you can avoid going here I would. If you need a drivers test, go get it done at one of the drivers education companies instead where you can save yourself the headache of waiting 2 hours even if you have an appointment and also hopefully will get treated with more fairness on your testing.

Wow! Absolutely incredible service. We had a complicated problem - mostly self-inflicted (becoming…read morecitizen, name change, just moved to CO, wedding certificate not registered...lots of obstacles, most unattended to because we previously misunderstood some instructions). However, everyone we worked with at the DMV was so accommodating, kind way above expectation, and competent. They always knew what we needed, how to get it, and what complications we'd encounter. The manager (assistant manager?) was our hero. We have never worked with a more helpful office - not just a DMV, they are so far above other DMVs, it doesn't feel right to even make that comparison.

My experience here when I went to renew my state ID was horrible. If I could give negative stars, I…read morewould. First of all, they share walls with a laundromat and I'm severely allergic to perfumes, so I'm automatically miserable at this location because the business next door reeks and it seeps into the DMV location. I set up an appointment on July 18th this year so I wouldn't have to sit and wait; spend as little time in the building as possible. I'm writing the review now because I wanted to give them a chance to fix the issues I'm going to mention but they acted as if what happened to me isn't a problem and they did nothing wrong, so they get to have a negative review. Anyway, back to July 18. My spouse and I got there and proceeded to pull up the email with the appointment confirmation code and went to the silly kiosk they make you use now. The kiosk refused to accept our code even though we were on time. By the time we were able to flag down an employee, we were late for the appointment and the employee couldn't make it accept the confirmation code, either. So we had to sit and wait. Thankfully, because every minute I sit in that building is literally a risk to my health, the line was short. When we got to the counter, finally, we informed them that I am transgender and do not use my legal name, please call me Justice. I also asked if it was possible to get Justice put anywhere on my ID in quotes; they said no, which I expected, but I wanted to ask anyway. We were getting my ID renewed so we can start the long, EXPENSIVE, legal process of changing my name. Even after informing them that I am transgender, which is a legally protected class in Colorado, and to please call me Justice, they outright refused to and I got deadnamed no less than 5 times during the time I was in the literal hellhole that is this location. By the time we left, I was in tears, shaking, and having a full panic attack. We emailed and tried calling and leaving a message to file a formal complaint about my experience but no one has ever responded. My spouse went there a few weeks ago and tried talking to someone, who literally said since we got my ID anyway that nothing that happened to me mattered. Basically, he was told to piss off and what they did to me was fine since I got that stupid, ugly piece of plastic out of the deal. If at all possible, avoid going to this place. Renew online, pretend you live somewhere else, ride an elephant to work. Do ANYTHING to avoid going here, especially if you're trans.

It helps that you now need to make an appointment online. When you enter the building you check into the kiosk and are given a number. The building has been newly renovated (since June) and has lots of comfortable chairs, several screens that show when it is your time to be helped. They even announce your number in case you are not facing the screens. There is a privacy glass now which helps with health and safety for the employees and customers. This partition did not take away from connecting with the employee. The employee that helped us (Jamila) was in training. She was personable, friendly and helpful. She made the transaction a very positive experience. There is free street parking and a free parking lot across the street. There was a time when it was hard to find a parking spot, but now with a parking garage with free parking it is easy to find parking.

Justine was efficient, albeit not the most welcoming personality, but given how some people behave at the DMV, I can't say I blame her. We were still out of there in a timely manner with all the information we needed, and that's all I can really ask for.

It was that time - to not only renew my license but also get a new photo…read more By scheduling my appointment a day ahead & confirming what I needed to bring with me (info is on their website) I was sure I was in for a quick visit. They even sent me a reminder text and email confirmation to show the check in employee. Upon arrival to the office I was 4th in line to enter (I got there about 5 minutes before my 4pm time slot). Some of us had appointments others questioned whether one was needed. Mind you there was a large sign just outside the doorway with a scannable QR code to make an appointment. The office was chalk full of people standing in line to speak to clerks and sitting. After checking in I sat down with my assigned number on a little piece of paper. I wish I'd packed a book as I was waiting for over an hour just to speak to the clerk. I must say I expected a lot more from my fellow Boulderites. Everyone I overheard said no to donating their organs and no to donation $1 to support organ donation awareness. When I finally made it up to the clerk I asked to be an organ donor and donate a dollar. They told me they had already gone by the screen to add my dollar donation. Sigh. I had the option to pay via card or cash. After confirming there was a processing fee for paying via card (which I did not hear them tell people about) I paid via cash. Next step was to wait on the other side of the room for my photo. This only took about 5 minutes. When I got up to take my photo they gave me direction on head positioning etc. Which was honestly a bit of a bummer (double chin in full effect in my photo) since I'd studied some online guides for how to get a good pic. At least I was able to show my teeth - unlike in a passport photo. They said my new license should arrive in 7-10 days. They weren't however sure if I could fly with my temporary license and old license with a hole in it. They advised I call my airline. All in all the employees were friendly. And while the wait time is less than ideal the experience is a necessary inconvenience.

I go up to the person at the check in desk and find out that they never even checked me in. Waited over and hour, was waved off and not asked any questions, all for that. Lisa was covering the check in desk, and she ensured id be helped. She immediately got me up to the counter and i was out in 5 minutes. Lisa is amazing and a very kind person. She was so incredibly helpful and we would have waited there for another hour without her. The people working today are the reason DMVs get a bad rap. Kindness is intentional, and the people here chose not to be.
