    Never able to reach a live person. Ever. Never Ever. Extremely frustrating!! They need to hire a few people to answer phones!!

I was able to get in a…read morevirtual line (no proper appointment- walk-in) in a few seconds, when I was about 4 miles away from the DMV (such a system did not exist a year ago). Isn't that incredible?! I saved like 30 mins of my life. I waited comfortably in my car and did not have to suffer outside in the cold or wait in a physical queue. The website updates were realtime and I also got a message when it was my turn. And the DMV representative at the counter was really sweet- he asked me if I'd filled an application online, I hadn't(coz I did not know I had to) so he guided me about where I should go fill it up and head straight back to him(no extra wait). All of that seemed smooth and well managed until then. However, the photo queue was pretty long and it was weird and confusing because it was side-by-side another line, for a different purpose. It took me a while to get a picture done. I am pretty hopeful they'll improve the system here as well. The recent renovations and improvements and are definitely amazing! Overall, I had a good experience except for the one glitch which happened at the back-office probably- The expiration date on my new license is about 8 months before my document expiration(say X)... The DMV representative had mentioned to me in person it would be X (as expected) but it was vaguely my birthday. I'll update my review if they fix this.

My situation was fairly complicated and it took awhile to get it all sorted out. But in end I was quite surprised at how patient and flexible the staff was, and we got everything done. Lines were long even very early in the morning and was able to jump the line a little bit by doing a few things online, and it did take a few hours and going in a circle a bit (no fault of the staff working there). But in the end, all's well that ends well and it ended actually much better than expectations. No complaints.

    I had a divorce with no property to divide or kids to fight over. Just a cat and some bean bags,…read morereally. So I figured I could save money and do it myself. Because me smart. I attended a self-help workshop--- it's great that they offer it--- but they can't really "help" you. I know that's in the name, but still. After a video I was instructed to fill out paperwork on a computer, and I quickly realized that I could be doing the same thing at home. Actually, home would be better, where I'd be able to use my phone, with access to the resources I needed (and didn't know I needed), plus comfy bean bags and a cat, at least for now. I finally used the website they suggested and managed to decipher the forms they gave me and managed to piece together a packet and I successfully filed. That's the easy part. Everything after that was confusing and unclear. Have a question? Nope, nobody will answer a phone. If they do, it's probably an accident, like maybe they knocked the phone off the cradle while cleaning tears off their tables. But if they do answer a phone they will not answer a question. You can go back to that long line, to get into a metal detector line, to get into a sign-up line, to get your name on a clipboard like I did three or four times, but still not get the answers you need. When I did manage to get an answer, they were sometimes contradictory or unclear. I finally filed for default in February 2019 (omg- the clerks are the worst) and my paperwork got rejected three times for the most minor of things, like one document saying "first name last name" and another saying "last name, first name" or for having a blank "__ of __ pages attached". Worse, it was impossible to check the status as I waited. It's like asking a girl at a bar to dance and it takes her two months to say no. Some of the workers are nice, and they obviously intend to "help" people, but I am sharing this with you in order to recommend an actual lawyer or other legal service rather than relying on people who give you forms with little instruction to fill out to give to people who reject the forms with little instruction. It wasn't until November 2019 that I paid some fee to some service and was referred to a lady who ended up fast tracking my divorce for a flat fee, and off the depressing and maddening legal hamster wheel. As of today, February 2020, I am single. If you're interested in a cat-owning divorcee with no property and two bean bags, hit me up. I promise you our divorce will be much easier than this one.

Over the years improvements slowly but surely since 2018 had been my happiest and started my own personal family. Which since 2018 current working to better serve for justice for my family. When in courtroom with judges I do primarily use English to communicate, and at all other times when not in courtroom as well. Updated my direct deposit, but the SS website gave me an option of starting my DD in July or August. I was waiting for my March check, which should come at the end of April. Tried to bypass, but NO, you must pick one. WTF! There was no way to change this any where on the site or by phone. Couldn't wait for 2-4 weeks for an appointment, so into the abyss of a government bureaucracy I proceeded. Showed up at 9AM (opening time), already a line of 15-20 people waiting at the door. Got in line, and after about a half hour was standing in front a kiosk for check-in. Oh of course my issue was not listed, mine Account Suspended. I chose something, and then because I am disabled, I had 2 choices for my disability, which is balance issues, so I push a 4 wheeler, which was NOT a choice. Blind or deaf, hard of hearing. Her Ladyship, reached over and chose the hard of hearing, because I froze a bit. and off we went to sit at one of the 20 plus chairs. From the numbers on the display board, it looked like it would be a very long wait. 20 minutes later I was called, got a very nice man, and in 10 minutes I was out the door. Big Giant YAY. Place has easy parking. This was the Mountain View office.
