My boyfriend has been trying to reach them on a mistake that they made for 2 weeks. Keeps getting a message to call back at a later time. He has left several messages and still no response. His IUD keeps failing and everyone wants to pass the buck and this past time it was because of a program malfunction- it needed an update, but he comes in almost every month to get it serviced and you guys couldn't update it then? Had his car worked on and gave them the proper paper work and still spent a week having to show proof his car was in the shop. The only thing Mandatory is you guys collecting the MONEY, but when it comes time for you to actually do work.... We are going on 2 weeks now and several hours of wasted time trying to get thru and still don't receive a call back. There should be a Standard of Procedure of getting back to Customers in a timely manner and 2 weeks is not it You guys are making people jump thru hoops to get this paper work done and then when it comes time to process it - dragging your feet and playing with people's lively-hood. The DMV is a .... show to begin with. Their MAU takes it to the next level. I've called 5 times and always get a message to call back the next business day due to high call volume. Does the DMV purposely get the most miserable inept employees they can find on purpose? Every DMV office I've been to every employee looks and acts like their souls have been crushed and they are living in dantes inferno. The MAU seems to take only the most useless slow slothlike lazy humans they can find from all the offices the DMV has. There is no recourse for this even if I were to call and complain or write a state rep about it nothing will get done about it. read more

I called mandatory action to request my iid device be removed by the iid company after my 3 year iid term. The same thing happened as in august 2022 when speaking to mandatory action they were missing needed paperwork for my iid device removal and once again found the missing paperwork in a misappropriated spot. I am now now able to remove the device. I did not put the paperwork in the place. The ladies which I spoke with did seem professional and when she said good news I could tell in her voice it was good news. read more

Go to the DMV website, at the bottom click "site map," search "chat." Brings up a bot chat, just type in "agent." There is a wait, but it connects to a live person. They can put you in the call-back que for the MAU. He said it could be a day or two, but they will call you back. read more

I have been trying for weeks to get a call back and I keep getting the same message "You have reached the Mandatory Actions Unit. Due to a high call volume we can not take your call. Please call back on the next business day". IF you can get through you can request a call back through the automated system. Absolutely terrible. I have a medical suspension and called once I received letter. Did the callback feature and they returned call 4 days later. Now 7 months after the suspension and now cleared by doctors I am trying to find out status. Called and was given the call back feature. was due for a recalibration in July, I was in the pro of moving from NorCal to Oregon to finish my degree at OSU. I called the service center nearest me in OR, and they said they service Californians all the time (intoxalock). I did briefly search online to make sure, and I was even able to make them my new service center on my app. well, I went, the work order didn't transfer through and the fine print was that I had to get approval for out-of state recalibration first from MAU. it was 4th of July weekend, even if I drove back 6 hours to California I would be on lockout after waiting for the next business day. I was and currently am screwed because I have since then experienced the madness of calling the MAU, who is basically my lifeline to ever driving my vehicle, and only getting the "callback" due to "high call volume" every single day. I even had callbacks set up on multiple phone numbers,and have yet to speak to a person after three months. my tires have literal spiderwebs and I am paying for the device this entire time read more

It's very difficult to get thru an agent the same day you end up waiting for a call back sometimes it doesn't happen until the next day, they claim they are not the same as DMV so whatever restrictions they place on your license stand wether you go to an office of DMV and they tell you you have no restrictions MAU will override and overturn the decision. They changed how you used to be able to reach them. Everyone there plays stupid on the SB 881 bill passed by the senate. They can no longer suspend your license for not paying their jacked up fines and admin fees. They must reinstate your license. Period. This is not amnesty its THE LAW ! Literal f**king idiots work for the DMV. I AM PISSED. I received a notice for license suspension due to not having car insurance for an accident from 2 years ago. I call the DMV. They tell me to call the Mandatory Actions Unit. Took 4 days to get a call back. The dumb a** on the phone tells me :Oh all you need to do is pay the reissue fee of $55 and you're all set to get your license back!" Fantastic! So I mother f**king thought. I try to pay the reissue fee online. I get denied. I call the phone number listed on the email and receive a call back from a different number, the Mandatory Actions Unit, who then tells me I need to call the Financial Responsibility Unit. OH MY F**KING GOD. So I have the displeasure of talking to the rudest lady ever who had nothing but attitude when I was nothing but polite. Now this lady tells me "Yea he must have not looked at the date. You still have to have your license suspended for a year. You have to go into the DMV to handle this." I f**king hate all of them and they are all garbage. Nice to know our government hires the dumbest people on this planet. Happy to know our taxes go to keeping these morons at their jobs. read more

Complete joke of a department. The DMV field office supervisor gave me the number to this department. The system redirects to a bunch of other numbers, none of whom can transfer your call and most of which are automated or obscure about what they handle. A failure to appear from February of 2018...what about an FTA after 2018??? Pressing "0" hangs up the call. Asking the automated system for a representative loops a message "can't understand your request". There is absolutely NO reason we should be paying taxes to fund a dysfunctional system like this. read more

I recommend recording every phone call you make with them and be sure to get the names of the people that know nothing about the job they took. The call kept getting disconnected as soon as i pressed nine it would say that the call volume was higher than usual. Finally I cam across someone on here that wrote you have to dial 9 twice so i gave it one more try and it worked. Dial 99 when you get to the options menu. And then 1 to get them to call you back at your number. read more

Companies like Amazon, Domino's and Instacart should allow 1st time dui offenders to drive for delivery during the pandemic after they have completed their 3, 6, 9 month course. This is especially true for people that were professional drivers like a chauffeur etc. The law is stereotyping people with decades of a flawless driving record as complete reckless alcoholics when some made a one time mistake. It's even more ridiculous when you consider that the vast majority of DUI s do not occur when the individual is working. Taking away someone's personal driving privileges is just, but taking away someone's ability to work over a personal mistake is not. Until now the system has been able to ignore this injustice, but now with people dropping like flies to sickness and death, they need to restructure the system. This targets 1st time offenders with no criminal or alcoholic background. read more

Call them, dial 9 then 1 to talk to a Technician and check on your license status after a dui. Their answering machine is the most confusing ever hope this helps! If you're super impatient dial 9 four times (wait a little in between each time) then he says "if you want to speak to a dui technician " and dial 1. read more

Gary was an incredible help to me. I had spent all day making phone calls, following up on provided numbers, and in the end getting really no help or sympathy in regards to my situation. That was until Gary called me back. He was professional, very informed, and made sure I was ready before we got off the phone with each other. The worst service ever. DMV made a mistake on my driving record and says I have a point, which I don't. Courts have cleared it up months ago. My insurance won't go down without the point removed and I have yet to talk to someone to help me. Super irritating. read more

My husband and I waited While Mandatory Actions Unit helped 60 callers ahead of us. That is not the reason why I am complaining. A woman named "Wanda " answered the call. My husband speaks Spanish so I thought it would be easier to help with the phone call in English. Wanda was extremely rude and had a large attitude throughout the conversation. When she said she could only speak to my husband, I asked if they had a Spanish speaker. She said very rudely "no!". When I asked to speak to her manager, she said "no you may not". Apparently, my husband was the only one she wanted to talk to you even though he was more than willing to give me authorization to speak on his behalf. It is a shame that we, the taxpayers, pay this employee's check but she feels that it is OK to treat other people with disrespect.
