The selections of the Mini Mart is almost all European grocery and good item.. from Poland, Turkey, Romania just to name a few... There is also a hot food area where you can order something quick and eat in or to take out. There are just a couple of smaller tables but seems to be quite busy with people working in the area to come and get a quick bite. Vienna Schnitzel on a bun ($5.99) - Freshly made by order and it took around 5-10 min for it to be ready (she warned me when I was ordering) - The sandwich is sizable, I ended up sharing that with my coworker - The Schnitzel itself is moist and tender... dare I said a little juicy too... After you order your food, you have a seat at one of their several dining tables (they also have two small tables outside) and they will bring your food to you; you pay at the cash register when you're done. I had the musaka (the woman that took my order said it was like shepherd's pie) which was a large portion. There was minced meat and egg on the bottom layer and sliced potatoes and cheese on the top. It was very filling and I liked the taste, but it was way too oily and the potatoes were overcooked and mushy. My hubby had the cevapi (looked liked breakfast sausages) sandwich. It had 5 pieces (you can order 10) that were grilled to order and tasty. I tried a piece of his sandwich and thought the cevapi would be perfect for breakfast or cooked with pasta. They had cevapi in the refrigerated section so that you could take it home and cook it yourself. The bread used in the sandwich was spongy and greasy, not very appealing. This is the place to go if you want to try different food items from Europe. Not the warmest of staff, maybe it's a cultural thing. At least the younger woman tried to crack a smile by the time we left and wished us a good day.

I came in just before Christmas one day…read moreas I was in the area and really did not like the thought of having to deal with the local grocery store, so I decided to come in and pray that they carried the few items I really needed before the holidays. It's quite a large store and carries a huge selection of goods from all over Europe, so it's cool to be able to find things you won't find elsewhere. On this particular trip, however, I was praying to find very humble items like ... a loaf of bread and a cucumber! I asked the staff at the front whether they carried produce and she said yes, a small selection of items at the back of the store. There is a stand with baskets of different fruits and vegetables, complete with quaint, handwritten signs for prices. I hoped and prayed I'd find what I needed .. it took me 2 rounds to find them but I did. Thank GOD. The quality of the produce seemed to vary quite a bit depending on the item, from nice, large, ripe and colourful citrus fruits, to anemic looking vegetables like the cucumber I needed. I didn't care, they were a decent size and firmness and it'd do. When I moved around the corner to the fish, meats, etc. counters, I found various types of breads lined up and managed to find their version of a "french loaf." Again, not what I'd expect and want to find on an average shopping run, but it'd do. Given that I wasn't really in to experience what the store is meant to offer, it might rate better for what they intend to be the primary experience. On the other hand, bread and produce is pretty basic and while I was satisfied, it was barely so. Would definitely come back in next time I'm around to get the extended experience and sample the goodies at large.

I bought chestnuts from today (November, 17th 2021) at the…read more3737 Major MacKenzie Dr W, Woodbridge location, and in all the chestnuts I have bought from that location today had fungus and I had called that location too let them know they should remove that bulk of chestnut so the next person that decides to purchase those chestnuts don't get food poison and when I repeated to tell him he should check some of the chestnuts so he knows how much fungus it they have inside he dismissed the conversation and said " Sir we cannot check inside the chestnut" and proceeded to say we can do a return but to be honest I don't care about the money, I just don't want the next person who buy the chestnuts to eat them without checking inside the chestnut.

If you saw my review of Wisła, you know that this trip was on Holy Thursday, and just as before this place was PACKED. The lines to order meat (fresh or deli) were long as was the check out line. But we'll get to that. As I walked in, I was immediately struck with the larger assortment of products. I found my beloved Almette spread, and was willing to pay a high price no matter what because it is so difficult to obtain when I'm back at home. As I was scanning the dairy case, I came across Mlekovita's packaged Gołka cheese. For those who want to be accurate, this isn't oscypek, but it was close enough for me. The salty, smoked, "squeaky" cheese is a treat I haven't had in years. I took four packages.. I threw a couple of other items into my basket, and then hopped in line to check out. I didn't get any of the pastry items, but they looked so good, and I'm sure if I was local, I'd be ordering far too often. When I got to the counter, I asked the young girl to get me some krem oliwkowy from the cosmetics shelf behind the register. I was very excited to see the ziaja product in the small green pot. This cream has a scent that evokes a sense of nostalgia for me, but it is so rich and nourishing and it was a favorite of mine that I haven't had in years. I ordered once on amazon for a ridiculous price that I couldn't justify. So to see it here made my day. I checked out speedily - there is something to say for Polish efficiency, and even got a free Wawel chocolate bar. I would definitely say that the staff here are must more friendly than in the other store I visited. It made for a much more pleasant experience. Currently (April 2025), there is a lot of construction going on on Dundas Street, so I highly recommend using the side street at the light to access the back parking area. It is much easier especially if you need make a left turn out onto Dundas.

Makes me regret not getting the apple one too! Then we walked back to the hot food area. To the left were dozens of sausage links hung up behind a deli case full of slice to order cold cuts. A big menu of smoked meats, ribs, cabbage rolls, etc., was in front of us. Then we saw what I can only compare to my childhood memory of Stouffers french bread pizzas. We got one of each - mushroom & cheese and ham & cheese, warmed up. They warmed them for us - the light crispy french bread & both flavors were delicious! We also got a garlicky spinach feta & a pork crepe. These were hefty! Thin crepes with filling & rolled compactly. Both were so yummy! We also got some self-serve bulk pickles that were fantastic. We would have gotten some bags of frozen blueberry or cherry or meat pierogis too, but we had too far to drive to keep them frozen. Everyone we spoke with here was so friendly. They had tons of delicious looking cheeses, meats, jarred spreads & pickles, and other condiments, as well as Polish candies.
