This is a follow up on my last review on this shop. After taking my car back for the second time and it still was not fixed correctly, in fact it was worse, I decided to take the car somewhere else for repair. This is what the mechanic found. Bent hub flange,Hole in cv boot, leaking cv boot( he said it probably had just started leaking ), brake pads soaked in grease, there is more damage that I have not listed but I will update when I get the final paperwork . The repairs will cost me an additional 1500.00 dollars. None of these problems where present before I took the car into do rite auto repair and obviously I would have noticed the noise and the shaking prior to taking it in I mean the car wasn't safe to drive after I picked it up the 2nd. time from do rite. Did they do the damage to the brake pads,hub, and hub flange? Mechanic thinks the wheel bearing that do rite installed originally was installed backwards . I'll let you be the judge. I know I didn't have those problems before I brought the car there. I've contested the 660 dollar bill I was charged by do rite and will contact the AG of washington state to alert the AG of do rites practices and to get a resolution if they do not give my money back. I just stopped in to get a quote to do some exhaust repair a local Nissan dealer quoted me over $2000.00 to replace a manifold and some piping Just in hopes of finding a better price but still wanting the problem solved.Well to my surprise the work was done right then while I waited about 45 min the bill was $80.00 and it sounds like new again. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with an auto repair shop. I scheduled an appointment because an engine light came on my dashboard saying I needed to replace the timing belt and I figured I would get an oil change if I was going to do all this work on my car. I made an appointment for a diagnosis of the issue and get a quote of the work. I drop my car off at 8 in the morning and asked Mark to give me a ride to work down the street and said he wanted to test drive the car anyway so it was perfect. A few hours later I get a quote. They were going to charge me $80 for an oil change and then a total of $1400 for the work. I wasn't convinced so I called some other places and found a dealership that was going to do the work for $1000. So I called Mark to pick up my car saying I didn't want to do any of the work and wanted to pick up my car. I get to the shop and they say my car is almost ready and they are just about done with oil change. I am confused as I didn't authorize any work and specifically said I didn't want anything done. Being frustrated at the situation, I again told him I didn't sign any quote or authorize any work to be done on my car other than the diagnosis. Mark begrudgingly says fine and lets me take my car without paying for the work I didn't authorize. A few weeks later and I get a ticket for running a right light in the mail. Confused, I looked up the date and time and it turns out that on the way back from dropping me off at work, Mark had run a red light with my car and now I have to pay a ticket for it. I called Mark to inform him of what he did and ask him to pay the ticket because he was the one that ran the light. After jogging his memory of who I was he says, "I don't recall running a light, but you refused to pay for the oil change so I guess we are even." I couldn't believe it. The worst professionalism and the dirtiest/cheapest auto shop I have ever seen. Absolutely horrible. So much for "Do Rite." read more

The muffler on my jeep literally fell off on the road (previous owner was a lousy backyard mechanic and the weld failed). This was the closest shop to where I was. They were utterly fantastic. I think they pushed another car out of the bay to get me in, so I could get home from the office. It took maybe an hour to get all the work done, the price was reasonable. They pointed out what my vehicle needed in terms of service without being pushy, even recommended a DIY solution for a couple bucks when they could have easily gotten me to cough up $30 for a part and I don't know how much for labor. They gave me a free estimate on brakes, which is the least expensive I've seen, and based on the quality job they did on the muffler, I am definitely going back. read more

Everything was terrible. I brought our only vehicle in on Monday as agreed upon, but they didn't do the work until Thursday! That was very frustrating, but there's more. The catalytic converter they replaced sounded worse than before we brought it in. Turns out the welding job sucked and they had to weld it some more. To make matters worse, the creaking in the front right wheel is still there so the $400 ball joint we paid for was not even the cause. And they charged us $50 to check the transmission; I thought a professional mechanic could just drive it around the block. Nickle and dimed us, poor welding/muffler experience, and pure guesswork at what the wheel issue could be. read more

I have gone here a 3 times in the past few years and I would go more often but they are just out of my living and working commute route but each time I have gone there, they have done good work. The last time, a "so called" emissions shop said I had to replace another catalytic converter after already having me replace an 02 sensor and another catalytic converter. Discouraged, I drove out of my way and dropped my Explorer off and they called me shortly after and found that the previous shop had switched the O2 sensor wires which was causing my other converter to show a failure. They could have taken me to the cleaners on this one and they were honest and charged me for 1/2 hour labor. read more

So I walked in knowing what I wanted but was recommended something cheaper set up an appointment wait of 2 weeks. I took the cheaper deal supposedly which was done in 2 days... went home used the car 3 to for 5 times and my car went out again... I went back to get the problem solved and instead of prioritizing me said they'd have to work on it in between jobs but if you ask me how is that fair when they already have my money and I did nothing wrong but trust them... so I spoke up for myself and told them it was urgent they prioritize me and so they gave me a due date which was a week long. During this week wait they did not bother to call or inform me of any updates on my car.. come the due date and Dave the manager tells me that the piece has not arrived and that it will arrive the next day. Come the next day they tell me again that the piece was ordered from Miami Florida and will not be in till later it goes on and on till the end of the week when I've had it and scold him that I don't know what games their playing at but I've been patient enough and he tells me that he doesn't need any grief from me for him giving me a deal and if I make him mad he'll call the deal off and I can fix it myself... keep in mind that whole week I waited patiently trusting him when he told me it would be done on that week wait that he did not call me for nothing and that he did not work on my car at all inconveniencing me and when I finally called he told me the part was not in yet which I looked up the part and it says it's only a 30 minute to hr job with the right tools and that you can get them at any Napa or auto shop place... being mechanics you'd think they have connections yet he ordered a simple piece from Miami Florida so what do you guys think they were doing? Most likely punishing me for speaking up of my rights and trying to inconvenience me on purpose. All I wanted was springs instead of air bag suspensions on my GMC Denali envoy. They recommended new air bags and in the end they ended up putting in springs for me because of the first failed job which was not my fault. Our job as customers are to go in ask for a job and pay if they fail to fix the problem that is on them no one else so ofcourse they're going to get grief especially when they try to push me aside at their own convenience when they already have my money and to top it off saying don't make me mad or I'll call the deal off... what deal exactly? Fixing a mistake of theirs!!! So to all customers who use this trash place which I won't ever use again I recommend you guys and gals to do some research before you guys get swindled and supposedly are getting a deal!!! Trust me Dave is a smart one with a very charming personality and big smile on his face as well as likeable but don't confuse business with pleasure and be smart so do your research. I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero and it was misfiring. so I took it to Do Rite. They fixed the problem and were very reasonable on the repair price, and they were able to fix it in 1 day and Dave the owner even came to pick me up to get my Vehicle at the end of the day. A couple of weeks ago, my starter went out on my '02 Camry. Do Rite was the nearest repair shop so I gave them a call and spoke with Dave. He gave me a quote over the phone and said if I could get it there in an hour, he could have the repair done that day. This was after lunch on a Friday and I was surprised (and happy!) that they would be able to have "same day service" this late in the day. True to form, the tow truck took longer than an hour but finally arrived and got my car to Do Rite. They tested the starter and battery right away and found the starter indeed was a goner. After all was said and done, I was EXTREMELY happy: same day service, knowledgeable and friendly staff...however, the quote I was given was wrong. They did the work for LESS. My 03' Monte Carlo started having a really hard time accelerating and going up hills. After I had just replaced my fuel pump I figured that wouldn't have been the issue, leading me to believe my catalytic converter was clogged. I then called up Do Rite Auto Repair and brought my car down early in the morning the next day before the opened. I received a call shortly after they opened from the guys at the shop just wanting to keep me updated on: how they would test to see if the catalytic converter needed to be replaced, what they found after the test, and approx. how much it would cost to perform the work. They were able to get everything done in the afternoon before I got off from work and the total they charged me was even less than what they originally quoted! Everyone at the shop was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, I will definitely bring my car down to them whenever I need work done. I highly recommend them to anyone especially if your like me and have a hard time trusting some shops. read more
