Avoid This Shop Unless You Enjoy Wasting Money and Time If I could give zero stars, I would. More than two years ago, I brought my car in for a simple front brake pad and rotor replacement, and now--after THREE visits to (supposedly) replace the offending cheap brake pads they originally installed--the issue of the ongoing, excessive black brake dust covering my front wheels still hasn't been resolved. Each time, I was assured the problem was taken care of--and each time, I left with the exact same mess. At this point, I'm seriously wondering if this shop ever actually replaced the brake pads after the first time, since there's never been any evidence that they did. Rommel is full of promises but short on results. He either doesn't know what he's doing or simply doesn't care--and I'm honestly not sure which is worse. When he had the audacity to ask me to bring my car in a FOURTH TIME (seriously?), I instead asked him for a refund of the $604 I had initially paid him. He refused, claiming, "That wouldn't be fair." I'D LOVE TO KNOW WHAT'S FAIR ABOUT A 74-YEAR-OLD WOMAN HAVING TO CLEAN SOLID BLACK BRAKE DUST OFF HER FRONT WHEELS (WEEKLY!) FOR 2.5 YEARS--ALL THANKS TO THE CHEAP BRAKE PADS ROMMEL USED, WHICH HE (quite laughably) PROMISED ME WERE "BETTER THAN ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT." My recent plan was to take this unethical "businessman" (I use that term lightly) to Small Claims Court, but I realized that (Rommel being Rommel) the likelihood of him showing up was pretty much nil. And even if I won the judgment--as I surely would--I would most likely never see a dime of that money again. If you're looking for competent, honest auto service, keep driving. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a business. They are dishonest shady and could be criminals. I took my 1999 Jaguar XK8 Convertible to them to have a starter looked at and possibly changed out also wanted them to just do a general inspection to see what else might be concerning being I just purchased the car. I figured it would take a week at most 5 days. Well that didn't happen. One week went by and in to the second week I drove by and saw the car parked outside and it was raining hard and the gate was open. This is at 10 o'clock at night. so we called again and asked them what was up with the car and their reply was they were waiting on a technician. I thought that was weird. Then onto wk 3 and the shop was in the process of moving so I understand that would delay any work but 3 going on 4 weeks for a starter. Then they called and said the battery was bad well that's BS because I had taken it out of my boat and it was practically new. But I took them a replacement anyway. During this time the car had disappeared I looked in the shop behind the shop and at their new shop and I couldn't see it but I didn't say anything because I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. Then week 5 and we decided enough is enough and asked them for our car back. their response was "you are going to need a tow truck. My wife said what are you talking about? we brought the car to you running and you were suppose to fix it. She told them we brought the car to you running and running great and that is how you are going to give it back to us. Well they gave it back to us running but it had been trashed. The transition is broken and not shifting right. The engine had been abused to the point of running it with little to no coolant and the LAST THING THAT BLOW MY MIND WAS THEY PUT OVER 2600 MILES ON THE CAR. THAT IS CORRECT TWO THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED MILES ON THE CAR FROM THE TIME WE DROPPED IT OFF TILL THE TIME WE PICKED IT UP. That is driving the car to southern California and back with a stop in Vagus. I am soo pist off I can't believe it. But I checked and double checked everything. These guys are ridiculous they will not answer the simple question. But I do have to give them some credit they knew the police would do nothing, They also knew that most people would not care about the consumer even my insurance company is probably going to deny my claim. They all said ohh we apologize for what those guys did to your car but there is nothing we can do. LOL what a bunch of BS. now the owner of the shop Raul is placing the blame on my wife because he said she was creating a ruckus at my shop because she was upset. Well folks what would you do if some ass hole you put you trust in put over 2600 miles on your sports car and totaled it?? This is not bull shit because my next step is taking this POS to small claims court. In the meantime I have made it my mission to post this experience and request every one who reads this to copy and paste it to another website or review site or any site they come across. Please do this out of vengeance for the poor consumer but also to put the word out there so someone else doesn't go through the B's that East Hill Auto has put me through. Had a really good experience here. My wife's SUV needed service. We called ahead and were given a day when we could bring it in (just a few days out). We arrived in the morning, checkin was fast, friendly and efficient. The called later in the day to let us know when the work had been completed. They had tested and confirmed the problem and then went ahead with the replacement.. Pick up at the end of the day was just as easy. We got a quick summary of the testing and work completed. The estimate that had been provided was spot on, no surprises, just solid work. Counter service was knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, very good experience. Well recommended! Don't go there under any circumstances! They will break your car. They are not even able to do an oil change correctly. Put my oil plug in too tightly so they can get me to go back them for the next one. They refuse to loosen it so it can change the oil myself. Any idiot knows that you don't put the oil plug on too tight it can strip when trying to remove it. It's obvious they don't have any respect or decency or stand by their work. read more

BE AWARE!! Please guys, do you yourself a favor and thank me later and Do Not take you car to this place! This guys are extremely unprofessional, always will give you the feeling that you're wasting their time. They will cause more damage to your car and will never take responsibility on anything. I brought my car last month for a spark plugs replacement and emission check before I take it to the test, when I picked up the car I started to feel a different driving and the car was shaking like a Diesel engine! I brought it back to him and started to tell me that one of my coils are bad and that the reason for the shaking (which I never had before!). Romel the owner that in my opinion never touch any car and he is just seating on the computer (seems like weird to me if you own a shop lol) kept telling me that it is not his responsibility and I can take the car to the dealership if I think different. Rude. I took the car to a different shop that I found recommended online and they did a full inspection on my car and found that he used the cheapest spark plugs in the market instead of use original parts that this is my car (German) demands. They also found a missing screws everywhere around the engine cover and couple zip ties that holding wires away from the hot areas that they've cut and never put new ones. When I called Romel to tell him all of that he was avoiding me with the stupidest excuses of a child instead of taking responsibility. This guy is a joke and I'll put this review everywhere I can + in the mechanics board of Washington state. I wish this place will get an inspection from some department and will see what me and more people here saying. read more

Five stars all the way for this shop. I've been going to a certified BMW mechanic loyally for the passed 7 years. I'm not a mechanic, but I always noticed my car didn't drive any better after service there. In fact my car seemed to be really having some problems that my Auburn mechanic told me was no big deal. I was getting concerned. My friend recommended East Hill Auto. Rommel ran diagnostics and got back to me quickly with a report that was complete with pictures and a plan to resolve the issues. I really felt he was giving me all the info I needed to make an informed choice. He never pressured me into add-on sales. I really appreciated the straight forward way he answered all of my questions. Great communication and customer service! He called me when the car was ready (as he promised) and spent time going over the repair. The proof is in the driving - I noticed immediately how much better my car handles and responds .. it even sounds better. Definitely going back for next service. Would recommend this shop. We've brought both of our cars here and they are both dead now. Most recently, we brought our only remaining running car in for an oil change and a check engine light scan. My husband went to pick it up and he was unable to leave the parking lot because it kept dying. I don't know much about cars, but when we bring our running car in for an oil change, I expect that we will be able to drive it away from your shop. We are left with no running cars and we have to take the bus everywhere and we are out thousands of dollars thanks to this shop. I do not recommend it whatsoever and when we get a new car we will not be bringing it back to East Hill. read more

Came in again giving them another chance with a repair estimate. I wanted a 60k service done and had the parts. The person working their (I believe the owner) proceeded to tell me the parts I bought were not for the 60k service and that the services I asked for are not included in a 60k. It's funny he can say that even after I showed him what a 60K service entails from a Toyota dealership and a Lexus dealership. I do have good knowledge to perform automotive repairs and maintenance but did not have the time to complete services myself. I can say confidently, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about half the time and really doesn't know about competitive pricing. read more

Called to get a diagnostic quote. The front desk employee told me $108 for diagnostic AND if after receiving diagnostic we had East Hill Auto Service; service the car, the diagnostic fee would be waived and put toward the service. Rommel contacted me when I was at work and said he, "couldn't finish the diagnostic because the distributor cap and rotor were eroded." I promptly picked up my vehicle, paid the full diagnostic fee even though they did not complete the full diagnostic, and replaced said parts. I returned to the shop to get the full diagnostic after replacing the parts and Rommel refused to check the rest of my car and complete the diagnostic. Thus, I asked for a refund of half of my money since they did not complete the diagnostic and he yelled at me calling me, "a cheap bastard." read more

Came in for a catalytic converter replacement. Rommel charged me $1200 so I came to pick it up with cash because I'm saving money for not using a credit card. I came to pick it up. I got there he said I still need to fix the o2 sensor.on top of the cost. I said ok! Then Rommel says "bring it back I will order the part and only charge you $80 for the part and no labor." Ok..... so does it have power now? Rommel says yes! Ok! I'm thinking he's going to order the part! When I came back he'll hook it up on his word. I come back 2 weeks later. He scheduled me in. So now I talk to him and he tells me he can't do it for $80. He charges me $300 plus labor. He says "can't do it for $80 because he has to order the part now and just the o2 sensor costs $180. This is what I don't get?! He said he would have the part already ordered when I bring it back but he didn't! I said I'm also a mechanic you can't help me!! I just don't have time or the tools right now to do it! He said "no bro I can't do it!" Well now I'm sorry! Because I now have to warn everyone about how you think and treat your customers! Customers should always be right! I asked for help! He couldn't not . So now I'm sorry! I have to give them a poor review! I have to say they are not organized, not clean, not sanitary, and rude! Verified "Safety always in mind" The East Hill Auto team always has my safety in mind when servicing my vehicles. In this case when working on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler, they noticed that there was some issue with how the Jeep drove and found that there was a U-joint issue with the right front wheel. They even sent me a picture to show me what the issue was. When I picked up the Jeep I was able to instantly tell the difference in how the Jeep handled. read more

I brought in my old El Camino to get the exhaust system done. They pored over it like ants on honey. The owner and one of his employees said they wanted to keep it overnight to hand bend the exhaust pipes. They gave me a beautiful exhaust system, hand made, and it's gorgeous! Even down ot the chrome tips. They also did an inspection and told me how I could fix some of the issues myself. That's as good as it gets. Great little shop. read more

I made an appointment to get my intake manifold replaced because it was cracked and I had dropped my car there and picked it up the next day and so when I went to go pick up my car i didint notice anything at first but I drove straight home keep in mind I live 5 minutes away and so since this whole virus pandemic thing has been going on I didint drive the car elsewhere just went straight home after it was replaced I was home didint go out or anything 2 days later I decided to stop by the grocery store from being stuck at home all week and when I turned the car on I noticed a hissing sound and when I went to check my engine I saw that the INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS STILL CRACKED!!! They were very competent and explained everything thoroughly for me. The team there really seems to enjoy each other and work well together. the environment is laid back and comfortable, you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. This is as good as it gets when it comes to great service and great deals. As a woman I never feel comfortable getting estimates on my vehicles fearing that my lack of expertise in that field would ultimately have me paying for it in the end literally. That's why I always go directly to the dealership hoping they'd give me the rundown on what I really need done. I am skeptical of that as well but hey, you have to get it done. The problem being that the dealership always gives me quotes that cost an arm and a leg! I used to live near East Hill Auto which is why I even thought to give it a chance. Of the 4 times I've taken my vehicle there in the last couple of years they've given me prices that are sometimes more than half the costs of the dealership. All the work that I've had done on my vehicles during that time have never required rework. The staff is very respectful and know that's its all about the customer. As long as they continue to stay in business, they will have my business! The horrible review that was posted earlier had me in stitches over the guy talking about how they didn't honor his coupon for the oil change since it said $29.99. Seems like he would have complained if they charged him that price with taxes LOL. I'm just saying that as long as I've been taking my vehicles for oil changes whether they be new or a few years old, I know I won't just be paying the coupon price. But to each its own. Friendly and semi-honest shop to do business with. I say semi honest because no shop is entirely honest... If they actually told you how much the parts cost to fix your vehicle you may be tempted to do the work yourself. However on that last statement you have to consider that this shop gives a 2 year warranty on all work they do. After having them instal an ignition, new struts, and tie-rods on my car I was very pleased with the work done. My car broke down about 2 weeks after words because of a different shops mistakes that I had a remote start/alarm installed in my car. Rommel personally took the time to drive to my apartment to help. I tow strapped my car to him and he verified that it was the starter which I believe was caused by the remote starter not having the proper anti-grind feature working/installed. I had Rommel and his team fix the problem. They had me back up and running in no time. Very helpful, fast, respectful, and responsible team at this shop. I cannot say The prices are the best but this shop does do the work right and they stand behind it. read more
