I love Do-Rite Donuts! All the workers here are so friendly and welcoming. They serve local coffee (dark matter!) and have such a good variety of donut flavors. I had the coconut dream donut. I love coconut and the filling inside was creamy without being too sweet. Also, we happened to be sitting next to a couple of workers who ended up telling us the background of the guy who created Do-Rite! And she gave us a free apple fritter after telling us the apples are from a local farm in Michigan (shout out to Jen!!). It was so sweet and hearing about all the work that went into creating this restaurant made me love it that much more. I will definitely be stopping in more now! :) read more

ARE YOU KIDDING ME WOTH THESE DONUTS!!! Seriously though, the pistachio meyer lemon was the best donut I have ever had, prior to this my favorite donut was 10 years ago. We got a standard cake with chocolate frosting, a classic which they did very well. There was the perfect ratio of donut to frosting and the chocolate frosting was nice and rich. The pistachio lemon was perfectly balanced of tart, sweet, and just a touch salty with the pistachios on top to truly make it the perfect bite. Okay, so the donut was a little over $3, but honestly I would pay more for it, it was that good. We also tried the vegan baked olive oil orange which was a little tougher in texture, but the orange flavor was pure and natural. The staff was friendly and quick. Amongst the chaos that is the coronavirus, checked out Do-Rites for some takeout chicken tenders. Wow they were wonderful! Really enjoyed the crispy light batter and juicy chicken tenders. And that BBQ sauce was excellent. It's tangy and spicy which went well with the chicken and fries. Enjoyed the standard cole slaw and I'm sure the fries would have been good right out of the fryer but after a long walk they were wimpy. That is on me though. The online ordering was easy and pick up was even easier. I will definitely come back for the chicken sandwich soon. Would have been five stars if I didn't feel like I wasted and paid for the Texas toast that I didn't want plus they gave me root beer instead of coke. I've tried the buttermilk old fashioned, cinnamon sugar crunch, and the regular cinnamon sugar. I've had donuts all over America. From Washington DC to Seattle, Los Angeles to Chicago. These are some of the best I've ever had. Their exceptional. Fresh, perfectly doughy and fatty. The tenders Batter was flavorful, which isn't always the case. The chicken was also juicy and not greasy at all. I like to try vegan items for fun and compare to non vegan originals. So fresh and so reinforced in my mind why Do-Rite is my #1 donut shop! I was elated to see this new location outside Wrigley. Who doesn't love shelling out more for half a dozen donuts and an iced Nutella latte (~$24) than what you paid for parking (thanks Spot Hero!) to go to a Cubs game? I had never had an apple fritter here, and it was one of the best donuts I've ever inhaled in my life, and that's coming from someone who isn't crazy about fruity desserts. It has generous chunks of apple, crisp dough, and enough sugar to probably make me pre-diabetic, but it was balanced and not too sweet in my opinion. The French cruller was fresh, doughy, and light. I ranked them as follows: Birthday cake Chocolate iced Cinnamon sugar The texture is good, they taste like a solid cake donut to me. Nice and moist, not dry inside at all. My only issue is the ratio of icing/donut. I wish these were glazed and iced to be honest. These donuts are LARGE. Easily like 2.5 dunkin donuts put together. So only a shmear of icing on top doesn't quite feel enough since the dough itself is not at all sweet of flavored much. The staff was friendly enough and the donut wall was hard to pass up, but when I was handed by bag I knew I made the right decision. The sandwich itself was a decent size and not what I expected. There are a few chain donut spots in the city with gluten-free donuts - Stan's, Firecakes and Do-Rite. After a few times at each, I think I've got to hand the crown to Do-Rite. Their cinnamon sugar donut is so light and fluffy that I was actually in disbelief when I took my first bite. My partner, who is not gluten-intolerant, checked the receipt to make sure we actually ordered a gluten-free donut. That's how amazing it was. Gluten-free donuts are usually pretty dense and cakey (I'm looking at you, Stan's). That's not always a problem of course. Sometimes that's the mood I'm in! But when that's the standard it's so exciting to have such a fluffy donut. That's why Do-Rite is #1 in my book. I've also had the birthday cake gluten-free donut which is a bit more cakey but still fluffy and delicious. I've still go to try their chocolate-glazed at some point! I do wish they attempted some new/rotating flavors. I have to say that I love Stan's pistachio and blueberry gluten-frees for the flavor. If I've gotta choose, though, variety or flavor or texture... I'm gonna choose texture. As for the gluten-filled treats, my partner got the CBR sandwich and absolutely loved it. Her only comment was that the spicy chicken wasn't actually spicy. Even with that she was still in heaven eating that thing. She also tried the old fashioned chocolate glazed donut and the lemon pistachio. If you're a lemon fan, this one is definitely for you. Came here right before the Cubs game, and this review is just of a couple of their donuts. We heard great things about this place and figured we would try a couple of their donuts. We grabbed the blueberry crumb and the raspberry bullseye. The blueberry crumbcake definitely tasted like crumb cake and was super soft. But there was also something very artificial about the flavor of the blueberry or something in the donut. Couldn't quite put a finger on it. The raspberry bullseye was probably my favorite of the two. It's the fluffier donut, with a large dab of raspberry jam on top. I would have appreciated if the jam was actually incorporated inside the donut like the blueberry crumbcake had. The jam actually tasted really good. Overall, I would say an average specialty donut. For $2.95 a donut I'm not sure it was quite worth it. Maybe next time I'll try their fried chicken sandwich that seems to be advertised quite a bit? Staff members didn't not wear masks.
