Best bagel sandwich I've had in Chicago, and the matcha drink I got was amazing too. We ordered on a busy Saturday morning, but they still prepped our order really quickly. In any case, when I got there at 4:15pm today, they were closed. The hours on their window says that they open at 7am, but they've erased their closing hours. Including a photo jumpscare, even though it is isn't an entirely fair representation of my review - these bagels had flavor to the max. I could taste every little thing that makes up every-thing bagels. something about this spots seasonings on both the everything bagel and the OMG (onion, mustard, garlic) were phenomenal - our OMG bagel had giardiniera cream cheese which provided a little kick with the vinegary pickled taste. the portion of cream cheese was not impressive but the flavor was different than any other cream cheese ive tried - the pastrami egg and cheese on an everything bagel was a looker. thick warm eggs in that square shape that reminds me of McDonalds (in the best way) and melted American cheese. wish you could sub cream cheese for the same price considering they give you a tablespoon. the pastrami was absolutely delectable, moist, rich... for all 3 bites of it. one slice on the whole bagel. - the bagels had that delicious outer crunch we know we need on a bagel but lacked the chew as it was flatter than it should be.... hence that second photo... - really spacious area with plenty of seats. they even offer booze! read more

This bagel shop is located on the first floor of the Zachary Hotel in Wrigleyville right across the street from the baseball stadium. We decided to have breakfast here while staying at the hotel. It was a good decision. They have about seven different bagels, seven different smears, and ten different bagel sandwiches. I opted for the sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on rye bread. It was very plentiful and tasted great. My husband had an open faced bagel with lox, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, egg and cucumber. He loved his as well. The front windows are open like a garage door so you get plenty of air as well as a great view of Wrigley Field. read more

If you're staying at the Zachary hotel, or if you're grabbing a quick bite before a game at Wrigley, this is a terrific option. Plenty of bagel sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, and creatively prepared coffee & healthy drinks. The service is very efficient, and the location has a nice flow to it with an open air window out front. It's got its own entrance directly from the hotel as well. While the experience is wonderful, the pricing is a bit high-end I had an open-faced breakfast sandwich and an iced tea which was about $20. Their POS system prompts you for a tip, before you even know what the service is going to be (I picked up the food from the counter, and I cleared my own dishes afterwards). That added another few dollars on top of what was already a high priced breakfast. Overall, excellent food and service, nice vibe... Just know that you'll pay up for it a bit. read more

I love Jewish food I'm Jewish that's what I grew up with. Very disappointed with my experience here. Spent 62 for 3 drinks two sandwiches and a cookie. Meat was practically non existent on either samdwhich. They were out of soup and most of their bagels. I'm so happy Steingold's opened a location in this area of Lakeview! I frequent the Southport location but this spot is even closer to my apartment, so the easier access is appreciated. My first visit was during a Cubs game. I anticipated a busy shop with a minimal bagel selection due to the craziness happening across the street at Wrigley Field. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the service was fast and the bagel selection was still very full. The cashier was very helpful when making my selection. My favorite bagels are the OMG and Cinnamon Maple Sugar. I do want to try a Bagel Dog before I head to my next Cubs game. The inside is tidy and I like the decor. While it is a smaller location than the Southport one, there is a decent amount of seating. read more

Some of the best Northside bagels , IMHO, has just opened their new location in Wrigleyville! Conveniently located across from Wrigley Field right next to McD's. I'm excited as a public transportation user since their other location is a bit of a walk from the closest station. But now you can enjoy their great products and service a hope skip and jump away from the Addison red line station. I was extremely disappointed in my first trip to Steingold's. I ordered their Open-Faced Corned Red Beet sandwich and got a full size. Rather than being two 1/2s of an open faced sandwich, it was a closed bagel sandwich. I felt like I was jipped a bit, as I'd paid double but did not get the amount of ingredients that would be in two open-faced sandwiches. That being said, even what I got was pretty lackluster. Their braised greens were a couple pieces of lettuce, and I got maybe 4-5 slices of beets. Not enough to taste them, and nothing like the advertised photos. To top it off, they also forgot my side pickle. I should've realized before leaving. But to pay $16+ for this was really disappointing. I know they're new, but the restaurant has been up and running in Southport for a bit, so I would've expected them to at least know their menu (the employee making it seemed pretty confused on what they were doing). Everyone inside was friendly, but need to be better trained to serve their customers. It's unfortunate. Flavor-wise, it was an okay tasting bagel. It wasn't heated / toasted, which would've made it better. The horseradish hummus was good and different. Very spicy, kind of overpowered everything (also since there wasn't much on the bagel itself). I was really looking forward to a great new bagel shop. Absolutely terrible. We've gone to the Southport location for years. We buy their bagels and have CATERED for any work event/jewish holiday. Unfortunately, the Clark location is terrible. Once staff was rude; I wouldn't say they have ever been nice. Today was 20-25 minutes for 2 bagels uncut, untoasted, no cream cheese ordered when they opened at 7am. I gave them 15 min thinking there was no way two bagels in a bag could honestly take 20 min on a TUESDAY. Mind you there were ZERO people the entire time. I asked if she could just put two bagels in a bag for me considering I was there and no one else was. She proceeded to tell me that they weren't ready. Completely baffled, I asked if they were still baking? No my order just wasn't up despite the fact that I was there. She said she was alone despite two other staff in clear view. I asked again and got some other response at which point I just asked her to refund me; she turned around, put two bagels in a bag and handed them to me. I really just wanted a refund at that point, but I wasn't going to argue. Their bagels are all over the city, and for good reason. They're better than New York, but I think I will avoid buying anything from Steingolds going forward. read more

I ordered a turkey sandwich on challah. I was surprised that as I was ordering (online) everything was an add-on, including mustard and mayo. Then after picking up my sandwich I could have just grabbed packets when I got napkins. The turkey was not what I was expecting from Steingolds. The pieces of turkey were small and dry. Seemed to me that they used the splinters that fall off when slicing the turkey. Not at all what I expected for $17.50. Next time I will stick to the traditional bagel and lox. I ordered a breakfast bagel and coffee to be delivered since there's a Steingolds attached to the hotel where I'm staying. It was taking a bit too long and it was only then that I realized that I gave them the wrong hotel room number. I went to the incorrect room number I gave them, and sure enough it was gone--looks like I bought someone breakfast. I called down and explained the situation fully prepared to pay again since the mistake was mine. They graciously made my order again and delivered it free of charge. AND IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!
