    Option 3 Pho

Top tier pho, you feel the density of the broth, it's not watery, with rich flavor holding all the ingredients together, pairing beautifully with the soft thin brisket. Touches of mint and bean sprouts, and if you add the homemade spicy sauce it goes beyond. They are busy, so sometimes the service might feel rushed but don't worry they are still caring. The place looked clean and I loved seeing the selected paintings and photography on the walls.

Cozy and quaint spot. I ordered the eye round beef and brisket pho (beef on the side) -- it was okay but lacked a bit of depth and flavor. This is a small bowl which I felt was on the pricier end. I also got the shrimp and pork summer rolls; they were smaller than I'm used to, but very fresh and tasty. I love that give you a peanut sauce container accompanied with the spring rolls. Overall, decent pho spot everyone was friendly and great service.

We recently went back to Doan and were quite surprised. We have always thought that this is a solid restaurant. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is casual, and they keep a very clean environment. The surprise, and I am not sure how they did it, but believe it or not the food was even better than we had previously. Honestly it was some of the best Vietnamese we have had, period.

Looking for authentic pho in Charlotte? No need to search anymore. This is as legit as you're going to get. Super low key setting with super friendly service, but the setting you want for this kind of food. Flavors were great but have to admit it was missing just the next level flavor to bump to 5 stars. Still very delicious!

Ive been here a handful of times. The service and staff met expectations. I noticed that the atmosphere inside was quiet despite being there at 2:30p on a Saturday afternoon. As always the food is always fresh, full of flavor, and filling. I ordered shrimp summer rolls, which are brought out with peanut sauce. In addition to a regular size shrimp pho, this includes a separate plate of garnishments to customize your meal. The pho was so good I forget to take a before pic.

Came here to get pho but also ended up getting pad thai too. Came here two days in a row. The service and ambience is amazing too! Definitely one of the best Vietnamese cuisine in Charlotte

I had the great pleasure to dine at Doan's during a recent visit to Charlotte. Our friends dine her often and told me it was amazing, however as I have styled myself as a pho connoisseur I was skeptical. Luckily my skepticism was solidly, completely, entirely unfounded. The menu is extensive and has an entire vegetarian section which includes dishes such as spicy lemongrass tofu (delicious) and vegetable rice noodle soup (VERY YES). We tried both, and I was truly flabbergasted by the soup. The broth is incredibly complex and flavorful, and the addition of cauliflower to the typical veggies was a welcome surprise. The serving size of the soup is generous; those of us who ordered it were able to finish our bowls and were very satisfied. The inside is cozy, the servers are efficient and patient, and the pricing is quite reasonable for the quality and quantity. Doan's - if you're ever looking to open up a second location, I hear Louisville is a good place to be.

Doan's Vietnamese Cuisine is a great little Vietnamese restaurant in south Charlotte. We are quite fortunate to have four very good Vietnamese restaurants on South Boulevard. They are Doan's, Vietnam Grille, Saigon Palace and Crispy Bahn Mi. All of them are great! In the old days, I had to trek out to Central Avenue or Shamrock Drive to get excellent Vietnamese food. Now it's in my backyard! Doan's does a very good representation of Vietnamese cuisine. Their summer rolls are always fresh. Their spring rolls are always crunchy and not greasy. The vermicelli bowls (Bun) are served warm with lots of fresh herbs. The Pho is always great as well. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. If you want to experience Vietnamese cuisine then you won't go wrong visiting here.

We stumbled upon Doan's accidentally. It's tucked away in a strip mall - but trust me you don't want to miss this one! The place has plenty of seating and is very clean. It smelled great and we were not disappointed in the pho. I'm used to larger sizes at most Vietnamese restaurants, however they didn't skimp on the meat, noodles or veggies and we left full. The broth was divine and we can't wait to be back.

Has a 90s Asian resto vibe inside. The summer rolls are fresh and go so well with the peanut sauce. I really enjoyed the Grilled House Special. The sweet grilled pork really complimented the rice, egg, and pickled vegies. If you're Filipino like me, you know what I'm about. Pho had a light flavorful broth with good cuts of meat. Delicious! Let's continue supporting small local businesses instead of putting them down just because of their ambiance.

If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food/pho, this is the place for you! I have been searching for a place like this in Charlotte for a long time! Their broth is phenomenal - both depth and flavor. The meat is surprisingly tender and delicious. Portion sizes are good. Service is usually quick, with the exception of my last visit. I have been disappointed by many places in Charlotte for pho, but this place does it right. Best pho in Charlotte! Highly recommend!

The restaurant has an eclectic, mismatched décor that felt more cluttered than charming. Combined with the sticky menus and food scattered across the floor, the space had an overall dirty feel. The pho was served with lemon wedges instead of lime. When I asked for lime, the server looked at me without saying anything and walked away. She eventually returned with lime wedges, so I assume she heard my request. The pho itself was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. Service felt rushed, and the staff seemed too busy to be attentive. It gave the impression that stopping by our table was an inconvenience rather than part of the dining experience. Given the restaurant's strong reputation and glowing reviews, I expected a much better overall experience.

Summer rolls, quail, noodle dishes, pho, and of course the beef and broccoli that I am constantly telling people to order. Once again, it delivered. Tender beef, great flavor, huge portion, and everybody at the table immediately understood why I keep talking about it. This is the kind of restaurant that works best when you order a bunch of dishes and let everyone try a little of everything tapas-style. The portions are generous and very shareable. The staff here is also genuinely helpful. They made recommendations for our table, checked in often, and kept everything moving smoothly even with a larger group. Another underrated bonus is the parking. They have their own lot, which in Charlotte honestly deserves appreciation all by itself. Easy access too, especially if you are coming from the freeway or busy parts of town. If you love Vietnamese food, this place is absolutely worth adding to your regular rotation. Great pho, great noodle dishes, friendly service, and consistently delicious food. Life is too short to not eat well. Get out there and eat your way through Charlotte.

The inside was larger than I thought as there is also seating in this kind of hidden back room. The lighting, for dinner time at least, was really moody and warm which offered an intimate but modern atmosphere. The service was friendly and quick! Our water was constantly refilled. My friends and I did family style and got the Dry-Fried String Beans, Coconut Shrimp, Ube Cheesecake, Mango Sticky Rice, Thai Chicken Wings, Takoyaki, Crab Rangoon Roll, Szechuan Spicy Wontons, and Basil Popcorn Chicken. I heard that the appetizers are better than the entrees here and that was so true. All of the appetizers were delicious! The Thai Chicken Wings were had this nice crunch despite being coated in this Thai sweet chili sauce. The Crab Rangoon Rolls tasted different than usual crab rangoons, possibly because the filling tasted more like stringy crab meat rather than chunks? Still really tasty especially when paired with the yum yum sauce. I loved the Basil Popcorn Chicken, especially when dipped in the yum yum sauce. You can really taste the five-spice powder. The pieces were a bit large for popcorn chicken, but I did not mind. I was shocked (in a good way) by the Szechuan Spicy Wontons. Extremely flavorful, especially when dipped in the sauce. As for the entrees (which all came with a bowl of rice), the Coconut Shrimp was weird. The batter was extremely thick and hard to bite into, which was unfortunate as the shrimp and coconut sauce itself were delicious. I did enjoy the Dry-Fried String Beans, though. It was in this nice garlicky sauce, plus the beans were sautéed very nicely. I thought that the deserts were okay. The Ube Cheesecake needed more cheesecake and the Mango Sticky Rice needed to be a bit sweeter for my preference. All in all, this is a solid restaurant! I was skeptical because of the terms "Asian fusion" but my worries washed away with the food. The appetizers are a must have here! I would rate this spot a 4.5/5 stars if I could.
