FOUND A ROACH IN MY FOOD. DO NOT GO HERE. Filthy, Terrible service, should be shut down, I'm reporting to the city and the health department.

As my Thai adventures during Covid continue I came across Thai Orchid on DoorDash, and ironically I remember when I moved here 20+ years ago people always told me about this place..but I wasn't a big Thai fan than. Tonight was time to check them out. After looking at the menu a few items jumped out so let the order begin. I started with the Wonton Soup and Spring Rolls and for my entree I ordered the Pad Pak Ruam Mit (a stir fry dish) with Shrimp. My ordered arrived in 40 minutes, as quoted on Door Dash, piping hot. The Wonton Soup was delivered for me to combine, a cup of broth and a separate bag with the wontons, bamboo shoots and lettuce. Wonton Soup has never been delivered like this and I loved it! It didn't allow anything to get too soggy and I was able to enjoy what I wanted to and save the rest for lunch today, separate! The spring rolls were light and fried to perfection. The appetizer comes with four and I ate three, that should say something, ha ha! As for the entree, there was a decent amount of shrimp and an abundance of vegetables in a light brown broth with jasmine rice. Overall, Thai House was a hidden, and forgotten, Thai restaurant that I will definitely visit again.

I have been looking for a good Pad Thai in the Charlotte area. The first time we came I noticed that my pad Thai scarcely have chicken meat in it, but It was flavorful. My husband's dish have 3 shrimps! But since the meal was flavorful, we decided to give it another try a week later. This time I ordered extra chicken and sauce in my pad Thai with additional fee which I did not mind much. My husband tried the eggplant dish and he was happy with it. Overall service was good. I think they can be less sparing with the main ingredients with the a bit pricey menu.

I have been on a sort of self made mission to try all of the Thai restaurants in Charlotte. So far, this restaurant has the best, most flavorful Pad Sew Ew. The noodles were cooked well, although not the wide noodle shape I'm accustomed to but the bold flavor made up for it. The portions are huge and very affordable. I'd score Thai Orchid higher than Thai House, Thai Taste, Ray Lai, and Bahn Thai.

Pad Thai is nasty. Extremely too sweet. The noodles was way too dry. Way too much noodles!

I've been pack twice since my review from 6 years ago now that I live here. Tonight I treated myself to fresh spring rolls, green Curry, and mango sticky rice. The online menu didn't seem to list the price of the sticky rice ($6.95). I made sure on my order by phone that it was available/in season. The guys said yes but the mango was so bitter. Pretty much a rip off because it's not meant to taste tart. The green curry was good and they gave a hearty amount but would have been even better if they filled the tall cup toward the rim for the value. The fresh spring rolls was about a normal price and was excited to see peanut sauce n' vinegary spice sauce inside. My review years ago was about pad Thai which was a popular foodie item back then. So I'm more familiar with that dish now.

Purchased a groupon for this restaurant so I figured I'd give it a go! The first thing that stood out to me was the phenomenal service at this location! Great, kind staff from the waitress to the manager! We really appreciated their attentiveness and assistance with ordering. The fried rice dishes were large and tasty! The shrimp still had the tails on it which was a little tough to dig around in the rice. Great presentation of food and great flavor.

The best Thai food in Charlotte, I've grown up eating this food it is absolutely amazing. I come here whenever I'm in town. I crave it. Today I came with my grandmother, we started we the mee krob which is Crispy rice noodle topped with sauteed shrimp and chicken, water chestnuts and served with crisp lettuce. Then we both got a meal off the lunch menu, the lunch menu is also served with a spring roll (prepared with chicken and shrimp, glass noodles and vegetables served with Thai orchid sweet and spicy sauce) and a clear broth soup with cabbage and chicken, both delicious. I got the pad Thai, yum yum yum, there was enough for two meals, their pad thai which is Noodles, egg, bean sprouts, green onion ground peanuts with chicken. My grandmother got the Pad Bai-KraprawFresh chili, basil, stir fried with chicken, it spicy and delicious. Served with jasmine rice. We love this place. Great service and great food.

Being half Thai on my mother side, I would crave for some good Thai food. Unfortunately some other places were good only for some dishes and for this place, it's truly a gem in a hidden area. The tom yum is exactly how I would've made it at home. Larb chicken is made just like how my mom would've made it with exception of her adding more lime and chopping the chicken up. We also ordered fried chicken for the girls and satay which are both good. For myself, a yellow curry with chicken. Delicious and simple. For dessert, mango with sticky rice. Sadly they won't do sticky rice by itself but it's okay. Overall I enjoyed their little romantic restaurant. Some place where I would like to relax with the mister on date night....away from the girls. :)

The menu is extensive, portions are generous, and this is the kind of place where ordering a variety of dishes and sharing family-style is the way to go. That's exactly what we did. We sampled everything from fresh basil rolls, crispy egg rolls, fried wontons, and other appetizers to curries, noodle dishes, vegetables, duck, chicken, and more. The basil duck was outstanding, the red curry was rich and flavorful, and the ginger chicken was another favorite at our table. Every dish arrived fresh, hot, and beautifully prepared. The cocktails were equally impressive. Colorful, creative, and well-balanced, they paired perfectly with the bold flavors coming out of the kitchen. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with an open-concept kitchen that adds energy and excitement to the dining experience. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient, even on a busy evening. Now for the only downside: the prices. Basil Thai is not inexpensive. Some menu items are priced more like what you'd expect in San Francisco than Charlotte. The portions are generous and the quality is excellent, but be prepared for the bill if you're ordering cocktails, appetizers, and multiple entrées. Parking can also be a little challenging since it's located in a busy Uptown area. Plan on using a nearby parking garage and walking a short distance to the restaurant. That said, if you're looking for a special night out, authentic Thai flavors, generous portions, beautiful cocktails, and a lively atmosphere, Basil Thai is well worth a visit. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte. Get out there and eat your way through it.

Naturally, I headed straight to Thai Thai Takeout, which has always been one of my comfort-food staples in Charlotte. Well, surprise -- the restaurant recently changed ownership and rolled out an entirely new menu. I was trying to order from my old takeout menu over the phone and quickly realized I was completely out of sync. Thankfully, the woman helping me was incredibly patient and kind while I figured it out. I ended up ordering the Pra Rahm Long Song with tofu, and honestly, it was delicious. It came loaded with steamed spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, napa cabbage, and cabbage covered in a rich peanut sauce that was comforting without feeling too heavy. The tofu soaked up all that flavor beautifully. I also ordered a pineapple red curry with pork at spice level 3. The curry itself was fantastic -- creamy, rich, loaded with pineapple, and really flavorful. I will say the spice level was pretty mild for a "3," so I added my own chilies at home to kick it up a notch. My only critique was the pork, which was a little dry and tough for my liking. I'm pretty particular about proteins and don't really do white meat chicken either, so next time I may try tofu or another option instead. The good news? The portions are generous, everything was packed nicely, and my order was hot and ready exactly when promised -- about 10 to 12 minutes after I called. Parking is easy right in front, and since it's takeout-only, it makes for a super quick and convenient dinner stop. Even though some longtime favorites like the satay seem to be gone, the new menu looks extensive and exciting enough that I'll absolutely be back to eat my way through it. Charlotte, there's a big wide world out there, and this is definitely a place worth adding to your regular rotation.

I'm basing this review on what I have known Thai Thai to be for years. I'm not sure when they changed but it's not good. None of the food is flavorful. It's all bland. Now it's been awhile since I've ordered from here but I live on the other side of town and had planned to order when I came over to this area. I ordered Pad Thai, Pad See Ew Gang Panang Curry and Thai Thai fried rice. I should have known something was up when a new voice answered the phone. She also had a hard time taking my order and the former cashier/owner had my order down pack. Now the new girl did try to make sure everything was right and even called back to confirm the order. Once home and unpacking the order I could tell something was up. Everything was packaged and looked different. Upon sampling all the items I can confirm the the chicken in each of the dishes is super thin and dried out. Kinda tough. The noodle dishes were also dry and don't taste good. The most palatable dish was the curry and that's not saying much. I'm going to do a little research but I'm pretty sure I will not be coming back to Thai Thai in the future and that hurts my heart.
