I saw Iron Mike's reviews on Yelp- pretty much all 5 stars coupled with a family run business and decided to consider them. My inquiry was returned almost immediately with a very fair and attractive quote, and they were more than accommodating in scheduling a mutually agreeable appointment time. While the location of the shop is somewhat off the beaten path of 355 proper in an area that time has seemed to have forgotten- I arrived at the agreed upon time, was greeted in a most welcoming manner and Iron Mike's took it from there. I was assured the work would be completed and I could pick my truck up at the end of the day so I decided to visit the Original Pancake House and explore White Flint and Rockville for the day-- To my surprise, just a few hours later, I got a phone call from Iron Mike's and was advised my truck was ready, everything went smoothly and I could pick up my truck any time. When I arrived, I was more than surprised to learn that because the job went a little quicker than anticipated, my bill was well under the quote and was incredibly fair !!!! It is so nice to see a business that appreciates YOUR business, coupled with taking pride in their work and more importantly doing a great job. It is also abundantly clear Iron Mikes knows their way around a car or a truck- and are very honest mechanics which is a rarity in this area. While checking for a solution to my issue, they were also able to find a number of other issues, the most important of which was that I needed new brakes. When they were done, I payed about $478 for a new intake manifold, about $937 for all new brake pads and rotors, and $136 for new brake fluid. Overall, I was very impressed with the service I received! Not only were the employees personable, but I was also given an honest assessment of what my car needed. The prices are a little higher than other places, but I think you pay for quality and care. I will definitely come back in the future!

Kevin's lack of professionalism. He clearly doesn't understand the technology he signed himself up for. The day I picked up the vehicle he sent me an invoice via Stripe/Invoice2Go. He didn't realize the company takes a cut from your payment and attempted to blame me for a $525 invoice only resulting in a $508 payout. That's Stripe's fault, not mine. But I still offered the difference via PayPal out of courtesy and because the service was so good. Then SIX DAYS LATER, Kevin leaves me a threatening voicemail accusing me of not paying for the service and demanding to know when he'd get his money. I immediately sent him the receipt of payment provided to me by Stripe/Invoice2go and even took the additional step of sending him the website link from Invoice2go where they explain that all credit/debit transactions are subject to a 7-10 day hold. He could have found this out himself if he had take even an ounce of initiative but opted to call threatening me instead. I can't imagine why... or whether other paid clients who don't look like me have had the same experience. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I recommend this service only if you pay cash to save yourself the headache of being threatened in a voicemail nearly a week later.

My dad has brought his cars to this location before Hillmuth bought it from Ramos. He continues to take his car to Hillmuth because of their consistency, honesty, and efficiency. I moved to California and the last time I had my car serviced here was in 2009. Flash forward to 2014 when I moved home. My husband would do my oil changes and add air to my tires and he even attempted to change my brake pads. He's been busy at work and I thought I will just take my car down the street (see review about Brentwood Automotive). I decided to take my car back to the county (we currently live in Baltimore city) and was so happy I did. Mike and Terry both were so helpful, patient, and answered all questions I had. They didn't sound annoyed when I had no clue about my car and had to call and ask my husband. Sorry, I am old school I don't know much about cars nor do I want to so I appreciate straight shooters and not being taken advantage of by mechanics who just see an easy opportunity to upsell and charge me for things my car doesn't need. After the fiasco I experienced elsewhere I wanted to make sure my car was 'ok' and also was concerned about a nagging tire pressure light that kept blinking. They diagnosed the issue and we decided not to replace the sensor at this time. My husband took his car there and had some maintenance to catch up on. They always call and let you know exactly what needs to be done, what should be done, and you decide whether or not to proceed. They were open with us and we decided to go with about $ 1500 worth of work all of which seemed necessary and vital to extending the life of his vehicle. They also sent a technician to pick me up from my parents house when was car was ready. Such a nice service and a great staff. I brought my 2022 Honda Insight in for a fuel injector issue and the team handled the actual repair perfectly. The car is running smoothly again and the turnaround time was reasonable. If you are looking for quality mechanical work they clearly know what they are doing. However I am frustrated by the lack of guidance regarding warranty coverage. This car is still well within its 5 year or 60000 mile powertrain warranty and fuel injectors are typically covered under that or the emissions warranty. Since this was a major repair cost I wish the shop had recognized the warranty status and advised me to visit a dealership before proceeding with the out of pocket expense. I appreciate the good repair work but I would have valued a bit more professional transparency regarding my manufacturer coverage options. If you go here just make sure you have checked your own warranty status first.

Check the before and after pics! Since I was getting new tires, I had priced new Toyota rims, which were out of the question. Rim Renew made my four old rims totally like new again, plus mounted and balanced my tires, all at a cost of 1/3 what buying identical new Toyota rims would have been. Can't say enough good things about Rim Renew.
