I had a screw placed prior to my braces, when it was time to remove the screw she pulled it out without numbing the area. I was in so much pain and she didnt care. I still have some glue on my teeth from the braces. Braces off and the end result is a gap, lisp and uneven teeth. I basically donated money to this place. Front desk staff is always leaving-this says a lot. As you see from the pictures that I have uploaded- I now have a gap. The gap is actually bigger when you see it in person. I have tried to resolve this with her and she will not take responsibility for the damage she has created. As she stated she takes pride in her work.. Guess leaving me like this is pride for her. The appointment seemed routine; they took X-rays, which I didn't expect to reveal anything alarming since I had seen my own dentist back in my home state less than two months prior for an exam and cleaning, as I don't reside permanently in CT. After reviewing the X-rays, Dr. Tartagni performed a hot and cold test on my tooth and abruptly informed me that I needed a root canal. I was surprised because I didn't feel much during the test and mentioned this to her. Looking back, it seemed like she was either guessing or pushing for unnecessary treatment. After being told I needed a root canal, I was taken to the financial office and given an exorbitant out-of-pocket estimate. The news was especially stressful since I am a college student and my dental coverage is in my home state. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion from my dentist back home, who promptly reassured me that my tooth was perfectly fine and that I had narrowly avoided being taken advantage of. Multiple X-rays confirmed this, and other dentists agreed that no treatment was necessary. This happened about a year ago, and today, my tooth feels completely normal and the strange sensation has disappeared. It even felt better a couple of days after the visit, despite the lady working in the financial office saying that the "pain would likely just get worse" if I didn't go through with the procedure. My dentist back in my home state confirmed it was just sensitivity, which I'm confident he was correct about. I believe Dr. Tartagni and her office should feel ashamed for causing such unnecessary stress. While I understand that medical professionals can make mistakes, the entire experience was incredibly frustrating.
