Some of the other amenities are : a large open space, picnic tables, benches and BBQ's scattered throughout the park, , a full soccer field with goal post, play area for older children as well as for the younger children, plus an walking/biking trail leading to and from the Sacramento River. The majority of the park consists of open space for multi purpose use, with most of the other amenities located off of Park Village Street. Parking is available on park parking lot, school parking lot, as well as street parking. By looking at the park sign, this park is fairly old . Would this park be my first choice to come too ? The open field has that peaceful golden-hour glow in the early evening, and the playground is clean and well maintained -- perfect for siblings to burn off energy while practice is happening. As the sun started setting around 6:30, it became clear there are no field lights, and it gets dark quickly. Also worth noting -- once dusk hits, the mosquitos definitely come out. We were swatting quite a bit by the end of practice. Another important thing to know: there are no restrooms or porta potties onsite, so plan ahead if you're bringing kids or staying for a while. Helpful tip: this is a great daytime park with a lovely playground, but aim for earlier hours and bring bug spray if you're staying into the evening. Update: They now have one porta potty near the playground which is usually very clean.

I am solely rating my experience of this place because it's where I park to go run and the…read morebeginning of my run is on the trail here! The Sacramento River Bike/Walk Trail used to start here but they have since changed the trail name to the Dan Gorfain Trail (at least that part of the trail at the Bill Conlin Youth Sports Complex is named this). This place is always clean and there's always someone using the field. The field is nicely lit! I love this trail because it loops around to a trail along the Sacramento River and ends at Garcia Bend Park. If you run a little extra to the beginning of the park, it's a good 5k run! Then if you run back to the Bill Conlin Youth Sports Complex, it's a nice 10k! The trail is really flat and all concrete but has great views of the river! It's a nice work out and there are always people walking or biking. It has some shade but the whole way is not all shaded. Overall this is one of my favorite long running routes in Sacramento!

It is also great for disabled people as they do have a disabled parking spot and a sidewalk inside the playground area where it's gated.
