Then we get CoVid-ized snd seated at a cool outside patio across from the square where they have a festival every Friday night... front row to the show! Awesome. Then as if it can't get better, we meet Angel and Anna who spoil us all night. A great bottle of Chardonnay and these Gorgonzola white wine mussels... wife is now happy. Bread with them amazing. Ordered the Osso Buco and loved every bite. Tender, fall off the bone good. My wife added a bit if balsamic to increase the flavor.. One of the best meals we had while we were on vacation! The staff were so friendly and had great recommendations. There was live music playing, and the ambience was great! We went on a Friday night so it was right by the street art fair, so it was the perfect post-dinner activity. We started out with the burrata and house bread. Highly recommend the short rib ravioli, lasagna, and the penne vodka for mains. We got the Sauvignon Blanc from Venice as well--a great balance of sweet and dry! Great restaurant a little away from all the busy streets.. we got carbonara and the Risotto both extremely flavourful and scrumptious... This was hands down the best Carbonara I ever had, the risotto was very good too but the carbonara was unique. Def going there again and highly recommended. read more

I'm a little confused. How does a wine bar not have a wine list by the glass available for customers? When I asked about wines by the glass, the response was red or white and I said red and then the response was Cabernet or Tempranillo. I visibly cringed. That is not enough information for a wine bar to offer. This is not a wine bar. That said, I'm glad it exists and the food is lovely. The staff needs more training on how to interact with customers and what not to say to customers. And on the menu and the specials. The whole experience was awkward. For them. For me. I felt bad so I tipped a lot but I didn't really have a good time. read more

My wife and I have talked about this place for a couple of years and we never have the night align to where we can stop by since it closes early by Cabo standards. We really wanted to just see what type of wine experience a place has that calls itself a Wine Bar. For us, being from California, we consider a wine bar to be a place where there are several options for tasting, an environment that endears itself to a social gathering while enjoying wine and a great bartender who can help with choices. In Cabo, there really aren't more than maybe 2-3 places that fit this bill so we kind of know what to expect. To start with, the bartender was very nice and engaging. The bar is in the back and is quite small but it was clean and did the trick. They really are overly limited by their choices in terms of wines by the glass when you consider how many different kinds of wines there are out there. We made the best of it and my wife also sampled one of their small plates which was good. We stayed for about 45 minutes and then moved on. I think all-in-all, it is more designed for a sit-down dining experience than for people who are looking for a wine tasting destination which is not a bad thing at all. We ate at Doc Wine Bar today because of the good reviews we saw. When we got there, the restaurant was completely empty. That should have been a warning sign for us. The menu was quite limited compared to other restaurants, and the pastas were only okay. I had the DOC pasta which was really bland and too much cream. The worst part was when we paid, they kept telling us that the price does not include tip and asks if we want to add a tip. We added a 12% tip as customary in Mexico, and the waiter spoke something in Spanish to the lady holding the card reader. Then he told us how much our tip was in USD, and told us we should tip more. That was extremely rude because tip is supposed to be based on how good your service is, not based on how much you think we should pay you. Do yourself a service and eat somewhere else with actual customers. read more

Fantastic Find! My wife and I were on our last day in Cabo + we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. While waiting around the marina and drinking cheap wine that one of the many bars offered I decided to find an establishment that served better wine. Only a few minutes walk my wife and I were so relieved when we arrived, air conditioning helped us beat the heat. We initially sat at the bar and had a couple of glasses of wine from the Valle de Guadalupe area after talking to our server we decided to just eat here. We moved from the wine bar over to the table where our server explained every single dish to us in detail (so sorry I cannot remember his name, older gentleman but the best!). I ordered a shrimp pasta and so did my wife which I cannot stop thinking about, they kept coming with the wine and the bread. At the end of the dinner our server offered me a espresso mixed with a liquor which I want to replicate here at home. When we were finished I was expecting this humungous bill but it barley exceeded $100 (US), we left them a great tip for all the serve they provided. Definitely will recommend this spot to anyone in the Cabo area and we will definitely make this place a must stop whenever we come back down. read more

Live in Seattle with pretty great restaurant scene, this place very pleasantly surprised me! The risotto was among best I've ever had (often the funghi is flavorless but not here!). My daughter is a gnocchi snob and loved it. Even the salad de giornio was of note, pine nuts, goat cheese, crunchy items I couldn't identify but which made the salad! The Mexican Chardonnay by the glass was also extremely delicious, crisp yet still slightly buttery... honestly a nice change of pace from touristy pLaces, also kind of appreciated a menu not in English! read more

Italian gem and wine bar in Cabo. The staff are friendly and really take pride in offering great wines and delicious food. Every dish was amazing. To start, we shared the artichoke soufflé, so good on its own and great with bread. We also had toasts with melted cheese and zucchini, which may not sound like much but get it. So.... you really need to get the homemade pastas. We had the fresh pasta - specki asparagi - long flat noodles, red sauce, prosciutto bits and thin shaved asparagus. You don't need to add parmesan or anything to this dish. The pasta had so much flavor and surprisingly sans that heavy feeling in your tummy. Although, we did not have room for dessert. If this restaurant were stateside, I would keep it on the down low so it wouldn't get crowded. But I'm sharing the love here :) read more

It seems odd that some of the best Italian food I've ever had is on the north end of a popular corridor in Cabo. After days of tacos, we were ready to mix it up - so excited that we did!! The spot is as mentioned, not the easiest to find and the insides are v dimly lit. That being said, the staff is all smiles and friendly and eager to answer any and all questions. I had the funghi tagliatelle, a friend had the pesce e menta (catch of the day - a white fish - mint, white wine, tomatoes, and lemon zest), and the last of our trio had the DOC (gunciale, cream, thyme, habanero chile, and sweet corn). We split the caprese between the three of us. I don't remember the last time I was less ashamed to scarf down a meal that exquisite and delicate. It was divine, and I could have had more except that it was so perfect upon completion that all we did was make plans to come again. The tagliatelle was obviously made on site and had such crafted yet high caliber flavor and texture, it was like silk in the mouth. The fish was also flavorful and fresh, while the DOC was the heavier of the three but also a great diversity of local profiles in an otherwise v Italian plate. I can't say enough for this place except that every time I go to Cabo, I will make a stop. read more

I had the spaghetti with tomato sauce & Italian sausage, it was very authentic and was very delicious. The bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar was very good too. Had a late lunch for my wife's birthday and had actually planned to eat at another Italian restaurant but when we got there it was closed for remodeling. My wife was definitely in the mood for Italian food so did a Yelp search for places nearby and found this place. What a great surprise. The food was excellent, actually some of the better Italian food I have had so was pretty surprised to have such a place in Cabo. They make all of their own pastas and bread. We started with the burrata appetizer which is made in house as well, was outstanding. I had the short rib raviolis that had a very generous amount of short rib filling and a delicious mushroom and Gorgonzola sauce. My son had the fall of the bone Osso Bucco over risotto with saffron and my wife had the homemade Lasagna which was incredible as well.Our server was Carlos who was excellent along with the rest of the staff. They have a full bar and a very nice wine selection which seems to be a challenge at most places in Cabo. After we had sat down and got our drinks we had mentioned to Carlos that we had caught some fresh fish and he told us that they could prepare and cook for us. After having such a great meal we booked a reservation for tonight to have them cook our fish for us. Highly recommend this place if you are a foodie type and like a nice selection of good wines. All of the staff was extremely accommodating to our needs, allowing us to try the wines before choosing a glass to ensure we enjoyed each and every sip and coaching us through the menu. Our waiter Adrian could not have provided us better service, and the rest of the staff was all smiles, including the chef who came to speak to us about our meal and ensure we enjoyed our time at DOC. The carbonara, prepared with house made pasta and guanchale, was TO DIE FOR, along with the mussels in white wine and caprese served with wonderfully creamy burrata. We dined at DOC many years ago when they first opened. Although the food was very good, our waiter was arrogant beyond words. We are foodies and service is as important to us as the food - so, we never returned. Friends asked us to give them another shot, so today, we went in for a leisurely lunch. We were gifted with Carlos as our server. He was very knowledgeable in regards to both the menu and wine list. He was polite, efficient and contributed to a surprisingly five star experience! We started off with a glass of Chardonnay and split the Burrata Salad. Wowsa. Flavors burst in our mouths and we savored every last morsel. On to the Mussels in Gorgonzola Sauce. Very rich, plenty for two. The sauce could have stood alone with some pasta. Highly recommend! On to the Tagliatelle with Bolognese. Have had this dish all over the world and this was a top of the line. The meat was shredded, not scrambled and the pasta was cooked perfectly. We finished off with some Fontina Cheese, Olives and their lovely Baguette. Following the salad, we paired a 2014 Kerubiel from Adobe Guadalupe, Mexico with the remainder of our meal. I have never had a meal from start to finish where everything was the best ever. It was so good we came back a second night during our visit to Cabo. The first night we had prosciutto, artichoke soufflé, short rib ravioli, Tartufati, and the panna cotta. It was truly amazing. The Tartufati gnocchi was so flavorful and satisfying even without an added protein. The ravioli were unimaginable. The article soufflé is a must and the panna cotta was the best I've ever had. The second night we did the soufflé and short rib ravioli again. We also had the pesto gnocchi and the calamari lunga. The pesto was amazing fresh and the lunga was abundant with calamari and just the right about of spice. We finished with the panna cotta, again, and the tiramisu. Garrrr, I just accidentally quit my browser after writing an extensive review of this place. Anyway, we found this place after walking into a really loud bar filled with drunk and badly dressed Americans called D_____s that had free wifi and decent sangria so we could look up an alternative on Yelp! After walking here, we were greeted by a lovely older Italian manager/host who seated us (no reservation but they were able to squeeze the two of us in, thankfully) and then served by another Italian man named Luigi from Verona. :) We shared Pellegrino, a bottle of Brut Rose, the Caprese, and a special beef ravioli with brown butter sauce that was to die for. All of that was under $100USD which is pretty good. Our server even gave us some Limoncello as a digestif afterwards on the house. (They thought we were famous actresses...hehe) We were too full to try dessert this time but when I go back to Cabo, I will definitely return. The service was incredible, they were so friendly, the live music was awesome and not too loud for a cozy place, and it just had that feel of a place you'd return to every time you're there. Go and you will not be disappointed! We were way too overdressed (LA beachy boho style) for the other restaurant but here, we fit right in. the crowd was mixed in age, but everyone was dressed nicely. The food was authentic and delicious, they have a massive wine list with a great range in prices, and they were so friendly and accommodating. Like the other reviews say, I couldn't believe how this authentic Italian restaurant was in Cabo!? But it was, and we loved it. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. My group (of 4) didn't and we got the last table, outside, by the busy street and all the people smoking at the bar next door... The caprese salad and prosciutto were so good! Everyone I was with loved their pasta! The gluten-free noodles weren't my favorite and I wish I would have ordered a different entree but the server went too fast and I didn't quite understand him so it was my fault I went with what I did. Overall, a cute little restaurant that I would give another try for the good wine, GF options, and something other than Mexican for a long vacay in Cabo! read more

We are here last night for the first time. Place was beautiful and service was exceptional. We ordered the carpaccio which was very good followed by the lasagna for my husband and gnocchi with meat sauce for me. Lasagna was good and gnocchi was divine. Melted in my mouth! The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because we took tiramisu to go and when we tried it back in the room did not like it at all. But we will go back for app and main meal. read more

We tried the mussels (not on the menu, but recommended by our server) the Montana crostini (ok, but I'd stick w/ the seafood) and the catch of the day - a sea bass, cooked to perfection w/ wonderful veggies, including some "sea grass " - apparently a sea vegetable; very tasty.
