I love Japanese Mochi Donuts! They are less greasy and less sweeter than regular doughnuts. Dochi makes incredible variety of flavors of mochi donuts. They are so soft and delicious. Love each of the design of the toppings as well! So far my favorite flavors are the Ube ones. They release new flavors often, make sure to visit their social media platform to find out what flavors they have available. Their service are fast and great! They do ran out of donuts sometimes so make sure to visit them early. I've been to both Tukwila and Seattle location and both are highly recommended. They serve individual, half dozen or a dozen servings. I love their donut boxes, it has a cute color and notes inside the box, which you can also write a "to" and "from" notes if you'd like to give it as a gift to someone. read more

Probably one of my fav mochi donut. The price isn't too bad. Single was 2.75 each or 6 for $15. We went around 1-2pm and they still had all the flavors, which is nice. I think if we came lately they would have run out of some of the popular flavor like ube glazed. We got strawberry pocky, taro pebbles, ube glazed, and matcha donut. Strawberry Pocky had pieces of strawberry pocky on strawberry icing. Taro pebbles had fruit pebbles on taro icing Ube glazed had a slight ube glazed on the donut. My favorite was the taro pebbles. The strawberry pocky piece fell off really easily just be prepared because it was a little messy having the pocky piece falling down on my lap while eating in the car. I've been here a couple of times now for over a year. I do like the fact that they have a limited menu so it makes my life easier when choosing the flavors - I'm quite indecisive when it comes to any menu. In terms of a great mochi donut - I've had better, especially those in Hawaii. But Dochi here is quite decent and if you come early when they're opened, the fresh batches are actually crispy outside and chewy inside. But come anytime after 12 Noon and it's been consistently soft and a bit stale. I think the display case for these donuts actually make them more stale the longer they sit out. Hence why an airtight, sturdy box doesn't do anything to help the integrity of the donut besides being a pretty box. I will of course be back because where else can I get mochi donut? read more

Heard so much about this place and finally we gave a try. At first, I thought that this place is located near Seafood market next to Jollibee without knowing another one nearby. Then, I realized that it's a few blocks away inside of the building of Lam's Seafood Asian market & Eatery of the Plaza of Best Buy. The parking was convenient over there. Luckily, not many people were there today so I could grab and go. There are 6 flavors so I could try all the flavors with a dozen of them. It reminded me of the donuts shop, Mister Donuts, in Taiwan with the same texture and it's really delicious! Compared to the American ones, it is less sweet with the crunchy toppings. Yummy chewy Mochi donuts! I really enjoy grabbing a couple of these tasty Japanese donuts whenever I am in this shopping area. It's located inside of Lam's Seafood Asian Grocery store. They make them fresh throughout the day. The menu features unique flavors. My all time two favorite flavors are Ube and Strawberry Pocky. They are cute, fun, and make a great gift. If you are heading to a party you can can also buy them by the dozen. There's often a line to buy these but the line doesn't ever take longer than 5-10 minutes at this location. They cost about $2.75 each, which is a bit expensive for donuts. I bought the taro and matcha flavored donuts and ate them in my car (since they do not offer any seating options). I was disappointed. The adventures I go on include driving 30 minutes to go get donuts because all the foodie homies keep posting photos about it. I'm not a dessert person in general, but I'm all about trying hype places so I had to plan out my meals throughout the week to be able to squeeze donuts in my diet. Dochi's donuts are made with mochi powder giving it a different texture, but I liked it since it also wasn't as sweet. Since I drove all the way here, I had to make sure to get the dozen box with all the variety of flavors, not sure if the favors rotate or not, but I liked the matcha oreas the most. My roommates & friends that I found to help me finish the dozen enjoyed it very much. This is one of those places that provides photo worthy type of food, even the box that it's placed in is so cute that I almost didn't want to throw away. Even if you don't plan to eat donuts all the time, this still makes great gift to brighten anybody's day! Make sure you support Asian businesses during these times, restaurant industry has been hit the hardest. They have another location in Chinatown inside Uwjamaya, but it's temporary closed. Hours for this location closes kind of early and even earlier if they sells out, but they update their social media to inform you plus I can only imagine the intensive labor of prepping hours & hours before store opens to only sell it for under $3 a piece. Visited the Dochi location in Chinatown when it was still open and 2x in the new branch in Tukwila. Giving this place a 2 because my first time having a mochi doughnut was in Hawaii and imo I think their texture, dough, and flavor options are much better than dochi. I came back during new flavors and seasonal ones to see if it is any better, but I've experienced better. The tukwila location I feel has a better consistency in dough versus chinatown. Matcha Oreo: Probably my favorite because it isn't as sweet as the other options. I do wish the matcha was stronger Matcha Pistachio: Same verdict, but the pistachios felt stale to me Taro & Strawberry Pebbles: Really sweet, the fruity pebbles over power the icing and I can't taste any taro. Mainly sugar. Same goes for their new fall flavor of strawberry pebbles Choco Churro: Pretty good, I like the strong cinnamon flavor Ube Glazed: They made the dough with ube and regular glazed icing, but I can't taste any ube Strawberry pocky: Fairly accurate in taste so if you like strawberry pocky, this one's for you. Coffee & Red Velvet: Red velvet didn't have taste to me so I think it was more of a texture and presentation thing but I liked the coffee icing. During COVID we were really good about staying home, but we heard about Dochi and were really curious about it. Our friends raved about these mochi donuts so we decided to treat ourselves and make the trek down to The Eatery @ Lam's Seafood Market. When you get there you have to walk past the entrance to Lam's, down the side of the building, and there is a separate entrance for The Eatery. When you walk through the door, turn right and Dochi is the corner stall. There was a long line when we went, and we heard that if you don't go early they may run out of some flavors. The most popular seems to be the Ube, and sure enough it was gone by the time we got there. We decided to try all the remaining flavors and we enjoyed them all. My favorites were the Matcha Oreo, and cookies and cream. Beware, you may want to eat a dozen in one sitting. I know we almost did. We had to stop ourselves and save some for later. ENJOY! read more

This is another branch of Dochi in Tukwila! The one in Chinatown is currently closed. This one is in the foodcourt area, "The Eatery," of Lam's Seafood -- at the corner. They currently have a soft opening during COVID-19, so the hours are 11AM-3PM everyday (or until they sell out). Be prepared to wait! The line at 11AM on a Thursday was long. It was like a 30 min wait, so I got in line at 12PM and only waited 15 minutes. The Mochi donuts were delicious it's still pricey ($2.75/donut + tax) but it is definitely a nice treat to yourself or for an event! The dough is chewy and soft. I LOVE mochi doughnuts and love every bit of their chewiness, sweetness, mochi-ness... the goat of doughnuts to me. My friend picked these up and I tried both the pistachio and the ube. Noticed that they kept their structure, weren't at all greasy, and were both chewy and pillowy upon biting into. Beautifully decorated overall and a great portion size. I liked pulling off search round section one-by-one to eat. There was cinnamon toast, ube, pocky, and pistachio. I tried the ube and pistachio. I wouldn't say the flavors scream out to me or that they are overly sweet with the icing and toppings. Basically mild in flavor - but not in a bad way. Unlike regular doughnuts, Dochi's doughnuts are made with rice flour so the doughnut doesn't dry out after hanging out in its box overnight. The flavors I got were Strawberry Pokky, Fruity Pebbles, Cookies and cream with a cookie butter drizzle, Ube Glaze, and Oreo Macha. Even though I wished the ube and the macha flavor was a bit more prominent, all of them were delicious. Located inside the seafood plaza so it could be a bit hard to find from the parking lot. Doors to enter and exit the plaza are all automatic open/close so no need to touch any door handles :) I moved to Seattle from San Francisco and wanted a mochi donut fix. Dochi's mochi donuts were so much better than what I was used to in the Bay. The mochi texture is more apparent, so you get more chew and less traditional donut texture which is a plus in my book. The flavors that they offer here are so incredibly creative and decorative. I ordered a half dozen pack so I could try all the flavors. I normally don't like anything peppermint, but wow the peppermint cocoa flavor was very forgiving and gave it justice. Strawberry pretzel had a perfect harmony of sweet and salty (from the pretzel). Dochi is one of my must-stop when going to Seattle. This is our first time going to the Lam seafood location which I ended up liking better. It goes by faster because of where it's located. Uwajimaya you'll have to walk to the end back of the store to get to dochi, whereas here it's around the corner as soon as you walk in. The ordering is pretty fast and simple! Dochi delivers this soft, chewy and light airy donut texture that I simply can't find at other places. Their donuts are not very sweet either, which is factor I do love. They usually have 6 flavors and sometimes those flavors can change; sometimes they have seasonal flavors. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because I feel like some of the flavors are not completely there. It's very subtle. Other than that, I think it's an overall great donut and can be addicting. I don't normally see or have that dry problem after a couple of hours, it's usually get dry after leaving it for 2-3 days. First day eating it fresh still very chewy and soft. It wasn't a dense donut, it was slightly airy and chewy, but you can tell it was sitting for a little bit of time. I tried the red velvet and the one with the fruity pebbles. So Dochi is not the best marked place to find we drove around the strip mall ended up parking going in played where's Waldo with the location to have one of the staff pointed out so this location is hard to find. I've gone to the event when they partnered with Coffeeholic and although I didn't get the tote they offered, they provided me a 10% off loyalty card good from March 2021 to December 2021. However, multiple times I've been there have been flies buzzing around over the donuts in the display. I have been wanting to try these mochi donuts for a long time. I finally was near the Southcenter Parkway location and decided to go buy some. Dochi Donuts is in the Lam's Seafood foodcourt. You can get to the foodcourt by going through the main store entrance or through the mall entrance north of Best Buy. I wanted a dozen donuts but at $31 it's too expensive so I opted to buy 6 donuts for $16.50. We arrived late afternoon so some of the flavors were sold out. We picked the cookies & dream, choco churro and the chocolate almond. I loved the texture of the mochi donuts - soft and chewy. They were not sickenly sweet. The chocolate almond was good but the cookies & dream and the chocolate churro were tasty. I would have given them 5 stars but they are a bit on the expensive side. read more
